The popular KR1006VI1 microcircuit contains two precision comparators, which provide a voltage comparison error of no worse than 1%. This microcircuit is the basis for building various devices: multivibrators, converters, delay units, etc.

I offer my version of the timer on KR1006VI1, which is distinguished by high stability of time intervals.

Stable timer on KR1006VI1

Timer DA1 is controlled by a high-level input pulse (logical "1") at input C (pin 7). When pin 7 is low (logic "0"), the comparator is disabled and capacitor C1 is not charged. Output 3 DA1 - high level. The timer is started by the SB1 button, but any control scheme with the corresponding output level ("1") can be used instead.

When the SB1 contacts open, i.e. a high level is applied to pin 7 of DA1, capacitor C1 is charged through the R2-VD2 circuit. The output (pin 3) is still high. After some time (with the R2 and C1 ratings indicated on the diagram - about 3 minutes), the voltage at C1 reaches the comparator trigger level, and a low level ("0") appears at the DAT output. In the future, it does not change (until the power of the node is turned off).

The time delay depends on the ratings of C1 and R2 and can vary widely.

Diodes VD1, VD2 are introduced into the circuit to reduce the effect of the leakage current of the capacitor C1 on the stability of the time interval. Diode VD3 prevents voltage surges when switching relay K1. Capacitor C3 smoothes the ripple of the power supply. Pin 3 of DA1 is connected to the reset input R (pin 4) to prevent the device from going into self-oscillating mode.

To control the timer in a non-contact way, instead of SB1, it is enough to install a simple inverter at the input (shown in the diagram by a dotted line).

The resistance R4 is selected depending on the magnitude of the input signal. The timer is triggered when "0" is applied to the VT2 base.

Fixed resistors - ~ MLT-0,25. Oxide capacitors C1 and C3 - K50-24 or similar, C2 - type KM6. Transistors - KT503, KT504. KT315 with any letter index. Diodes can be replaced with D220. D310, KD503 and similar.

Machine for thinning flowers in gardens 02.05.2024

In modern agriculture, technological progress is developing aimed at increasing the efficiency of plant care processes. The innovative Florix flower thinning machine was presented in Italy, designed to optimize the harvesting stage. This tool is equipped with mobile arms, allowing it to be easily adapted to the needs of the garden. The operator can adjust the speed of the thin wires by controlling them from the tractor cab using a joystick. This approach significantly increases the efficiency of the flower thinning process, providing the possibility of individual adjustment to the specific conditions of the garden, as well as the variety and type of fruit grown in it. After testing the Florix machine for two years on various types of fruit, the results were very encouraging. Farmers such as Filiberto Montanari, who has used a Florix machine for several years, have reported a significant reduction in the time and labor required to thin flowers. ... >>

Advanced Infrared Microscope 02.05.2024

Microscopes play an important role in scientific research, allowing scientists to delve into structures and processes invisible to the eye. However, various microscopy methods have their limitations, and among them was the limitation of resolution when using the infrared range. But the latest achievements of Japanese researchers from the University of Tokyo open up new prospects for studying the microworld. Scientists from the University of Tokyo have unveiled a new microscope that will revolutionize the capabilities of infrared microscopy. This advanced instrument allows you to see the internal structures of living bacteria with amazing clarity on the nanometer scale. Typically, mid-infrared microscopes are limited by low resolution, but the latest development from Japanese researchers overcomes these limitations. According to scientists, the developed microscope allows creating images with a resolution of up to 120 nanometers, which is 30 times higher than the resolution of traditional microscopes. ... >>

Air trap for insects 01.05.2024

Agriculture is one of the key sectors of the economy, and pest control is an integral part of this process. A team of scientists from the Indian Council of Agricultural Research-Central Potato Research Institute (ICAR-CPRI), Shimla, has come up with an innovative solution to this problem - a wind-powered insect air trap. This device addresses the shortcomings of traditional pest control methods by providing real-time insect population data. The trap is powered entirely by wind energy, making it an environmentally friendly solution that requires no power. Its unique design allows monitoring of both harmful and beneficial insects, providing a complete overview of the population in any agricultural area. “By assessing target pests at the right time, we can take necessary measures to control both pests and diseases,” says Kapil ... >>

Smart vest for the blind 05.08.2020

In the United States, a smart vest was introduced that will help visually impaired people navigate in space. It transmits obstacle data using pressure and vibrations.

Researchers at Harvard University have developed a soft robotic vest that uses cameras to guide visually impaired users. Computer vision finds, classifies and evaluates the movement of objects around the user. The device informs about them by means of pressure on the user's body, depending on the distance to the obstacles. This way they can know in advance that there is a road, a wall or an approaching person ahead.

The researchers describe the Foresight vest as "invisible, accessible and intuitive." It uses soft inflatable textiles and the vibrations will be soft so as not to frighten the user. At the same time, the materials for production are inexpensive, so they can be mass-produced. If some of the sensors fail, they can be replaced separately.

Scientists planned to make this device in the form of a bracelet, but the vest allows you to more effectively monitor the surrounding space, and then issue tactile commands in real time via Bluetooth. Engineers plan that the product will be supported by all current smartphones, however, these devices must be able to process AI data.
