This GSM-alarm device is designed for timely notification of an apartment break-in. The device is equipped with the function of dialing to the mobile phone of the owner of the apartment.

The alarm is equipped with four security loops. When one of them opens, the device will go into alarm mode.

Before turning on the device, you need to open the front door and discreetly turn on the toggle switch, which will be located in a secret place, after turning on the toggle switch, the LED will blink, and the device will wait until you leave the apartment and close all the doors. After all doors are closed, the LED will be permanently on. If the LED is off, then you have not closed all the doors, you will need to return to the apartment, close all the doors, check the sensors and then go out and close the door behind you. If after that the LED began to burn constantly, this means that the device has switched to armed mode.

When you open the front door, the device will immediately start ringing the owner's mobile phone, and the siren will turn on after 8 seconds. A delay of 8 seconds was made so that the owner, after opening the doors, had time to turn off the alarm and not disturb the neighbors with the howl of a siren. If during these 8 s. the device will not turn off, then the siren will turn on. After turning off the alarm, the siren will also turn off.

If other doors were opened, for example, balcony doors, the device will instantly turn on the siren and start calling the owner's mobile phone. Siren in alarm mode will be on for 40 seconds. After 40 s. the siren will turn off and the LED will start blinking, indicating that the loops have been violated. After the alarm is turned off, the LED will also turn off.

The device uses an Atmega16 microcontroller, it is quite cheap and easily accessible, and most importantly reliable! The device is powered by a 12 V AC adapter, the current consumed by the MK is scanty. As a mobile phone, I used an old, supported Simens A55 phone. But the device can use any phone that has a speed dial function. Relay 2 contacts should be soldered to the speed dial button on the phone. Switch S5 must be located in a hidden place. It is designed to turn on/off the alarm. In the diagram, the loops are shown as switches S1-S4. Loop S1 is designed for the door. A magnetic reed switch must be installed on the door. Other loops can be connected to other doors or sensors.

If necessary, you can change all time delays, the number of protected zones, as well as other device parameters. Changes will be made in the MK firmware.

Artificial leather for touch emulation 15.04.2024

In a modern technology world where distance is becoming increasingly commonplace, maintaining connection and a sense of closeness is important. Recent developments in artificial skin by German scientists from Saarland University represent a new era in virtual interactions. German researchers from Saarland University have developed ultra-thin films that can transmit the sensation of touch over a distance. This cutting-edge technology provides new opportunities for virtual communication, especially for those who find themselves far from their loved ones. The ultra-thin films developed by the researchers, just 50 micrometers thick, can be integrated into textiles and worn like a second skin. These films act as sensors that recognize tactile signals from mom or dad, and as actuators that transmit these movements to the baby. Parents' touch to the fabric activates sensors that react to pressure and deform the ultra-thin film. This ... >>

The attractiveness of caring men 14.04.2024

The stereotype that women prefer "bad boys" has long been widespread. However, recent research conducted by British scientists from Monash University offers a new perspective on this issue. They looked at how women responded to men's emotional responsibility and willingness to help others. The study's findings could change our understanding of what makes men attractive to women. A study conducted by scientists from Monash University leads to new findings about men's attractiveness to women. In the experiment, women were shown photographs of men with brief stories about their behavior in various situations, including their reaction to an encounter with a homeless person. Some of the men ignored the homeless man, while others helped him, such as buying him food. A study found that men who showed empathy and kindness were more attractive to women compared to men who showed empathy and kindness. ... >>

China's lunar program 06.11.2014

China has launched its first lunar mission to return a spacecraft.

The Long March 24C launch vehicle was launched from the Xichang Cosmodrome in the early hours of Friday, October 3, according to the Chinese State Administration for Science, Technology and Industry for National Defense.

During the mission (more precisely, its main eight-day part), the probe sent by the Long March 3C (its name is not disclosed) should fly around the Moon and, returning, on October 31, drop a test capsule into the Earth's atmosphere. The main purpose of the mission is to test the technologies that will be used in the next flight in 2017, during which samples of lunar soil should be delivered to Earth.

Also on the probe is a 4 M mini-device from the Luxembourg company LuxSpace, the signals of which can be tracked by radio amateurs. In addition, equipped with a dosimeter, it will transmit data on the level of radiation at all stages of the journey. The 4M launch is called the first private lunar mission. After dropping the capsule, the Chinese probe and 4 M will remain in Earth orbit.
