An electronic simulator, the schematic diagram of which is shown in fig. 1, mimics the sound of a siren. The device consists of two identical audio frequency generators assembled on transistors VT1, VT2 and VT3, VT4 of different structures according to the asymmetric multivibrator circuit.

As a result of the interaction of acoustic vibrations close in frequency, emitted by the dynamic heads BA1 and BA2, working as a "duet", the nature of the sound differs sharply from the usual tone signal emitted by one head. The sound acquires an unusual pleasant coloring, becomes saturated, colorful, enriched with overtones. When the heads are placed at some distance from each other, an effect close to stereophonic is observed.

The positive feedback circuit is made up of resistor R3 (R6) and capacitor C1 (C2). The parameters of these elements determine the main operating frequency of generation, as well as the volume of the sound reproduced by the dynamic head BA1 (BA2), which is the load of the generator. The divider of resistors R1 (R4) and R2 (R5) creates the necessary bias voltage based on VT1 (VT3), which determines the mode of operation for direct and alternating current of each pair of interconnected transistors.

To exclude the influence of the generators on each other due to galvanic coupling, each is equipped with an autonomous power supply G1 and G2. Turn on the simulator with the double button SB1.

Any transistors of the series KT201, KT301, KT306, KT312, KT315, KT342, KT373 (npn) and MP13-MP16, MP20, MP25, MP26, MP39 - MP42 (pnp) with a base current transfer coefficient of at least 30 can be used in the device. MLT-0,125 or MLT-0,5, capacitors MBM, KM and others. Dynamic heads with a power of 0,1-2 W, with a voice coil DC resistance of 4 - 16 ohms. Instead, you can use electromagnetic telephone capsules with a coil resistance to direct current of 30-200 ohms (for example, DEMSH-1, DEM-4m, TM-2A). In this case, the resistance of resistors R1, R4 should be increased. Pushbutton switch type KM2-1. Power - elements 332, 343 or 373.

Establishment comes down to serial tuning of generators. First, the power source is connected to the first of them and by selecting the resistance of the resistor R2, the highest volume of the sound signal is achieved. Then the same operation is repeated for the second generator. After that, both generators are turned on at once and their joint action is listened to, experimentally determining the best relative position of the heads (in a real design). The operating frequency of the generators is selected by changing the capacitance of the capacitors C1, C2 within 0,033-0,25 μF. If their values differ, the character of the sound will be different, but interesting in its own way.

Artificial leather for touch emulation 15.04.2024

In a modern technology world where distance is becoming increasingly commonplace, maintaining connection and a sense of closeness is important. Recent developments in artificial skin by German scientists from Saarland University represent a new era in virtual interactions. German researchers from Saarland University have developed ultra-thin films that can transmit the sensation of touch over a distance. This cutting-edge technology provides new opportunities for virtual communication, especially for those who find themselves far from their loved ones. The ultra-thin films developed by the researchers, just 50 micrometers thick, can be integrated into textiles and worn like a second skin. These films act as sensors that recognize tactile signals from mom or dad, and as actuators that transmit these movements to the baby. Parents' touch to the fabric activates sensors that react to pressure and deform the ultra-thin film. This ... >>

Petgugu Global cat litter 15.04.2024

Taking care of pets can often be a challenge, especially when it comes to keeping your home clean. A new interesting solution from the Petgugu Global startup has been presented, which will make life easier for cat owners and help them keep their home perfectly clean and tidy. Startup Petgugu Global has unveiled a unique cat toilet that can automatically flush feces, keeping your home clean and fresh. This innovative device is equipped with various smart sensors that monitor your pet's toilet activity and activate to automatically clean after use. The device connects to the sewer system and ensures efficient waste removal without the need for intervention from the owner. Additionally, the toilet has a large flushable storage capacity, making it ideal for multi-cat households. The Petgugu cat litter bowl is designed for use with water-soluble litters and offers a range of additional ... >>

The attractiveness of caring men 14.04.2024

The stereotype that women prefer "bad boys" has long been widespread. However, recent research conducted by British scientists from Monash University offers a new perspective on this issue. They looked at how women responded to men's emotional responsibility and willingness to help others. The study's findings could change our understanding of what makes men attractive to women. A study conducted by scientists from Monash University leads to new findings about men's attractiveness to women. In the experiment, women were shown photographs of men with brief stories about their behavior in various situations, including their reaction to an encounter with a homeless person. Some of the men ignored the homeless man, while others helped him, such as buying him food. A study found that men who showed empathy and kindness were more attractive to women compared to men who showed empathy and kindness. ... >>

A good example is also contagious 11.03.2009

Not only bad examples are contagious. A sociological survey of more than 12 people and 53 of their relatives, friends and acquaintances, conducted in the United States, showed that one smoker who decided to "quit" causes a chain reaction of the same refusals from cigarettes among his entourage. So, if a husband or wife quits smoking, the second partner also quits in 67% of cases.

In a group of friends, the imitation effect is 36%, the same is in labor collectives, though only in small ones, where people constantly communicate with each other.
