The proposed device uses the so-called phase-pulse method of regulating the average current through the load. It changes due to the fact that the load-lamp is connected to the network not directly, but by an electronic key some time after the next half-wave of the mains voltage appears. By changing this time, the power consumed by the load from the network can be adjusted from almost zero to a maximum. For a lamp lamp, this means changing the brightness of its glow.

When the contacts of the switch S1 are closed, the lamp L1 does not turn on immediately, but smoothly, depending on the capacitance, the capacitor C2. This increases the life of the lamp itself, as we know that lamps usually burn out when turned on - a sudden connection of voltage.

Lamp L1 (220V 100W) is actually a lamp. All resistors are 0,25W except for R8 which is 2W. When mounting, place this resistor 2mm above the board surface so that the rest of the parts do not heat up. Film capacitor C1, trinistor KU202L can be replaced with KU202K, KU202M, KU202N. Observe the conditions for its inclusion in the circuit. Connect incorrectly - will not work.

Ultra-reliable PX03SN Series SSDs from Toshiba 09.12.2013

Toshiba Corporation announced the expansion of the family of corporate solid state drives with new models. The PX03SN series SSDs are designed to support applications that are particularly demanding on read performance.

New items are made in a 2,5-inch form factor and are equipped with a high-speed SAS interface. The capacity of the models is up to 1,6 TB. Developers position their devices as ideal solutions for servers, storage systems, cloud infrastructure, and support for online transactions. New items include the possibility of regular full overwriting of data every day for five years (1 DWPD, Drive Write Per Day).

All drives use 19nm MLC NAND chips. Model PX03SNB180 with a capacity of 1,6 TB is characterized by a thickness of 15 mm. Models PX03SNF080, PX03SNF040 and PX03SNF020 have capacities of 800, 400 and 200 GB, respectively. Their thickness is only 7 mm. The manufacturer did not specify the prices of new products in its press release.

Note that Toshiba's product range also includes high-end PX02SS Series drives, which are 30 times more reliable than the PX03SN series (30 DWPD). For the mass segment, enterprise-level models PX02SM Series with DWPD 10 are provided.
