5.4.1. This chapter of the Rules applies to the electrical equipment of bridge, portal, tower, cable and other cranes with a voltage of up to 10 kV, installed on a foundation or on a rail crane track, as well as to electrical equipment of single-rail carts and electric hoists inside and outside buildings and structures. In addition, the electrical equipment of cranes must meet the requirements of the current "Rules for the Design and Safe Operation of Hoisting Cranes" of the Gosgortekhnadzor of Russia.

The chapter does not apply to ship, floating, railway, automobile and other similar cranes.

5.4.2. The electrical equipment of cranes* installed in explosive and fire hazardous rooms and areas must, in addition to the requirements of this chapter, also comply with the requirements of Ch. 7.3 and 7.4 respectively.

* In the text of this chapter, the term "cranes" means not only cranes themselves, but also single-rail trolleys and electric hoists.

5.4.3. The main trolleys are called trolleys located outside the crane.

Crane trolleys are called trolleys located on the crane.

5.4.4. A small-sized trolley current duct (bus duct) is a device closed by a casing, consisting of trolleys, insulators and a carriage with current collectors. With the help of a small-sized trolley conductor, a crane or its trolley can be powered, single-rail trolleys and electric hoists can be controlled, etc.

5.4.5. The repair pen is the place where the crane is installed during the repair.

The repair section of the main zip lines is the section of these zip lines within the repair paddock.

5.4.6. A section of the main zip lines is a section of these zip lines located outside the repair pens and separated by an insulated joint from each of the adjacent sections, including the repair sections.

Machine for thinning flowers in gardens 02.05.2024

In modern agriculture, technological progress is developing aimed at increasing the efficiency of plant care processes. The innovative Florix flower thinning machine was presented in Italy, designed to optimize the harvesting stage. This tool is equipped with mobile arms, allowing it to be easily adapted to the needs of the garden. The operator can adjust the speed of the thin wires by controlling them from the tractor cab using a joystick. This approach significantly increases the efficiency of the flower thinning process, providing the possibility of individual adjustment to the specific conditions of the garden, as well as the variety and type of fruit grown in it. After testing the Florix machine for two years on various types of fruit, the results were very encouraging. Farmers such as Filiberto Montanari, who has used a Florix machine for several years, have reported a significant reduction in the time and labor required to thin flowers. ... >>

Advanced Infrared Microscope 02.05.2024

Microscopes play an important role in scientific research, allowing scientists to delve into structures and processes invisible to the eye. However, various microscopy methods have their limitations, and among them was the limitation of resolution when using the infrared range. But the latest achievements of Japanese researchers from the University of Tokyo open up new prospects for studying the microworld. Scientists from the University of Tokyo have unveiled a new microscope that will revolutionize the capabilities of infrared microscopy. This advanced instrument allows you to see the internal structures of living bacteria with amazing clarity on the nanometer scale. Typically, mid-infrared microscopes are limited by low resolution, but the latest development from Japanese researchers overcomes these limitations. According to scientists, the developed microscope allows creating images with a resolution of up to 120 nanometers, which is 30 times higher than the resolution of traditional microscopes. ... >>

Air trap for insects 01.05.2024

Agriculture is one of the key sectors of the economy, and pest control is an integral part of this process. A team of scientists from the Indian Council of Agricultural Research-Central Potato Research Institute (ICAR-CPRI), Shimla, has come up with an innovative solution to this problem - a wind-powered insect air trap. This device addresses the shortcomings of traditional pest control methods by providing real-time insect population data. The trap is powered entirely by wind energy, making it an environmentally friendly solution that requires no power. Its unique design allows monitoring of both harmful and beneficial insects, providing a complete overview of the population in any agricultural area. “By assessing target pests at the right time, we can take necessary measures to control both pests and diseases,” says Kapil ... >>

The most important discoveries of 2022 31.12.2022

The most important discoveries of mankind have significantly advanced the world in the field of technology, space and medicine.

Experts have collected the most significant discoveries and achievements in the field of technology, which distinguished the eventful year 2022.

Since the threat of an asteroid collision with the Earth is quite possible, NASA scientists have developed and successfully tested the Dart mission. Scientists in September sent a spacecraft towards the small asteroid Dimorphos, which was orbiting another asteroid Didymos, that crashed into the asteroid and changed its direction.

Later in October, scientists confirmed that they were indeed able to deflect the asteroid Dimorphos from its orbit. This will give the Earth a chance to repel a possible cosmic strike in the future.

Webb Space Telescope. The super-powerful telescope entered orbit on January 24, 2022. The project is estimated at $10 billion and is designed for 25 years. NASA already on July 12 published the first images taken by this telescope.

Transplanting a pig's heart to a human. On January 7, a 57-year-old man with an incurable heart disease underwent a unique operation to transplant a genetically modified pig heart. The patient suffered from arrhythmia and in recent weeks was constantly connected to the heart-lung machine. The patient was discharged from the hospital after the operation and began a normal life. Later, in March, he died, but not through the fault of the transplanted organ.

The human genome has been deciphered. A 20-year study by scientists working on human DNA sequencing has revealed a complete picture of the genetic sequence of human DNA. Now we know the complete version of the human genome, which consists of 3,055 billion base pairs built from chromosomes and genes, and 19 genes.

Breakthrough in thermonuclear energy. Scientists carried out a thermonuclear reaction, which gave more energy than before the launch. This is the biggest breakthrough in the area. If fusion energy is commercialized, it will become a clean and renewable source of energy. This will help to significantly reduce the amount of radioactive waste from nuclear power plants.

Launch of the Large Hadron Collider. After a three-year break for maintenance and modernization, the Large Hadron Collider started working, and already in July CERN announced the discovery of three new exotic particles.

The first photo of a black hole inside the Milky Way. Black holes don't have surfaces like planets or stars. Using the Event Horizon Telescope, astronomers have captured the first photo of a "ring of fire" around a supermassive black hole.

"Wormhole" on a quantum computer. Wormholes are theoretical structures similar to tunnels that lead to different points in space-time. Scientists simulated two black holes on a quantum computer, passing a message between them. Thus, it was possible to create a tunnel in space-time.

Cleopatra's tomb found. The Lost Tomb is the "Holy Grail" for Egyptologists. Egypt has confirmed that the tunnel is 1300 meters long and descends to a depth of 13 meters. At the end of this tunnel may be the famous tomb of Cleopatra. Previously, a stone head of Cleopatra was found at this place along with 22 coins.

Lab-grown brain cells can play video games. Researchers at Melbourne-based startup Cortical Labs have shown for the first time that 800 brain cells can perform purposeful tasks - in this case, Pong. "This new ability to teach cell cultures how to perform a task and how to control a paddle to return a ball opens up new possibilities for discoveries that will have far-reaching implications for technology, health and society," said Dr. Adil Razi, author of the study.
