5.1.34. In EMP with constant duty of personnel, comfortable rooms for personnel on duty, equipped with the necessary means of signaling, measuring and communication with the supply of conditioned air, and a bathroom for service personnel, as well as heating in accordance with applicable sanitary requirements, should be provided.

5.1.35. The walls of the EMF up to a height of at least 2 m should be painted with light oil paint, and the rest of the surface with light adhesive paint in accordance with the guidelines for rational color finishing of industrial premises. Ventilation ducts, including ducts in the foundations of machines, must be painted over the entire inner surface with light, non-combustible paint or lined with glazed tiles or non-combustible plastic coating.

Electrical equipment in the EMF must be painted in accordance with the guidelines for the rational color finish of the equipment.

EMF floors must have a coating that does not allow the formation of dust (for example, cement with marble chips, from metlakh tiles).

5.1.36. It is allowed to use the foundations of machines as supports for covering the EMF basement, subject to the requirements of the SNiP of the Gosstroy of Russia for the design of foundations of machines with dynamic loads.

EMF ceilings should include mounting hatches or openings for transporting heavy and bulky equipment from one floor to another. Hatches should be located in the area of action of the lifting device. The cover of the hatch must have the same degree of fire resistance as the ceiling in which the hatch is located.

5.1.37. The basement of the EMF must have a drainage device, and in case of a high level of groundwater, in addition, waterproofing.

5.1.38. Cable tunnels entering the EMF at the point of contact with the EMF must be separated from them by partitions with a fire resistance of at least 0,75 hours or doors with a fire resistance of at least 0,6 hours. Doors must open in both directions and have a self-locking lock, openable without a key from the side of the tunnel.

Machine for thinning flowers in gardens 02.05.2024

In modern agriculture, technological progress is developing aimed at increasing the efficiency of plant care processes. The innovative Florix flower thinning machine was presented in Italy, designed to optimize the harvesting stage. This tool is equipped with mobile arms, allowing it to be easily adapted to the needs of the garden. The operator can adjust the speed of the thin wires by controlling them from the tractor cab using a joystick. This approach significantly increases the efficiency of the flower thinning process, providing the possibility of individual adjustment to the specific conditions of the garden, as well as the variety and type of fruit grown in it. After testing the Florix machine for two years on various types of fruit, the results were very encouraging. Farmers such as Filiberto Montanari, who has used a Florix machine for several years, have reported a significant reduction in the time and labor required to thin flowers. ... >>

Advanced Infrared Microscope 02.05.2024

Microscopes play an important role in scientific research, allowing scientists to delve into structures and processes invisible to the eye. However, various microscopy methods have their limitations, and among them was the limitation of resolution when using the infrared range. But the latest achievements of Japanese researchers from the University of Tokyo open up new prospects for studying the microworld. Scientists from the University of Tokyo have unveiled a new microscope that will revolutionize the capabilities of infrared microscopy. This advanced instrument allows you to see the internal structures of living bacteria with amazing clarity on the nanometer scale. Typically, mid-infrared microscopes are limited by low resolution, but the latest development from Japanese researchers overcomes these limitations. According to scientists, the developed microscope allows creating images with a resolution of up to 120 nanometers, which is 30 times higher than the resolution of traditional microscopes. ... >>

Air trap for insects 01.05.2024

Agriculture is one of the key sectors of the economy, and pest control is an integral part of this process. A team of scientists from the Indian Council of Agricultural Research - Central Potato Research Institute (ICAR-CPRI), Shimla, has come up with an innovative solution to this problem - a wind-powered insect air trap. This device addresses the shortcomings of traditional pest control methods by providing real-time insect population data. The trap is powered entirely by wind energy, making it an environmentally friendly solution that requires no power. Its unique design allows you to monitor both harmful and beneficial insects, providing a complete overview of the population in any agricultural area. "By assessing target pests at the right time, we can take necessary measures to control both insect pests and diseases," says Kapil Kumar Sharma, lead researcher on this study. ... >>

Restoration of hair growth on damaged skin 30.11.2018

Scientists from the New York University School of Medicine (USA) studied the effect of various signaling pathways on damaged skin in laboratory mice. In his experiment, these pathways were stimulated by cells called fibroblasts, which produce collagen, a structural protein responsible for maintaining the shape and strength of skin and hair, and also perform a repair function in wounds and any other tissue damage.

The researchers activated the Sonic Hedgehog (SHH) signaling pathway, which cells use to communicate with each other. This pathway is known to play a large role in the early stages of embryonic growth in the womb when hair follicles are formed. But in other cases, the activity of this pathway is suspended. Perhaps this explains why hair follicles cannot grow in skin formed after injury or surgery.

Activation of the SHH signaling pathway helped restore hair growth on damaged skin in laboratory mice. Hair began to grow already within four weeks after the injury to the skin.

"Our results show that stimulating fibroblasts enhance the Sonic Hedgehog signaling pathway and can induce hair growth that has not previously been seen in wound healing," says Cell Biologist Mayumi Ito, Senior Researcher, Associate Professor of Dermatology Ronald O. Perelman at the New York University School of Medicine.

The team plans further research on how chemical and genetic fibroblast stimulants can activate the Sonic Hedgehog signaling pathway in damaged human skin cells.
