What will it give?

In my case, the station opened for reception and transmission in the range of 60-999 MHz. In reality, there is no such overlap.

Where did it come from

Sourced from USENET. Everyone knows, but not everyone has tried. The reasons for this are different: fear of getting into a $500 machine, lack of knowledge of the English language.

How to make

We save all data from memory using a programmer or piece of paper. We remove the battery, unscrew 6 screws from the L-shaped cover covering the keyboard at the back and one screw from the button holding the battery.

We find jumpers. These are contact pads, filled with solder or not.

To make it easier to reach the jumpers, you can pull the ribbon cable out of the connector. We remove the solder from JP1007, this will open the station to work in the range of 134-174 and 420-470 MHz. We can stop here.

We collect the station.

Press [MHz A] and [MHz B] at the same time, turn on the power. We turn the encoder and enjoy. If you repeat the power-on procedure with the [MHz A] and [MHz B] buttons, the station will switch to the 144-146(148) and 430-440(450) MHz modes. One drawback - this procedure clears the memory and all settings.

If you decide to radically turn around, read on. We remove the solder from JP1004, this will make it possible to edit the program menu. We are assembling the station. While holding both Vol/SQL buttons and the [CALL] button, turn on the power and enter the program menu mode. The functions are selected by the shaft encoder. Adjustment: hold the [F] button until the F icon flashes, use the [MHz A] and [MHz B] buttons to change the value, the [F] button writes the value. Exit the mode - turn off the power.

Each band (left/right receiver) has different settings, so choose the right one first. hex numbers. All settings are similar to FT-11. Can someone please tell me how to adjust the squelch thresholds!!!!! At my station, one of the thresholds is down (SQL TH) and the station has become defective. Kind people!!! Help!!

After changing the BAND (from 0 to 7), press the [CALL] button, the station will turn off the power. Press [MHz A] and [MHz B] at the same time, turn on the power. The station, depending on the band number and processor firmware, can switch to different modes: European (144-146, 430-440, Tone burst), Japanese (144-148, 430-450, SQL open), open (134-174, 420-470), very open (60-180, 300-512, 700-999) and very open (60-999). In my case, there were: European, Japanese, and solid. Naturally, the sensitivity and output power are not the same everywhere, here are the real limits in my device: 121-179, 319-488, 650-950, + 100 MHz aircraft band (AM, receive only).

Machine for thinning flowers in gardens 02.05.2024

In modern agriculture, technological progress is developing aimed at increasing the efficiency of plant care processes. The innovative Florix flower thinning machine was presented in Italy, designed to optimize the harvesting stage. This tool is equipped with mobile arms, allowing it to be easily adapted to the needs of the garden. The operator can adjust the speed of the thin wires by controlling them from the tractor cab using a joystick. This approach significantly increases the efficiency of the flower thinning process, providing the possibility of individual adjustment to the specific conditions of the garden, as well as the variety and type of fruit grown in it. After testing the Florix machine for two years on various types of fruit, the results were very encouraging. Farmers such as Filiberto Montanari, who has used a Florix machine for several years, have reported a significant reduction in the time and labor required to thin flowers. ... >>

Advanced Infrared Microscope 02.05.2024

Microscopes play an important role in scientific research, allowing scientists to delve into structures and processes invisible to the eye. However, various microscopy methods have their limitations, and among them was the limitation of resolution when using the infrared range. But the latest achievements of Japanese researchers from the University of Tokyo open up new prospects for studying the microworld. Scientists from the University of Tokyo have unveiled a new microscope that will revolutionize the capabilities of infrared microscopy. This advanced instrument allows you to see the internal structures of living bacteria with amazing clarity on the nanometer scale. Typically, mid-infrared microscopes are limited by low resolution, but the latest development from Japanese researchers overcomes these limitations. According to scientists, the developed microscope allows creating images with a resolution of up to 120 nanometers, which is 30 times higher than the resolution of traditional microscopes. ... >>

Air trap for insects 01.05.2024

Agriculture is one of the key sectors of the economy, and pest control is an integral part of this process. A team of scientists from the Indian Council of Agricultural Research-Central Potato Research Institute (ICAR-CPRI), Shimla, has come up with an innovative solution to this problem - a wind-powered insect air trap. This device addresses the shortcomings of traditional pest control methods by providing real-time insect population data. The trap is powered entirely by wind energy, making it an environmentally friendly solution that requires no power. Its unique design allows monitoring of both harmful and beneficial insects, providing a complete overview of the population in any agricultural area. “By assessing target pests at the right time, we can take necessary measures to control both pests and diseases,” says Kapil ... >>

New fabric will keep you warm and cool 02.12.2017

Materials scientists from Stanford University in Palo Alto (USA), led by Yi Cui, have developed a fabric that can both warm and cool the human body, thanks to its special structure.

In the past few decades, scientists have already developed "breathable" materials that minimize heat loss from the human body. Cooling is more difficult; one solution is to create a fabric that would block visible light (that is, be opaque), but at the same time would freely transmit infrared (IR) radiation from the body, with which 40-60% of thermal energy is released from it.

Cui and colleagues combined these two approaches. The fabric they created is a kind of "sandwich", in which the role of bread (outer layers) is played by layers woven from polyethylene nanothreads. The "stuffing" is two-layer: one layer is carbon fiber that absorbs (and emits) infrared rays, the other is a copper film, which delays infrared rays only to a small extent.

Thus, putting on clothes made of such a fabric, first one side, then the other, you can either keep warm in the cold or cool in the heat. Tests have shown that the temperature difference that can be achieved is up to 6.5°C. This will already save a lot of energy on heating (summer) and cooling (winter) homes, which in the US takes up to 40% of all home energy costs.

Researchers are confident they will be able to more than double the performance of their insulating/cooling fabric in the near future.

Evelyn Wang, an engineer at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, calls her Stanford colleagues' paper "fascinating" and their concept "elegant and quite simple."
