To power a powerful AF amplifier, this switching power supply was developed, the rated power of which in the load at a mains voltage of 220 V is at least 200 W.

The mains voltage rectifier circuit is shown in fig. 5.8, and the diagram of the converter and rectifiers of the output voltage in fig. 5.9. The power supply is not stabilized because the output stage is powered. UMZCH is made according to a push-pull scheme and is not very critical to the supply voltage.

The main parameters of the converter:

  • rated power in the load, W, not less than ..... 200;
  • output voltage of each of the rectifiers at rated power, V, not less than ..... 30;
  • no-load output voltage of each of the rectifiers, V, no more than ..... 40;
  • efficiency factor (at P = 200 W), %, not less than.....80;
  • converter operation frequency, kHz.....25...35.

To limit the inrush current, the power supply provides a step-by-step power increase mode to the nominal one. For this purpose, a limiting resistor R2 and a trinistor VD6 are introduced into it.

At the initial time, the trinistor VD6 is closed, the charging current of the capacitor C6 is limited by the resistor R2 and the converter starts at a reduced voltage. After that, from the winding IV of the transformer. T3 diode VD7 receives a control voltage, which opens the trinistor. It shunts the resistor R2, and the converter enters the nominal operating mode. Diode VD5 protects the trinistor VD6. The circuit R1, C2, which limits the rate of voltage rise at the anode of the trinistor VD6, eliminates its spontaneous switching on. Elements L1, L2, C3, C4 form a filter that suppresses impulse noise generated by the power supply generator. The converter is a push-pull half-bridge oscillator launched by a relaxation oscillator based on transistors VT1, VT2.

The winding data of transformers T1 ... T3 are given in Table 5.2.

The recommended winding order of the windings of the transformer T3 is as follows: winding I, shielding, windings V - XII, shielding, windings II, III, IV Secondary windings V - XII are wound simultaneously in four wires. The T4 transformer is made on a Sh6x6 magnetic circuit made of 2000NMS ferrite, each of its windings contains 40 turns of PEV-2-0,41 wire. All chokes are of the DM type. The converter board is placed in a perforated casing. Outside it, at the output of each channel of the 30 V power supply, the following are installed: electrolytic capacitors of the K50-16 type with a capacity of 1000 μF.

Machine for thinning flowers in gardens 02.05.2024

In modern agriculture, technological progress is developing aimed at increasing the efficiency of plant care processes. The innovative Florix flower thinning machine was presented in Italy, designed to optimize the harvesting stage. This tool is equipped with mobile arms, allowing it to be easily adapted to the needs of the garden. The operator can adjust the speed of the thin wires by controlling them from the tractor cab using a joystick. This approach significantly increases the efficiency of the flower thinning process, providing the possibility of individual adjustment to the specific conditions of the garden, as well as the variety and type of fruit grown in it. After testing the Florix machine for two years on various types of fruit, the results were very encouraging. Farmers such as Filiberto Montanari, who has used a Florix machine for several years, have reported a significant reduction in the time and labor required to thin flowers. ... >>

Advanced Infrared Microscope 02.05.2024

Microscopes play an important role in scientific research, allowing scientists to delve into structures and processes invisible to the eye. However, various microscopy methods have their limitations, and among them was the limitation of resolution when using the infrared range. But the latest achievements of Japanese researchers from the University of Tokyo open up new prospects for studying the microworld. Scientists from the University of Tokyo have unveiled a new microscope that will revolutionize the capabilities of infrared microscopy. This advanced instrument allows you to see the internal structures of living bacteria with amazing clarity on the nanometer scale. Typically, mid-infrared microscopes are limited by low resolution, but the latest development from Japanese researchers overcomes these limitations. According to scientists, the developed microscope allows creating images with a resolution of up to 120 nanometers, which is 30 times higher than the resolution of traditional microscopes. ... >>

Air trap for insects 01.05.2024

Agriculture is one of the key sectors of the economy, and pest control is an integral part of this process. A team of scientists from the Indian Council of Agricultural Research-Central Potato Research Institute (ICAR-CPRI), Shimla, has come up with an innovative solution to this problem - a wind-powered insect air trap. This device addresses the shortcomings of traditional pest control methods by providing real-time insect population data. The trap is powered entirely by wind energy, making it an environmentally friendly solution that requires no power. Its unique design allows monitoring of both harmful and beneficial insects, providing a complete overview of the population in any agricultural area. “By assessing target pests at the right time, we can take necessary measures to control both pests and diseases,” says Kapil ... >>

Genetics - for the new year 03.12.2001

The largest producers of Christmas trees for American families are the states of Oregon and North Carolina. Actually, in the USA, they didn’t eat, but fir trees are more popular for this holiday: they have longer and more beautiful needles, a well-pronounced aroma, and they last longer without losing their needles.

At the University of North Carolina, arborists and geneticists are working on breeding fir that is resistant to a fungal disease brought to the US from Southeast Asia in the 7th century, root rot. Now about XNUMX percent of the state's fir plantations are affected by root rot. By the way, it is caused by the phytophthora fungus, well known to our gardeners. If the spores of the fungus got into the soil, it is already impossible to get rid of them. American fir seedlings are transplanted onto the roots of two other species that are resistant to root rot.

Meanwhile, Danish breeders have bred larch with reduced moisture evaporation. Such a tree will continue to stand in the room without crumbling and without losing its festive look.
