The proposed machine disconnects the load and turns itself off when the voltage in the network is more than the maximum allowable and when it periodically disappears ("blinking" of light).

Surge protection circuit breaker

When the SB1 "On" button is pressed, the mains voltage is supplied to the relay K1 through the contacts K2.1 from the X1 connector. The relay is activated and self-blocking by contacts K1.1. Through the K1.2 contacts, the mains voltage is supplied through the VD5 diode to the R3-R4 divider, to the X2 "Load" connector and to the T1 transformer, which serves to power the machine itself. From the engine of the resistor R4, which sets the trigger voltage of the device, the control voltage is supplied through the diode VD6 to the base of the transistor VT1. Zener diode VD7 serves to protect transistors from high voltages.

When the voltage in the network is higher than normal, the voltage at the base of the composite transistor VT1-VT2 rises, it opens and turns on relay K2. Contacts K2.1 open, relay K1 de-energizes and switches off the load and the machine itself with contacts K1.2. In case of a short-term power failure in the network, relay K1 is also unlocked and disconnects the load. To turn it on, press the SB1 button again. LEDs VD3 and VD4 serve to indicate the status of the device.

Relay K1 - any with a winding operating voltage of 220 V, K2 - also any of the RES-9, RES-22 series with a response voltage of 2 ... 3 V below the supply voltage.

T1 - network, small-sized, with a voltage on the secondary winding of 12 ... 15 V.

Establishment comes down to setting the voltage of the machine to operate with resistor R4.

Machine for thinning flowers in gardens 02.05.2024

In modern agriculture, technological progress is developing aimed at increasing the efficiency of plant care processes. The innovative Florix flower thinning machine was presented in Italy, designed to optimize the harvesting stage. This tool is equipped with mobile arms, allowing it to be easily adapted to the needs of the garden. The operator can adjust the speed of the thin wires by controlling them from the tractor cab using a joystick. This approach significantly increases the efficiency of the flower thinning process, providing the possibility of individual adjustment to the specific conditions of the garden, as well as the variety and type of fruit grown in it. After testing the Florix machine for two years on various types of fruit, the results were very encouraging. Farmers such as Filiberto Montanari, who has used a Florix machine for several years, have reported a significant reduction in the time and labor required to thin flowers. ... >>

Advanced Infrared Microscope 02.05.2024

Microscopes play an important role in scientific research, allowing scientists to delve into structures and processes invisible to the eye. However, various microscopy methods have their limitations, and among them was the limitation of resolution when using the infrared range. But the latest achievements of Japanese researchers from the University of Tokyo open up new prospects for studying the microworld. Scientists from the University of Tokyo have unveiled a new microscope that will revolutionize the capabilities of infrared microscopy. This advanced instrument allows you to see the internal structures of living bacteria with amazing clarity on the nanometer scale. Typically, mid-infrared microscopes are limited by low resolution, but the latest development from Japanese researchers overcomes these limitations. According to scientists, the developed microscope allows creating images with a resolution of up to 120 nanometers, which is 30 times higher than the resolution of traditional microscopes. ... >>

Air trap for insects 01.05.2024

Agriculture is one of the key sectors of the economy, and pest control is an integral part of this process. A team of scientists from the Indian Council of Agricultural Research-Central Potato Research Institute (ICAR-CPRI), Shimla, has come up with an innovative solution to this problem - a wind-powered insect air trap. This device addresses the shortcomings of traditional pest control methods by providing real-time insect population data. The trap is powered entirely by wind energy, making it an environmentally friendly solution that requires no power. Its unique design allows monitoring of both harmful and beneficial insects, providing a complete overview of the population in any agricultural area. “By assessing target pests at the right time, we can take necessary measures to control both pests and diseases,” says Kapil ... >>

Aerodynamic bike 02.10.2016

For those who are not familiar with cycling, it is hard to imagine how many different organizations are involved in record keeping on a bicycle. Among them are the International Cycling Union, the International Olympic Committee, the Guinness Book of Records, the World Association of Human Propulsion Vehicles and the International Association of Human Propulsion Vehicles. The latter organization, in particular, holds competitions for the world speed record among human-powered vehicles.

This year the competition took place in Battle Mountain (Nevada, USA). The challenge was to break the world record set last year by Canada's AeroVelo team with an aero-shell bike called the Eta, derived from the Greek letter "eta". Last year's record was 139,21 km/h, but this year the same Aerobicycle managed to increase the speed to 144,17 km/h and set a new world record.

In order to achieve the speed of 88 miles per hour and, as known from the movie "Back to the Future" (of which Canadian engineers are fans), necessary for "time travel", "Eta" is enclosed in a special shell that creates a laminar boundary layer, but even a small insect can cause turbulence and seriously disrupt the aerodynamics of the apparatus. And so it happened during the preliminary races - Aerovelo could not overcome the mark of 80 miles per hour, after which it turned out that the bug smeared on the bow was to blame.

The AeroVelo team is no stranger to records. Before the Eta device, its participants built a Bluenose bike similar to it, which accelerated in 2012 to a speed of 125 km / h. And a year later, their Atlas helicopter won the $250 Sikorsky Prize for flying 000 seconds at 64,11 meters solely due to the efforts of the pedaling pilot.
