Although the power of household electric welding machines is low (only a few kilowatts), they greatly reduce the voltage of overloaded lines. This is especially noticeable in villages, where almost all lines are overloaded.

Work on an electric welding machine periodically, synchronously with the occurrence of an arc, causes a massive increase in current in the network wires. How to make sure that your electric welding does not create inconvenience to neighbors?

Usually, before welding, they write an application to the RES, where they indicate the number of the pole from which the current will be removed and the operating time on the welding machine. This means that you can connect the device not only to 220 V, but also to 380 V (Fig. 1).

Reducing the influence of electric welding machines on the network

To reduce the influence of the welding machine on the network, it is enough to wind the primary winding by 73% and connect it not to 220 V, but to the phase wires. If you equip the welding machine with a switch (Fig. 2), then you can use any (220-380 V) voltage.

Air trap for insects 01.05.2024

Agriculture is one of the key sectors of the economy, and pest control is an integral part of this process. A team of scientists from the Indian Council of Agricultural Research-Central Potato Research Institute (ICAR-CPRI), Shimla, has come up with an innovative solution to this problem - a wind-powered insect air trap. This device addresses the shortcomings of traditional pest control methods by providing real-time insect population data. The trap is powered entirely by wind energy, making it an environmentally friendly solution that requires no power. Its unique design allows monitoring of both harmful and beneficial insects, providing a complete overview of the population in any agricultural area. “By assessing target pests at the right time, we can take necessary measures to control both pests and diseases,” says Kapil ... >>

The threat of space debris to the Earth's magnetic field 01.05.2024

More and more often we hear about an increase in the amount of space debris surrounding our planet. However, it is not only active satellites and spacecraft that contribute to this problem, but also debris from old missions. The growing number of satellites launched by companies like SpaceX creates not only opportunities for the development of the Internet, but also serious threats to space security. Experts are now turning their attention to the potential implications for the Earth's magnetic field. Dr. Jonathan McDowell of the Harvard-Smithsonian Center for Astrophysics emphasizes that companies are rapidly deploying satellite constellations, and the number of satellites could grow to 100 in the next decade. The rapid development of these cosmic armadas of satellites can lead to contamination of the Earth's plasma environment with dangerous debris and a threat to the stability of the magnetosphere. Metal debris from used rockets can disrupt the ionosphere and magnetosphere. Both of these systems play a key role in protecting the atmosphere and maintaining ... >>

Solidification of bulk substances 30.04.2024

There are quite a few mysteries in the world of science, and one of them is the strange behavior of bulk materials. They may behave like a solid but suddenly turn into a flowing liquid. This phenomenon has attracted the attention of many researchers, and we may finally be getting closer to solving this mystery. Imagine sand in an hourglass. It usually flows freely, but in some cases its particles begin to get stuck, turning from a liquid to a solid. This transition has important implications for many areas, from drug production to construction. Researchers from the USA have attempted to describe this phenomenon and come closer to understanding it. In the study, the scientists conducted simulations in the laboratory using data from bags of polystyrene beads. They found that the vibrations within these sets had specific frequencies, meaning that only certain types of vibrations could travel through the material. Received ... >>

CC3235S is TI's first IoT WiFi-chip to support the 5GHz band 27.06.2019

The new dual-band 2,4/5 GHz wireless Wi-Fi microcontroller from Texas Instruments belongs to the SimpleLink family and is available in two versions:

1. The CC3235S includes 256KB of RAM, IoT network security, and MCU-level security features such as file system encryption and developer intellectual property protection (MCU image encryption).

2. The CC3235SF builds on the CC3235S and includes an additional 1MB of executable Flash memory for user application needs.

The SimpleLink WiFi CC3235x family of devices is a dual-band system-on-a-chip (SoC) solution that combines two processors within a single chip:

1. Application Processor: Arm Cortex-M4 MCU 80 MHz with 256 kB of RAM dedicated to the user and optional 1 MB of executable Flash memory.

2. Network processor to run all logical levels of Wi-Fi and Internet. This ROM-based subsystem completely offloads the host MCU and includes a 802.11GHz and 2,4GHz dual-band 5 a/b/g/n radio, a Baseband processor, and a MAC layer with powerful hardware cryptography.

The new SimpleLink CC3235S/CC3235SF Wi-Fi MCUs simplify IoT design and speed time to market with Wi-Fi CERTIFIED (MCU) certification.

Features of CC3235S:

Support for 802.11a (5 GHz).
BLE/2,4GHz collaboration (coexistence).
Switch antennas for better reception.
Enhanced security with FIPS 140-2 certification.
Up to 16 simultaneous secure sockets.
Certificate Signing Request (CSR).
Online Certificate Status Protocol (OCSP).
IoT power saving features (such as DMS, proxy ARP, etc.) certified by the Wi-Fi Alliance.
Reducing the load on the host during network operations.
Improved Quick Scan.
