Triacs are symmetrical trinistors that operate with any polarity of the voltage at the anode. They are used in household dimmers SRP-0,2-1.

Installation - three-channel. The audio frequency signal is fed to its input through a step-up transformer T1, which also acts as a decoupling element between the output of the amplifier 34 and the lighting network. The installation uses the simplest frequency crossover filters R2C1, R4C2 and R6C3 .. Trimmer resistors R1, R3 and R5 - channel sensitivity controls.

The set-top box uses fixed MLT resistors, paper capacitors for a nominal voltage of 600 V and an output transformer from the Record-305 tube receiver (it can be from any other similar receiver of the second - fourth classes).

When mounting, triacs V1-V3 must be installed on heat sinks with dimensions of 50 x 150 mm made of sheet duralumin or brass with a thickness of 3 ... 4 mm. For safety reasons, heat sinks with triacs and all other parts of the installation must be mounted on an insulating base and placed in a case of the same material. When used as trimming variable resistors with metal axes, pieces of a PVC tube must be put on the latter.

Alcohol content of warm beer 07.05.2024

Beer, as one of the most common alcoholic drinks, has its own unique taste, which can change depending on the temperature of consumption. A new study by an international team of scientists has found that beer temperature has a significant impact on the perception of alcoholic taste. The study, led by materials scientist Lei Jiang, found that at different temperatures, ethanol and water molecules form different types of clusters, which affects the perception of alcoholic taste. At low temperatures, more pyramid-like clusters form, which reduces the pungency of the "ethanol" taste and makes the drink taste less alcoholic. On the contrary, as the temperature increases, the clusters become more chain-like, resulting in a more pronounced alcoholic taste. This explains why the taste of some alcoholic drinks, such as baijiu, can change depending on temperature. The data obtained opens up new prospects for beverage manufacturers, ... >>

Major risk factor for gambling addiction 07.05.2024

Computer games are becoming an increasingly popular form of entertainment among teenagers, but the associated risk of gaming addiction remains a significant problem. American scientists conducted a study to determine the main factors contributing to this addiction and offer recommendations for its prevention. Over the course of six years, 385 teenagers were followed to find out what factors may predispose them to gambling addiction. The results showed that 90% of study participants were not at risk of addiction, while 10% became gambling addicts. It turned out that the key factor in the onset of gambling addiction is a low level of prosocial behavior. Teenagers with a low level of prosocial behavior do not show interest in the help and support of others, which can lead to a loss of contact with the real world and a deepening dependence on virtual reality offered by computer games. Based on these results, scientists ... >>

Traffic noise delays the growth of chicks 06.05.2024

The sounds that surround us in modern cities are becoming increasingly piercing. However, few people think about how this noise affects the animal world, especially such delicate creatures as chicks that have not yet hatched from their eggs. Recent research is shedding light on this issue, indicating serious consequences for their development and survival. Scientists have found that exposure of zebra diamondback chicks to traffic noise can cause serious disruption to their development. Experiments have shown that noise pollution can significantly delay their hatching, and those chicks that do emerge face a number of health-promoting problems. The researchers also found that the negative effects of noise pollution extend into the adult birds. Reduced chances of reproduction and decreased fertility indicate the long-term effects that traffic noise has on wildlife. The study results highlight the need ... >>

Navigation module TESEO-LIV3F 20.10.2017

STMicroelectronics launches its first TESEO-LIV3F GNSS navigation module. The module is built on its own chipset and allows you to determine the location of an object with high accuracy - up to 1,5 m (CEP). The module works with almost all currently available satellite constellations (GPS, Galileo, Glonass, BeiDou, QZSS). Due to the large built-in flash memory, the module can act as a data logger.

TESEO-LIV3F outputs standard NMEA messages. The specific set of output strings can be changed by the user using control commands. The developer can also change other parameters of the FW module, based on his switching scheme and the required functionality.

The module has a built-in function to control going beyond certain boundaries (Geofencing). When a module is moved from a user-defined area, TESEO-LIV3F will automatically report this in an NMEA message. A special built-in ST-AGNSS mechanism allows for a quick start in the absence of satellite signals for up to 14 days. To download the necessary information via the Internet, GPStream technology from RxNetworks is used.

The miniature GNSS module measures 9,7 x 10,1 x 2,5 mm. The module operates from a supply voltage of 2,1 - 4,3 V, while it is possible to use a separate power supply for the main part and for the interface. For communication with the host, UART and I2C interfaces are used. The module supports NMEA 0183 Version 4.0 and RTCM Version 2.3 protocols

TESEO-LIV3F Features:

Simultaneous work on different satellite constellations.
Navigation sensitivity 163 dBm.
Accuracy 1,5 m CEP.
Built-in logger function (16 Mbit Flash).
Firmware update.
Supply voltage 2,1 - 4,3 V.
Miniature housing LCC 18 pin (9,7x10,1).
Low consumption (17 microwatts standby; 75 milliwatts tracking).
Operating temperature -40° ... 85°C.
