4.1.1. This chapter of the Rules applies to switchgear (RU) and low-voltage complete devices (LVD) up to 1 kV AC and up to 1,5 kV DC, installed indoors and outdoors and made in the form of distribution, control, relay, consoles, cabinets, bus terminals, assemblies.

Additional requirements for special-purpose switchgear are given in the relevant chapters of Sec. 7.

The terms and definitions contained in paragraphs. 4.2.3, 4.2.4, 4.2.5, 4.2.6, 4.2.8, 4.2.11, 4.2.12 are also valid for this chapter.

The Japanese company Total Design Communications has developed a wireless headset for mobile phones called "i2me". Using the new Bluetooth technology, it provides a stable connection between the earphone and the "mobile phone" at a distance of up to 10 meters.
