Hi all. I have an incident here the other day. The phone said "the topic of food is not disclosed!" and threw back his hooves. I mean, oiled the skis. Well, in short, turned off. And there is no one to borrow a charger from. And I don't have one myself. And some computers around. And then thinking - if only, I think, plug the phone into the computer and let it charge itself, like a PDA. Well, what to do - climbed out of grief on the Internet, to see what knowledgeable people can offer from this misfortune. It turned out that knowledgeable people from the MAXIM corporation can indeed offer something. They produce a series of microcircuits for charging almost any type of battery from a computer's USB port. One of them will be discussed now - on the topic of the day, it will be a charger for LiIon batteries.

There isn't even much to say. But since it’s still necessary, I’ll say a little. For starters, about the USB port itself. It just so happened that from this port, depending on its type - a host or a hub, we can remove 500 or 100 milliamps of pure current for our own needs. But since the microcircuit does not know exactly where it was inserted, it limits the battery charge current to 100mA. However, it has one more input - any power source can be connected to it, including the Chinese "cube", which is simply plugged into the outlet, after which it starts to warm up. In this case, the charge current will be already 350mA. If you manage to connect two sources at once - both USB and a power source, then the microcircuit will choose the latter, in the sense of not the last connected one, but the power source.

The HL1 LED is on until the battery is charged. Considering that there are not a lot of components in the circuit, and the microcircuit itself is produced in the THIN SOT 23 package, nothing prevents us from making this thing quite tiny, stuffing it inside some kind of USB connector and bringing out only the wire for connecting to the phone. And you can charge your mobile phone from anything at all - as long as it has a USB port. By the way, about USB. Below is a diagram of the pins in this connector from the side of the computer.

Artificial leather for touch emulation 15.04.2024

In a modern technology world where distance is becoming increasingly commonplace, maintaining connection and a sense of closeness is important. Recent developments in artificial skin by German scientists from Saarland University represent a new era in virtual interactions. German researchers from Saarland University have developed ultra-thin films that can transmit the sensation of touch over a distance. This cutting-edge technology provides new opportunities for virtual communication, especially for those who find themselves far from their loved ones. The ultra-thin films developed by the researchers, just 50 micrometers thick, can be integrated into textiles and worn like a second skin. These films act as sensors that recognize tactile signals from mom or dad, and as actuators that transmit these movements to the baby. Parents' touch to the fabric activates sensors that react to pressure and deform the ultra-thin film. This ... >>

Petgugu Global cat litter 15.04.2024

Taking care of pets can often be a challenge, especially when it comes to keeping your home clean. A new interesting solution from the Petgugu Global startup has been presented, which will make life easier for cat owners and help them keep their home perfectly clean and tidy. The attractiveness of caring men 14.04.2024

The stereotype that women prefer "bad boys" has long been widespread. However, recent research conducted by British scientists from Monash University offers a new perspective on this issue. They looked at how women responded to men's emotional responsibility and willingness to help others. The study's findings could change our understanding of what makes men attractive to women. A study conducted by scientists from Monash University leads to new findings about men's attractiveness to women. In the experiment, women were shown photographs of men with brief stories about their behavior in various situations, including their reaction to an encounter with a homeless person. Some of the men ignored the homeless man, while others helped him, such as buying him food. A study found that men who showed empathy and kindness were more attractive to women compared to men who showed empathy and kindness. ... >>

Acer 4K monitor with NVIDIA G-Sync support 18.09.2014

Acer has begun shipping previously announced gaming monitors with support for NVIDIA G-Sync adaptive sync technology.

The XB270H model is not very interesting, although it supports a screen refresh rate of 144 Hz, but the XB280HK, although it has a refresh rate of only 60 Hz, boasts not only G-Sync support, but also a resolution of 3840x2160. The response time is stated at the level of one millisecond.

Among other features of the novelty, it is worth noting an ergonomic stand with wide possibilities for adjusting the height and angle of the screen, which is not so common these days among monitors aimed not at professionals, but at ordinary users. Even the portrait orientation of the panel is supported. For those who play or work in bright light, the Acer XB280HK is built with a ComfyView matte finish.

Bulk deliveries of the XB280HK and XB270H have already begun, monitors can be purchased for $600 for a model with a smaller diagonal and resolution, and $800 will have to be paid for a resolution of 3840x2160 bundled with NVIDIA G-Sync.

This monitor lacks only a higher quality matrix than TN, but then its price would be much higher. To connect to the gaming system, a DisplayPort 1.2 connector is used, but it is now found on any more or less modern graphics card.

Why so much fog - a USB port is needed only when charging from a computer, but from any IP - why?
