The figure shows a schematic diagram of a four-channel stroboscope. His lamps flash alternately, for a while in one sequence, then for a while in another. The flash frequency can be smoothly changed with a variable resistor R1. The design uses low-power flash lamps IFK-120 or IFK-80.

Four-channel stroboscope, diagram

On the elements DD1.1, DD1.2, a generator of strobe pulses is assembled, which are fed to the corresponding input of DD2. The frequency of this generator can be smoothly changed by resistor R1. The second generator on the elements DD1.3. DD1.4 generates switching pulses to control DD2 inputs SR and SL.

The DD2 microcircuit is a shift register, and its switching circuit is such that with the arrival of the next clock pulse, a cyclic (in a circle) shift of the information recorded in the register occurs. The shift direction is set by a combination of signals at the inputs SR and SL. If at the input SR - logical 1 and at the input SL - logical 0, then there is a shift to the right, with opposite signals at the inputs - a shift to the left. Thus, the lamps HL1, HL2, HL3, HL4, controlled by signals from the outputs of the shift register DD2, will alternately flash. Automatic change of flash direction is carried out by the generator on DD1.3, DD1.4. Transistor VT1 is used to invert the generator signal. The control pulses from the DD2 microcircuit are fed through the capacitances C3, C4, C5, C6 to the transistor switches VT2-VT5, which control the high-voltage pulse transformers TR1-TP4.

Chips DD1, DD2 are powered by a stabilized +5 V power supply on the KR142EN5A chip. An unstabilized voltage of +10 V is supplied to the transistor keys. Protective diodes VD6-VD9 are included in the collector circuits of the key transistors.

The storage capacity C7 is charged from the mains ~ 220 V through a rectifier diode VD5 and a current-limiting resistor R15. The KH1 button is used to remove the residual charge from the capacitance C7 after finishing work with the stroboscope and when setting up. LED HL5 is designed to control the discharge of capacitor C7.

Transformers TP1-TP4 are manufactured independently. They are wound on ferrite rods with a diameter of 3 mm and a length of about 15 mm from 600NN grade ferrite. Winding I contains 20 turns of wire PEL-1 0.25. winding And contains 800 turns of wire PEL-1 0.07. Each winding layer is carefully insulated with capacitor paper. After manufacturing, the transformer can be immersed in molten paraffin, which will provide additional electrical insulation and fix the windings.

The TR5 power transformer can also be made independently, but any ready-made one with a power of at least 6 ... 8 W and an output voltage of 8 ... 12 V can also be used.

In the case when the lamps are mounted in separate housings, a pulse transformer that controls the ignition is placed directly next to the lamp. The length of the cable connecting the lamp and transformer unit to the control unit must not exceed 20 m.

When manufacturing, setting up and operating the device, precautions for working with high voltage must be observed.

Energy from space for Starship 08.05.2024

Producing solar energy in space is becoming more feasible with the advent of new technologies and the development of space programs. The head of the startup Virtus Solis shared his vision of using SpaceX's Starship to create orbital power plants capable of powering the Earth. Startup Virtus Solis has unveiled an ambitious project to create orbital power plants using SpaceX's Starship. This idea could significantly change the field of solar energy production, making it more accessible and cheaper. The core of the startup's plan is to reduce the cost of launching satellites into space using Starship. This technological breakthrough is expected to make solar energy production in space more competitive with traditional energy sources. Virtual Solis plans to build large photovoltaic panels in orbit, using Starship to deliver the necessary equipment. However, one of the key challenges ... >>

New method for creating powerful batteries 08.05.2024

With the development of technology and the expanding use of electronics, the issue of creating efficient and safe energy sources is becoming increasingly urgent. Researchers at the University of Queensland have unveiled a new approach to creating high-power zinc-based batteries that could change the landscape of the energy industry. One of the main problems with traditional water-based rechargeable batteries was their low voltage, which limited their use in modern devices. But thanks to a new method developed by scientists, this drawback has been successfully overcome. As part of their research, scientists turned to a special organic compound - catechol. It turned out to be an important component that can improve battery stability and increase its efficiency. This approach has led to a significant increase in the voltage of zinc-ion batteries, making them more competitive. According to scientists, such batteries have several advantages. They have b ... >>

Alcohol content of warm beer 07.05.2024

Beer, as one of the most common alcoholic drinks, has its own unique taste, which can change depending on the temperature of consumption. A new study by an international team of scientists has found that beer temperature has a significant impact on the perception of alcoholic taste. The study, led by materials scientist Lei Jiang, found that at different temperatures, ethanol and water molecules form different types of clusters, which affects the perception of alcoholic taste. At low temperatures, more pyramid-like clusters form, which reduces the pungency of the "ethanol" taste and makes the drink taste less alcoholic. On the contrary, as the temperature increases, the clusters become more chain-like, resulting in a more pronounced alcoholic taste. This explains why the taste of some alcoholic drinks, such as baijiu, can change depending on temperature. The data obtained opens up new prospects for beverage manufacturers, ... >>

Our mirror neurons are dependent on money. 28.10.2019

A person's ability to empathize with others depends on what social class they belong to, says Michael Varnum, a neuroscientist at the University of Arizona.

To study the level of empathy, an American scientist invited 58 people from different walks of life to participate. As part of the experiment, volunteers had to fill out a questionnaire, answering a list of questions about their parents' education, total family income, wages, and so on. The participants were then asked to undergo an electroencephalographic study. At the same time, they were shown pictures of people with neutral facial expressions and people whose faces were contorted in pain. The subjects were constantly asked to look at an object. Thus, the faces were only a distraction, so the volunteers should not have guessed that the level of their ability to empathize with other people was being analyzed.

The results of the experiment showed that the nervous system of people with a higher socioeconomic status practically did not react to someone else's pain. At the same time, researchers have found that people from a lower social class have a more sensitive mirror neuron system, which makes them better able to empathize.

There are other explanations for why people from poorer backgrounds show more empathy and concern for others. Scientists believe that the poorer a person, the more often he is forced to place his hopes on other people. In addition, if he lives in a dangerous environment, he needs to listen to others in order to protect himself and loved ones. Rich people, on the other hand, are more focused on themselves and their goals and can afford to ignore outsiders.
