The soft turn indicator (IMV) is designed to improve the consumer properties of wall rocker switches and to save the working life of incandescent lamps. IMV provides an economical (50% power) mode of operation of the lamps and their "soft" (two-stage) switching on to increase the service life.

Lamp soft start indicator

In an unlit room, the glow of the HL2 LED indicates the location of the SA1 key of the two-gang switch, which should be pressed to turn on the economy mode. The same key should be pressed first for a soft start, and after 0,1 ... 0,5 s - SA2 (normal mode. 100% power). The green glow of the two-color LED HL2 indicates the economical mode of operation of the HL1 lamp.

As you know, the filaments of incandescent lamps in a cold state have low resistance. Therefore, when the lamps are turned on, until they are warmed up and their resistance has not increased, a surge of current is observed, which is 8 ... 10 times the rated current of the lamp. Such a "starting" overload leads to the gradual destruction of the filaments, and the lamps most often burn out when they are turned on.

IMV allows you to increase the lamp life by 3 ... 10 times if the correct switching sequence is followed. First, you need to close the SA1 key (in this case, the indicator color changes from red to green), and after 0,1 ... 0,5 s - SA2 (in this case, the indicator goes out).

In the initial (open) state of SA1 and SA2, the HL2 indicator glows red, since alternating current flows through the elements HL1.R1 and HL2. The "green" part of HL2 also radiates, but due to the greater brightness of the "red" part, the green tint is almost imperceptible. The current flowing through the HL1-R1-HL2 circuit is incomparably small in relation to the operating current HL1, so the lamp does not glow.

When SA1 is closed, the positive half-waves of the mains voltage through the diode VD1 are fed to the lamp HL1, and it glows half-heartedly. Closing contacts 5A1 shunts the "red" part of the LED HL2. and it changes the glow color from red to green. If you do not need an economy mode, press SA2. The HL1 lamp glows at full incandescence, since both half-waves of the mains voltage now flow through it. and the HL2 indicator is shunted by closed SA2 contacts and goes out.

The IMV uses an OMLT-2 W resistor, a two-gang wall switch of any design (suitable with a combined common contact), designed for mains voltage (220 V). The two-color LED indicator KIPD41A can be replaced by a foreign L-15VE6W. Diode VD1 is replaced by others, for example, D226V. KD105B. KD205A. When using an incandescent lamp with a power of 1 W or more as HL100, diodes KD226V or KD202K (M. R) should be used.

R1 elements. HL2. VD1 are installed in the circuit breaker housing. To increase the mechanical strength of the circuit, the connection point R1 and HL2 is recommended to be soldered on the mounting tab.

With the value of the resistor R1 indicated on the diagram, its power load factor is only 0,17. This margin is necessary for minimal heating of the device. You can increase the brightness of the indicator by reducing the resistance of the resistor by half, but at the same time, it is advisable to drill several ventilation holes with a diameter of 1.5 ... 2,5 mm in the cover of the switch from below and from above.

Machine for thinning flowers in gardens 02.05.2024

In modern agriculture, technological progress is developing aimed at increasing the efficiency of plant care processes. The innovative Florix flower thinning machine was presented in Italy, designed to optimize the harvesting stage. This tool is equipped with mobile arms, allowing it to be easily adapted to the needs of the garden. The operator can adjust the speed of the thin wires by controlling them from the tractor cab using a joystick. This approach significantly increases the efficiency of the flower thinning process, providing the possibility of individual adjustment to the specific conditions of the garden, as well as the variety and type of fruit grown in it. After testing the Florix machine for two years on various types of fruit, the results were very encouraging. Farmers such as Filiberto Montanari, who has used a Florix machine for several years, have reported a significant reduction in the time and labor required to thin flowers. ... >>

Advanced Infrared Microscope 02.05.2024

Microscopes play an important role in scientific research, allowing scientists to delve into structures and processes invisible to the eye. However, various microscopy methods have their limitations, and among them was the limitation of resolution when using the infrared range. But the latest achievements of Japanese researchers from the University of Tokyo open up new prospects for studying the microworld. Scientists from the University of Tokyo have unveiled a new microscope that will revolutionize the capabilities of infrared microscopy. This advanced instrument allows you to see the internal structures of living bacteria with amazing clarity on the nanometer scale. Typically, mid-infrared microscopes are limited by low resolution, but the latest development from Japanese researchers overcomes these limitations. According to scientists, the developed microscope allows creating images with a resolution of up to 120 nanometers, which is 30 times higher than the resolution of traditional microscopes. ... >>

Air trap for insects 01.05.2024

Agriculture is one of the key sectors of the economy, and pest control is an integral part of this process. A team of scientists from the Indian Council of Agricultural Research-Central Potato Research Institute (ICAR-CPRI), Shimla, has come up with an innovative solution to this problem - a wind-powered insect air trap. This device addresses the shortcomings of traditional pest control methods by providing real-time insect population data. The trap is powered entirely by wind energy, making it an environmentally friendly solution that requires no power. Its unique design allows monitoring of both harmful and beneficial insects, providing a complete overview of the population in any agricultural area. “By assessing target pests at the right time, we can take necessary measures to control both pests and diseases,” says Kapil ... >>

Samsung has 7nm ready 07.07.2019

TSMC was the first semiconductor manufacturer to master the production of products according to 7 nm standards. And although technically this is a 7nm product, its performance is at the same levels that are expected from Intel's 10nm products. Samsung deliberately chose to slow down work on the process equivalent to TSMC's first-generation 7nm process in order to focus on the introduction of extreme ultraviolet lithography (EUV). According to the latest data, the development of EUV in Samsung is on track.

A report by Samsung researchers published at the VLSI Symposium shows that 7nm EUV technology is ready for mass production and is superior to conventional 7nm technology in product energy efficiency.

Samsung's 7nm EUV technology outperforms its predecessors in energy efficiency.

In addition, the South Korean manufacturer demonstrated samples of SRAM and provided data on the resistance of chips manufactured using 7nm EUV technology to high temperatures.
