The device, the scheme of which is shown in fig. 7.20, is intended not only to indicate the inclusion of equipment, but also to control the health of the fuse supplied in the DC circuit with a voltage of up to 20 V.

Fuse blown indicator

With a good fuse F1, a direct voltage is applied to the diode V3, the diode is open and the lamp is on, signaling that the equipment is on. Transistors V1 and V2, shunted by diode V3, do not affect the operation of the device. When the fuse blows, the signal lamp is connected to the rectifier through transistor V2. At the same time, a relaxation oscillator assembled on a unijunction transistor V1 comes into operation.

The oscillation frequency of the generator depends on the resistance of the resistor R3 and the capacitance of the capacitor C1 and in this case is 1...2 Hz. With this frequency, the light starts flashing, indicating a fuse failure. Diode V3 is designed to eliminate the influence of the load resistance on the operation of the indicator. If it is absent (i.e., instead of a diode, there is a wire jumper) and the load is short-circuited (the fuse blows), transistor V2 may fail.

The KTP7A transistor can be replaced with KT117B ... KT117G, the KT603B transistor - with KT608A, KT608B, the KD103A diode - with D220, D223. Signal lamp - CM28-0,05 or another, its voltage is selected depending on the voltage of the power source.

Machine for thinning flowers in gardens 02.05.2024

In modern agriculture, technological progress is developing aimed at increasing the efficiency of plant care processes. The innovative Florix flower thinning machine was presented in Italy, designed to optimize the harvesting stage. This tool is equipped with mobile arms, allowing it to be easily adapted to the needs of the garden. The operator can adjust the speed of the thin wires by controlling them from the tractor cab using a joystick. This approach significantly increases the efficiency of the flower thinning process, providing the possibility of individual adjustment to the specific conditions of the garden, as well as the variety and type of fruit grown in it. After testing the Florix machine for two years on various types of fruit, the results were very encouraging. Farmers such as Filiberto Montanari, who has used a Florix machine for several years, have reported a significant reduction in the time and labor required to thin flowers. ... >>

Advanced Infrared Microscope 02.05.2024

Microscopes play an important role in scientific research, allowing scientists to delve into structures and processes invisible to the eye. However, various microscopy methods have their limitations, and among them was the limitation of resolution when using the infrared range. But the latest achievements of Japanese researchers from the University of Tokyo open up new prospects for studying the microworld. Scientists from the University of Tokyo have unveiled a new microscope that will revolutionize the capabilities of infrared microscopy. This advanced instrument allows you to see the internal structures of living bacteria with amazing clarity on the nanometer scale. Typically, mid-infrared microscopes are limited by low resolution, but the latest development from Japanese researchers overcomes these limitations. According to scientists, the developed microscope allows creating images with a resolution of up to 120 nanometers, which is 30 times higher than the resolution of traditional microscopes. ... >>

Air trap for insects 01.05.2024

Agriculture is one of the key sectors of the economy, and pest control is an integral part of this process. A team of scientists from the Indian Council of Agricultural Research-Central Potato Research Institute (ICAR-CPRI), Shimla, has come up with an innovative solution to this problem - a wind-powered insect air trap. This device addresses the shortcomings of traditional pest control methods by providing real-time insect population data. The trap is powered entirely by wind energy, making it an environmentally friendly solution that requires no power. Its unique design allows monitoring of both harmful and beneficial insects, providing a complete overview of the population in any agricultural area. “By assessing target pests at the right time, we can take necessary measures to control both pests and diseases,” says Kapil ... >>

Hydrofoil Electric Taxi Candela P-12 07.06.2021

Swedish premium electric boat manufacturer Candela has unveiled the new Candela P-12 electric hydrofoil water taxi.

Designed to replace traditional diesel-powered models, the 8,5-meter vehicle uses a combination of an electric motor, a carbon-fiber-reinforced composite hull and hydrofoils. The cabin with panoramic windows has seats for 12 passengers.

The hydrofoil system chosen for the P-12 has already been tested on the Candela C-7 luxury pleasure boat. The patented proprietary control system ensures the smoothest possible ride, eliminating the occurrence of seasickness.

The advantages of the novelty include less energy consumption, less noise, smoother movement and significantly less environmental impact. The latter factor allows you to move at high speed in areas where conventional boats have to slow down so as not to harm wildlife.

The Candela P-12 can travel at 30 knots (55 km/h) and has an autonomy of over 2 hours at 20 knots (37 km/h). A standard DC fast charger can fully charge the battery in just an hour.

According to Candela's calculations, the P-12 consumes 80% less energy than conventional water taxis with an internal combustion engine. This means that even in markets where fossil fuels are subsidized, the P-12 will be significantly cheaper to operate than comparable combustion-engined ships.
