EFFECTIVE FOCUSES AND THEIR CLUES Disappearance of a lady. Focus Secret Directory / Spectacular tricks and their clues Focus Description: The performer shows the audience three cards, folded into a small fan. He calls them one by one, and the audience sees that on the left is a six, in the center is a lady, and on the right is a deuce (Fig. 84, A). Turning the back of the fan, he repeats the order of the cards in the fan so that the audience remembers them. Then he takes the lady in the center and, placing her on the table, asks one of the spectators to close the card with his palm (Fig. 84, B). Now the performer has two cards left - a six and a deuce.
- I put the six in my pocket, - the performer says, - and the deuce remains in my hand. What card do you have on the table at hand? - Lady, - the viewer answers. Then the performer asks to open the card. The viewer opens it and shrugs his shoulders in surprise. Instead of a lady, he sees a six. Where did the lady go? The performer shows the audience the card that remains in his hand - this, as it should be, is a deuce. And what then did the performer put in his pocket? After all, the audience saw that the lady was in the center of the fan. It was this card that he put on the table and asked the viewer to keep at hand. And when the performer takes the card out of his pocket, it turns out to be a lady. Focus secret: For this trick, you will need five cards: two queens, two sixes and one deuce. Of these, one queen and one six make up one secret card. It is prepared as follows: a queen is placed on the six somewhat obliquely vertically - so that the three suit signs on the left side and the number "6" in the lower and upper left corners remain open. The rest of the six is covered by a lady. The left edge of the reverse side of the lady is glued vertically to the front side of the six with "adhesive tape". Then, turning the glued cards with the reverse side, cut off the excess part of the lady's card that goes beyond the frame of the six. Thus, the secret card from the front side will look like a card consisting of two vertical halves of a six and a queen. The reverse side of the card looks the same (Fig. 84, B). Half of the lady's card on the six is movable and opens in the form of a booklet. Now that we have a secret card, we can prepare the rest of the cards for the trick demonstration. The second lady is placed in the pocket beforehand. The second six is invested in a secret card between the half of the lady and the first six (Fig. 84, D). Three signs of the suit to the right of the nested six, which remain visible from under the lady, are closed by a deuce, also superimposed obliquely. Thus, in the hand of the performer is a small fan, consisting of three cards: six, queen and deuce. That's what the audience thinks. In fact, they see only half of the fictitious six, half of the fictitious lady, and only one real two (Fig. 84, E). She covers herself with a real six, who will act as a lady. Having shown this fan to the audience and named all three cards in order in order, the performer turns it back. He then draws the middle card from the fan - the spectators assume it is a lady - and places it on the table. Having invited one of the spectators to the stage, the performer invites him to close this card with his palm. In fact, at the viewer's hand is not a lady, but a six. And now two cards remained in the performer's hand: one is secret, the other is a deuce. The performer puts the secret card under the guise of a six in his pocket, and holds the deuce in his hand. Then he asks the audience how the three cards are placed. It is easy to remember and enumerate. The lady is on the table at the viewer's hand, he is sure of it, the deuce is in the performer's hand, and the six is in his pocket. - Let's see, - the performer says and shows the deuce, which he has in his hand. - The deuce is in place, but what do you have at hand? he asks the viewer standing at the illusion table. - Weird question! Of course, lady, - the viewer answers. Then the performer offers to open the card and show it to the audience. The viewer does just that - everyone sees the six. And, of course, bewildered. Where could the lady have gone? The performer takes out of his pocket, instead of a six, a lady hidden in advance.
