The proposed device was conceived as a control system for any processes or devices through a radio transmitter. DTMF signals are used as the encoding-decoding system.

scheme device is shown in Fig.1. The device itself consists of a DTMF decoder based on an MT8870 chip and a decoder based on a 155ID3 chip. For visual indication of the received code, there is a decoder on the K514ID1 chip and a seven-segment ALS321A indicator. This part of the circuit may not be used to simplify the design. The device is powered from a +5 V source. In this design, an integral stabilizer 7805 or a domestic equivalent (EN5A) is used.

The decoder allows you to connect up to 16 actuators. You just need to remember that the actuator must be controlled by TTL levels (0 and +5 V).

Executive device. Here, as an example, is a diagram that I used to determine the coverage of a portable radio transmitter and test various types of antennas. The circuit is made on a 556 chip (dual timer). You can use two timers of type 555 or their domestic counterpart - KR1000VI1. A tone generator is made on one of the halves of the timer, and a waiting multivibrator is made on the second half. The input of the device is connected to the loudspeaker of the radio station. The output of the tone generator is connected to the transmitter's microphone jack. When a command is received from the decoder to the waiting multivibrator, relay K1 (RES-94) is activated and its contacts K1.1 generates a PTT signal for two to three seconds to turn on the transmitter. Thus, when I send a command from a portable transmitter (in this case, the number "4"), I receive in response a tonal message from a stationary transmitter. This device is very convenient when determining the coverage area of a CB radio station installed on a car, you do not need to involve another person who would sit at the base station. Naturally, your mobile station must have a "beeper".

The board for the device was not developed. I did it on a breadboard (Fig. 2), leaving room on it for mounting various additional devices.

Of course, in addition to the service proposed above, this device can be used to remotely turn on / off various devices. Also, this scheme is suitable for radio control systems models. To do this, the transmitter must use a DTMF encoder chip used in telephony in dialers. The device can also be used in a telephone set. By supplementing your phone with an auto-hook circuit, you can use this device to control home appliances through your phone.

Artificial leather for touch emulation 15.04.2024

In a modern technology world where distance is becoming increasingly commonplace, maintaining connection and a sense of closeness is important. Recent developments in artificial skin by German scientists from Saarland University represent a new era in virtual interactions. German researchers from Saarland University have developed ultra-thin films that can transmit the sensation of touch over a distance. This cutting-edge technology provides new opportunities for virtual communication, especially for those who find themselves far from their loved ones. The ultra-thin films developed by the researchers, just 50 micrometers thick, can be integrated into textiles and worn like a second skin. These films act as sensors that recognize tactile signals from mom or dad, and as actuators that transmit these movements to the baby. Parents' touch to the fabric activates sensors that react to pressure and deform the ultra-thin film. This ... >>

Petgugu Global cat litter 15.04.2024

Taking care of pets can often be a challenge, especially when it comes to keeping your home clean. A new interesting solution from the Petgugu Global startup has been presented, which will make life easier for cat owners and help them keep their home perfectly clean and tidy. Startup Petgugu Global has unveiled a unique cat toilet that can automatically flush feces, keeping your home clean and fresh. This innovative device is equipped with various smart sensors that monitor your pet's toilet activity and activate to automatically clean after use. The device connects to the sewer system and ensures efficient waste removal without the need for intervention from the owner. Additionally, the toilet has a large flushable storage capacity, making it ideal for multi-cat households. The Petgugu cat litter bowl is designed for use with water-soluble litters and offers a range of additional ... >>

The attractiveness of caring men 14.04.2024

The stereotype that women prefer "bad boys" has long been widespread. However, recent research conducted by British scientists from Monash University offers a new perspective on this issue. They looked at how women responded to men's emotional responsibility and willingness to help others. The study's findings could change our understanding of what makes men attractive to women. A study conducted by scientists from Monash University leads to new findings about men's attractiveness to women. In the experiment, women were shown photographs of men with brief stories about their behavior in various situations, including their reaction to an encounter with a homeless person. Some of the men ignored the homeless man, while others helped him, such as buying him food. A study found that men who showed empathy and kindness were more attractive to women compared to men who showed empathy and kindness. ... >>

Far vision through phone 08.05.2004

The South Korean company SK Telecom has offered a new service to cell phone owners.

Now the happy owner of a mobile handset, who has paid for the corresponding service, will receive an SMS-message that an intruder has entered his house. For this, a motion-detecting webcam located in a protected area is used, connected to the Internet via a wireless broadband connection.

If necessary, the subscriber can independently initiate a "video session" with the protected premises, having received a live "picture" from the web-camera on his phone. Each such "video request" will cost the "inquisitive" owner of an apartment or office 0,26 USD. Test operation of service was planned to begin in April.
