With this unit, you can listen to HF broadcast and amateur radio signals on a VHF broadcast receiver operating at approximately 90 MHz.

Schematic diagram of the HF converter is shown in the figure.

The principle of operation of the converter is as follows. The radio signal from the antenna WA1 is fed to the high-pass filter C1, L1. Further, it is amplified in a cascade on VT1 and fed to a mixer assembled on a transistor VT2, and a signal from a local oscillator on a transistor VT3 is also fed to this mixer, the tuning frequency of which is 75 ... 85 MHz. A frequency equal to the sum of the local oscillator frequency and the receive frequency is allocated at the output of the mixer. The received frequency ranges from 5...15 MHz.

A wide range of parts can be used in the converter, the element ratings are not critical and can vary within small limits.

Transistors VT1 ... VT3 - KT368, others can be used with a cutoff frequency of at least 300 MHz. The circuit C1, L1 can be taken from standard HF receivers. Coils L2 and L3 are wound on a mandrel with a diameter of 5 mm and contain 6 turns of SEW wire with a diameter of 0,8 mm. As an antenna WA1, you can use a piece of copper wire with a length of at least 1 m.

Setting up the converter comes down to selecting the value of the capacitor C10 before the appearance of KB radio stations in the 90 MHz VHF band. Range tuning is carried out by a variable capacitor C9. For smooth tuning to weak signals, for example, in amateur bands, a variable resistor R10 is used.

Artificial leather for touch emulation 15.04.2024

In a modern technology world where distance is becoming increasingly commonplace, maintaining connection and a sense of closeness is important. Recent developments in artificial skin by German scientists from Saarland University represent a new era in virtual interactions. German researchers from Saarland University have developed ultra-thin films that can transmit the sensation of touch over a distance. This cutting-edge technology provides new opportunities for virtual communication, especially for those who find themselves far from their loved ones. The ultra-thin films developed by the researchers, just 50 micrometers thick, can be integrated into textiles and worn like a second skin. These films act as sensors that recognize tactile signals from mom or dad, and as actuators that transmit these movements to the baby. Parents' touch to the fabric activates sensors that react to pressure and deform the ultra-thin film. This ... >>

Petgugu Global cat litter 15.04.2024

Taking care of pets can often be a challenge, especially when it comes to keeping your home clean. A new interesting solution from the Petgugu Global startup has been presented, which will make life easier for cat owners and help them keep their home perfectly clean and tidy. Startup Petgugu Global has unveiled a unique cat toilet that can automatically flush feces, keeping your home clean and fresh. This innovative device is equipped with various smart sensors that monitor your pet's toilet activity and activate to automatically clean after use. The device connects to the sewer system and ensures efficient waste removal without the need for intervention from the owner. Additionally, the toilet has a large flushable storage capacity, making it ideal for multi-cat households. The Petgugu cat litter bowl is designed for use with water-soluble litters and offers a range of additional ... >>

The attractiveness of caring men 14.04.2024

The stereotype that women prefer "bad boys" has long been widespread. However, recent research conducted by British scientists from Monash University offers a new perspective on this issue. They looked at how women responded to men's emotional responsibility and willingness to help others. The study's findings could change our understanding of what makes men attractive to women. A study conducted by scientists from Monash University leads to new findings about men's attractiveness to women. In the experiment, women were shown photographs of men with brief stories about their behavior in various situations, including their reaction to an encounter with a homeless person. Some of the men ignored the homeless man, while others helped him, such as buying him food. A study found that men who showed empathy and kindness were more attractive to women compared to men who showed empathy and kindness. ... >>

Stay away from the engine 17.11.2007

Mini-power plants, popular among summer residents who do not rely on mains electricity, can be hazardous to health. American doctors came to this conclusion after collecting data on people admitted to Florida hospitals with carbon monoxide poisoning between August and October 2004.

During that fall, four powerful hurricanes swept through the state, causing power outages. During this time, 51 cases of poisoning were noted, in total 167 people were injured. However, there were no severe poisonings. Of the 51 cases, 46 involved mobile power generators. Moreover, often the generator was not in the house and not in the garage next to the house, but in the fresh air, on average, at a distance of 210 centimeters from the living quarters.

The authors of the study emphasize that manufacturers should determine how far from home their generators are safe, and indicate this distance in the instructions for the unit. Better yet, reduce the amount of carbon monoxide in the exhaust.
