ENCYCLOPEDIA OF RADIO ELECTRONICS AND ELECTRICAL ENGINEERING How to search for treasures. Encyclopedia of radio electronics and electrical engineering Encyclopedia of radio electronics and electrical engineering / metal detectors It is impossible to reread everything that is written about the treasures. These are folk tales, and fairy tales, and exciting adventure stories. There are many scientific books on this topic, because treasures exist not only in the imagination, they are actually found. According to the most conservative estimates, the value of the treasures hidden in the soil of Russia is estimated at 1,5 trillion dollars. From generation to generation, legends about the treasures of Kudeyar, Kondratiy Bulavin, Marina Mnishek, Emelyan Pugachev, Ermak and others are passed on. It is known that Napoleon's troops tried to take the stolen valuables out of Russia along the Smolensk road, but barely got out on their own. The values have disappeared. Where is all this? Many treasures were hidden in the period 1917-1920. Until now, the gold of Kolchak, Makhno, the Kuban Rada, the values of the last Russian emperor, taken out in 1918 to Tobolsk, where most of them remained after the family of Nicholas II was transferred to Yekaterinburg, has not been found. Many treasures were buried during the Great Patriotic War, when large masses of people (Volga Germans, Crimean Tatars, Ingush and Chechens) were deported in 24 hours. They hide valuables in the ground even in our time, not trusting them either to banks or hiding places in their homes. The most mysterious and incredible stories happened with various treasures during the Second World War.
In the Soviet military archives, especially in various materials of interrogations of prisoners (all of which have been preserved), there is a lot of data on buried valuables. Of course, there is a lot of fiction, but there are also truthful testimonies. A lot of interesting data for treasure hunters is also stored in trophy archives taken out of Germany. But not all of these archives are collected in Podolsk. Many archives have their own funds. Such archives are located in Ukraine, Lithuania, Pskov and other places. Of great interest to treasure hunters are German maps of the end of the war. The maps of the Courland cauldron are very valuable. At the end of the war, everyone knew that Germany's surrender was inevitable. Many Wehrmacht officers buried various valuables in the ground, and did so near topographical landmarks in the hope of easily finding them after the war. The Kaliningrad region is especially rich in such treasures. Many legendary treasures are also known in Central Russia, the Urals and Siberia. During the last centuries, enthusiasts have made attempts to find them, but to no avail. Apparently, this business requires a lot of perseverance and intuition. Or maybe they really are talking? An example of a successful treasure hunter of one of the legendary treasures is Heinrich Schliemann, who unearthed Ancient Troy, which is mentioned by Homer as a mythical city that existed 200 years before Homer himself. Schliemann's intuition and scattered information in the mythology of the ancient Greek epic gave brilliant results in 1909, when he found this myth not only documentary, but also material confirmation in the form of gold items from the treasures of King Priam.
Treasure hunting is a very serious business and requires careful planning, loans, modern technology. Abroad, treasure hunting is a whole growing industry. Purposeful search for treasures differs significantly from the search for coins. The skills of working with the device, of course, will be useful to you, but the tactics and search strategy will be different. No one will tell you where there are good places to look (be it coins, gold nuggets, treasures, etc.). You yourself must find them through research, and then check these places in practice. The search for treasures requires, first of all, long and painstaking work in libraries and archives, test trips for reconnaissance on the ground, conversations with old-timers, etc. This is done by professionals, who spend 99% of their time on research and preparation. Beginners sometimes also find treasures, but this happens quite by accident. Practice shows that the treasures were buried shallowly - usually 1-2 bayonets of a shovel (25-50 cm), and in softer ground, since it is easier to dig. Therefore, if the treasure is large enough, then even a simple metal detector will be able to detect it. Hoards of nickels are not uncommon, numbering from 200 to 1000 or more coins. Treasures of the period of the XV-XVII centuries. were, as a rule, small and totaled 50-500 silver kopecks. And in order to detect them, it is necessary to use devices with increased sensitivity using a large coil (Tejon Tesoro, XLT or DFX White's, Explorer II or SE, GTI 2500 Garrett, etc.). The use of headphones allows you to better hear signals from deeper finds. Work should be carried out in the "All metals" mode, i.e. without discrimination. If you tune out from the iron, then you can miss the treasure of gold or silver coins hidden in an iron jar or a piece of pipe. Special depth instruments with spaced antennas - TM 808, Geminy-Z - allow you to quickly examine large areas and detect objects the size of a liter jar at a depth of 100-130 cm. Moreover, they do not react to small metal debris. These devices are carried by the handle, like a suitcase, i.e. do not drive them from side to side. The threshold tone changes slightly with the beat of the walk. If the ground is mineralized and there is interference, you should raise the device above the ground and reduce the sensitivity. When an object is detected, the volume of the threshold tone increases significantly. Stick a peg in the ground where it happened, then after walking forward a few meters, turn around and walk in the opposite direction. In the place where the threshold tone has increased, stick a second peg into the ground. The object will be in the middle between these two pegs. For a more accurate location, walk with the device in a perpendicular direction, sticking two more pegs. Then you can dig out the find, or at least check it with a probe if the ground allows. A successful treasure hunt requires extensive experience with a metal detector and the ability to analyze. You must learn to put yourself in the position of the person who has buried the treasure you are looking for. If you are burying a treasure, you must choose some hidden place and a certain time (night, rain). And this place should be such that you can then find it. Practice burying treasure. Take a jar of coins or something like that and try to bury it somewhere. Having done this, ask yourself a few questions that the person who buried the treasure probably also faced. Will you do it during the day? Will you go out into the yard and start digging a hole? Probably not, because you don't want anyone to see what you're doing. That is, choose the right time and the right place to bury the treasure. Will I be able to find it easily later? Will someone else accidentally discover it? Is this place safe? Many other questions will arise when you dig up your own treasure and hide it elsewhere. Such training is useful because it develops your imagination and helps in finding treasures. In addition to a metal detector, you must have a shovel with a long handle. If the ground permits, it is sometimes useful to use a feeler gauge made from a hardened steel bar 1 cm in diameter. By learning how to work with a probe, you will be able to determine the material that the probe runs into - glass, a rusty bucket, stone, wood, bones, etc. It should be borne in mind that the search for treasures is associated with large financial costs. In addition to acquiring a deep instrument, a lot of time and money is spent on intensive trips to find out the existence of the treasure. Sometimes you have to pay a lot of money for information about the treasure, which, when checked, may turn out to be unreliable. In order not to be disappointed, which is typical for newcomers to this business, it is recommended to work on several projects at the same time. Experienced treasure hunters try not to draw attention to themselves. Instruments and other equipment are carried in backpacks or bags. Sometimes they even work at night, since computer devices, having a display backlight, allow this to be done. It happens that you may be invited to help find a treasure hidden somewhere in the garden by relatives during the revolution or the Great Patriotic War. If you already have experience, do not refuse such work, but be sure to first draw up an agreement in writing, where you stipulate payment for this service in the form of a certain percentage of the treasure found - usually from 20 to 50% by agreement, although by law in In this case, you are entitled to 50%. However, some owners of the land, having presented a chest with gold, believe that a smaller share than half of the treasure will be enough for you. Sometimes it makes sense to agree with them, even though the treasure actually turns out to be small. Author: Bulgak L.V. See other articles Section metal detectors.
