The proposed power supply is designed to power 3-volt players, receivers, etc. It allows you to simultaneously charge their batteries (AB). The power supply is built according to a scheme similar to [1]. It provides up to 200mA output current as well as output short circuit protection. When a short circuit occurs at the output of the power supply, the short circuit current does not exceed 50 mA, while the VD13 LED goes out.

The charger provides battery charging with a current adjustable from 70 to 220 mA in 10 mA steps. The required charging current is selected by the respective switches SA2...SA5. Diode VD11 is included in the circuit to increase the stability of the output current. When the battery is turned on for charging, the VD10 LED lights up.

Instead of transistors VT3, VT5, transistors from the KT835B, KT816 series are suitable. Transistor VT3 must be selected with a gain P21E of at least 25. It must be installed on a heat sink with an effective area of at least 25 cm2. VT5 is mounted on a small radiator (flag).

 MP20, MP21, MP25, MP26, it is desirable to choose with G121e at least 30. Transistor VT4 - any of the series KT361, KT3107 with a permissible collector-emitter voltage of at least 20 V. Diodes VD5, VD6, VD8, VD9, VD11 - any silicon. LEDs - from the AL307 series, with VD10 - green, VD13 - red.

Setting up the device consists in selecting resistors R7, R12, R14, R16, R18 to obtain the required charging current. Elements R9, R10, SA4.1, SA5.1 can be excluded from the circuit, but then you will have to install VT5 on a radiator with a larger area.

Machine for thinning flowers in gardens 02.05.2024

In modern agriculture, technological progress is developing aimed at increasing the efficiency of plant care processes. The innovative Florix flower thinning machine was presented in Italy, designed to optimize the harvesting stage. This tool is equipped with mobile arms, allowing it to be easily adapted to the needs of the garden. The operator can adjust the speed of the thin wires by controlling them from the tractor cab using a joystick. This approach significantly increases the efficiency of the flower thinning process, providing the possibility of individual adjustment to the specific conditions of the garden, as well as the variety and type of fruit grown in it. After testing the Florix machine for two years on various types of fruit, the results were very encouraging. Farmers such as Filiberto Montanari, who has used a Florix machine for several years, have reported a significant reduction in the time and labor required to thin flowers. ... >>

Advanced Infrared Microscope 02.05.2024

Microscopes play an important role in scientific research, allowing scientists to delve into structures and processes invisible to the eye. However, various microscopy methods have their limitations, and among them was the limitation of resolution when using the infrared range. But the latest achievements of Japanese researchers from the University of Tokyo open up new prospects for studying the microworld. Scientists from the University of Tokyo have unveiled a new microscope that will revolutionize the capabilities of infrared microscopy. This advanced instrument allows you to see the internal structures of living bacteria with amazing clarity on the nanometer scale. Typically, mid-infrared microscopes are limited by low resolution, but the latest development from Japanese researchers overcomes these limitations. According to scientists, the developed microscope allows creating images with a resolution of up to 120 nanometers, which is 30 times higher than the resolution of traditional microscopes. ... >>

Air trap for insects 01.05.2024

Agriculture is one of the key sectors of the economy, and pest control is an integral part of this process. A team of scientists from the Indian Council of Agricultural Research-Central Potato Research Institute (ICAR-CPRI), Shimla, has come up with an innovative solution to this problem - a wind-powered insect air trap. This device addresses the shortcomings of traditional pest control methods by providing real-time insect population data. The trap is powered entirely by wind energy, making it an environmentally friendly solution that requires no power. Its unique design allows monitoring of both harmful and beneficial insects, providing a complete overview of the population in any agricultural area. “By assessing target pests at the right time, we can take necessary measures to control both pests and diseases,” says Kapil ... >>

Smart gas meter 24.03.2018

The RSE series smart gas meter with 3GPP Narrowband IoT technology developed by Pietro Fiorentini in partnership with Huawei and Terranova Software has been approved for use in the European Union.

It is the first Narrowband IoT smart gas meter on the market to be approved under the EU Radio Emission Directive, the Measuring Instrument Directive and the Installation and Operation Directive. in a potentially explosive environment (Installations in Explosive atmosphere).

Huawei's NB-IoT Open Labs (NB-IoT Open Labs) became the pre-integration environment where Pietro Fiorentini tested and explored the potential of NB-IoT and integrated the end-to-end solution prior to trial and commercial. operation.

As part of the project, Terranova Software developed data acquisition and measurement data management systems and a network management program to ensure seamless interaction and full integration of the solution.

Pietro Fiorentini has already carried out successful practical tests of smart gas meters based on narrowband Internet of Things technology in Italy, Spain, China, Portugal, Iran, Sweden, Ireland, Lithuania, Estonia and Poland. Utilities can now manage their networks more efficiently, building a smarter and more responsible consumption model.

"We are proud to be the first company to receive the full set of approvals required to bring to market smart gas meters based on narrowband Internet of Things technology. We are now ready to begin mass production at our factories located in Italy and China" , said Cristiano Nardi, Executive Chairman of Pietro Fiorentini.

"Huawei is helping carriers around the world prepare for the commercial deployment of narrowband IoT technology," said Jiang Wangcheng, president of Huawei's IoT Solutions business. "Narrowband IoT is strategically important for many industries, including utilities. The fact that our Huawei IoT Open Labs help new partners become part of the ecosystem fully demonstrates our commitment to this idea. The countries of the European Union have committed to bring almost 45 million smart gas meters to the market. This means that about 45% of European consumers will use them by 2020."
