1.8.27. Tires are tested in the scope:

  • for voltage up to 1 kV - according to claims 1, 3-5;
  • for voltages above 1 kV - according to paragraphs 2-6.

1. Measurement of the insulation resistance of suspension and support porcelain insulators.

Produced with a megohmmeter for a voltage of 2,5 kV only at positive ambient temperatures.

The resistance of each insulator or each element of a multi-element insulator must be at least 300 MΩ.

2. Insulation test with increased voltage of industrial frequency.

The insulation test is carried out according to table. 1.8.24.

Test duration - 1 min.

3. Checking the quality of bolted contact connections.

A random check of the quality of contact tightening is carried out and 2-3% of the connections are opened. Measurement of the contact resistance of contact connections should be carried out selectively at 2-3% of connections. It is recommended to check contact connections for currents exceeding 1000 A in full.

The voltage drop or resistance on the bus section (0,7-0,8 m) at the contact connection should not exceed the voltage drop or resistance on the bus section of the same length by more than 1,2 times.

4. Checking the quality of the molded contact connections.

Pressed contact connections are rejected if:

a) their geometric dimensions (length and diameter of the pressed part) do not comply with the requirements of the installation instructions for connecting clamps of this type;

b) there are cracks, signs of significant corrosion and mechanical damage on the surface of the connector or clamp;

c) the curvature of the molded connector exceeds 3% of its length;

d) the steel core of the pressed connector is displaced relative to the symmetrical position by more than 15% of the length of the pressed part of the wire.

It is necessary to carry out a selective measurement of the contact resistance of 3-5% of the crimped contact connections. The voltage drop or resistance across the connection section should not exceed the voltage drop or resistance across the wire section of the same length by more than 1,2 times.

5. Control of welded contact joints.

Welded contact connections are rejected if immediately after welding the following are detected:

a) burnout of the outer wire or welding failure due to bending of the connected wires;

b) a shrinkage cavity at the welding site with a depth of more than 1/3 of the wire diameter.

6. Testing bushings.

Produced in accordance with 1.8.34.

Machine for thinning flowers in gardens 02.05.2024

In modern agriculture, technological progress is developing aimed at increasing the efficiency of plant care processes. The innovative Florix flower thinning machine was presented in Italy, designed to optimize the harvesting stage. This tool is equipped with mobile arms, allowing it to be easily adapted to the needs of the garden. The operator can adjust the speed of the thin wires by controlling them from the tractor cab using a joystick. This approach significantly increases the efficiency of the flower thinning process, providing the possibility of individual adjustment to the specific conditions of the garden, as well as the variety and type of fruit grown in it. After testing the Florix machine for two years on various types of fruit, the results were very encouraging. Farmers such as Filiberto Montanari, who has used a Florix machine for several years, have reported a significant reduction in the time and labor required to thin flowers. ... >>

Advanced Infrared Microscope 02.05.2024

Microscopes play an important role in scientific research, allowing scientists to delve into structures and processes invisible to the eye. However, various microscopy methods have their limitations, and among them was the limitation of resolution when using the infrared range. But the latest achievements of Japanese researchers from the University of Tokyo open up new prospects for studying the microworld. Scientists from the University of Tokyo have unveiled a new microscope that will revolutionize the capabilities of infrared microscopy. This advanced instrument allows you to see the internal structures of living bacteria with amazing clarity on the nanometer scale. Typically, mid-infrared microscopes are limited by low resolution, but the latest development from Japanese researchers overcomes these limitations. According to scientists, the developed microscope allows creating images with a resolution of up to 120 nanometers, which is 30 times higher than the resolution of traditional microscopes. ... >>

Air trap for insects 01.05.2024

Agriculture is one of the key sectors of the economy, and pest control is an integral part of this process. A team of scientists from the Indian Council of Agricultural Research-Central Potato Research Institute (ICAR-CPRI), Shimla, has come up with an innovative solution to this problem - a wind-powered insect air trap. This device addresses the shortcomings of traditional pest control methods by providing real-time insect population data. The trap is powered entirely by wind energy, making it an environmentally friendly solution that requires no power. Its unique design allows monitoring of both harmful and beneficial insects, providing a complete overview of the population in any agricultural area. “By assessing target pests at the right time, we can take necessary measures to control both pests and diseases,” says Kapil ... >>

Plastic that decomposes quickly in sea water 15.09.2018

Chinese researchers have developed a type of plastic that can decompose in sea water in a relatively short time. New technologies will ease the problems caused by plastic pollution in the ocean.

Advanced polyesters, which have been successfully synthesized by scientists from the Institute of Physics and Chemistry (IPC) of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, combine the ability to dissolve in water and be degraded by microorganisms. "Once in the sea, this type of plastic completely decomposes in a period of several to hundreds of days. At the same time, it does not eventually turn into macromolecular substances that threaten environmental safety," Wang Gexia, senior engineer of the institute, explained.

According to experts, this material in the future can replace conventional plastics in many areas.

Plastic pollution in the ocean is attracting widespread public attention. Studies have shown that 4,8 to 12,7 million tons of plastics are currently entering the ocean each year, and they make up 60 to 80% of marine litter.

Plastics in the oceans do not decompose for tens or even several hundred years. Under the influence of sunlight, sea water and living organisms, they become particles smaller than 5 mm. The most effective method to combat plastic pollution in the ocean is the widespread use of degradable plastics.

IPC is China's first scientific organization dedicated to the development of biodegradable plastics technology.
