In [1-3], the authors express hypotheses and specific proposals for using the unique properties of water for energy saving. In my opinion, the most efficient way is to manufacture heat pumps in which an expander performs the function of a throttle.

Especially for experiments with heat pumps, I purchased an NTS-300-05-V2 turbine handpiece from a dental drill. The turbine of this device develops a rotation speed of up to 300000 rpm, which is quite enough for the most "advanced" sub- and over-unit power plants. I was interested in how this air motor will show itself as a drive for a high-speed mini-electric generator, a turbocharger for a heat pump and a Griggs-Potapov mini-heat generator. Those who do not believe in over-unit thermal power engineering can at least save and generate energy with the help of such a turbine.

The turbine engine is very simple, it consists of only 7 positions (Fig. 1): 1 - cover; 2 - body; 3 - bearings (2 pcs.); 4 - rubber rings (2 pcs.); 5 - turbine; 6 - spring washer pressing the bearing. Three channels are drilled inside the stainless steel body 2: A - for compressed air inlet; B and C - for exhaust air outlet. Turbine 5 itself is made of duralumin. For frictional fastening of tools with a shank diameter of 1,6 mm, a steel bushing 7 is pressed into it.

Due to the enormous speeds developed by the turbine, the tool almost does not wear out.

It must be said that turbine engines have the highest specific power after rocket and space rocket engines. With a diameter of 9 mm, this turbine generates tens and even hundreds of watts of mechanical power on the shaft. Only ultra-high-speed mini-electric motors produced by the military-industrial complex are suitable for working at huge speeds. To excite such improvised electric generators, the natural magnetic field of the Earth is sufficient. The mini-generator can be cooled by the exhaust gas in the turbine, the temperature of which is close to zero.

Having learned from the label of the turbine tip that it can be sterilized in an autoclave at a temperature of 134 ° C and a pressure of 2,2 kgf / m2, I tried to start steam from a pressure cooker into the turbine. The power of such a turbine engine clearly exceeded the power of an air engine, since water vapor, along with other hydrogen-containing or similar substances (ammonia, freon, helium), is the best working fluid for propulsion systems and heat pumps.

When operating the working substance near the "triple point", real gases even exceed the ideal ones. This is the secret of the amazing performance of closed steam turbines.

Since the mini-turbine manufacturing technology is simple (Fig. 2), it can be recommended to craftsmen who undertake to manufacture pneumatic, steam and hydraulic motors.

Lubrication of the HTS300-05-V2 product is carried out with the cheapest and most liquid of all lubricants - spindle oil. The label says that it is allowed to bury the oil twice per shift, 2-3 drops each. However, during continuous operation, the device is content with more economical lubrication. Oil is used during acceleration and stop, it can be injected automatically through inlet A according to the method shown in Fig. 3, where 1 is an oil reservoir closed with a plug (not shown); 2 - porous material that absorbs oil; 3 - air (gas) line.

I think that for the hydraulic motor of an individual hydroelectric power station, the bearings should be protected with seals and lubricated as usual. It is clear that the hydraulic motor should be manufactured in large sizes so that the revolutions are significantly lower. Experiments with hydroelectric power stations have not yet been made. For testing, I intend to use a powerful water pump.

The craftsmen themselves will have to master mini-energy, since commercial manufacturers are fundamentally incapable of doing this.

Molecular pathway found for critical cases of COVID-19 24.04.2022

An international team led by Chinese researchers has identified a molecular pathway that exacerbates the severity of critical COVID-19 cases, providing clues for a potential treatment for such cases.

A new study has shown that the fusion of coronavirus-infected lung cells can exacerbate inflammatory responses, thereby triggering immune signaling cascades in the lungs, which are a major factor in lung damage in patients with severe disease.

Scientists from the Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences and the Peking Union Medical College and their collaborators analyzed post-mortem patient samples. They found a correlation between critical cases of COVID-19 and a fusion of lung epithelial cells called pneumocytes, which has also been seen in macaques and cultured cells infected with the virus.

They then examined human embryonic kidney cells that either expressed the SARS-CoV-2 spike protein that causes COVID-19 or were infected with the spike protein-bearing vesicular stomatitis virus.

The kidney cells eventually fused and formed new cells with multiple nuclei and tiny micronuclei that triggered a DNA sensor in cell fluids. And the sensor, in turn, recruited a protein that activates the expression of genes encoding type I interferons. These, according to the study, are expected to possibly further support inflammatory signaling.
