When installing a combination lock, it is not always possible to place the keypad close to the control circuit. In this case, the use of thyristors as triggers that store the correct combination of the typed code provides higher noise immunity and resistance to deliberate damage compared to circuits assembled only on CMOS microcircuits.

The scheme shown in Figure 2-20 allows you to restrict access to the premises of outsiders. To trigger the YA1 solenoid that opens the latch, it is necessary to dial a code of 4 digits (out of 10 possible) in a certain sequence.

The scheme works as follows. In the initial state, a log 1 enters the control input D1 6/12 through the resistor R1 and the internal key of the microcircuit will be closed. Pressing the buttons in the sequence S4 S3 S2 S1 will lead to the sequential opening of the corresponding thyristors VS4, VS3, VS2, VS1. The current through the resistors R8 R10 allow you to keep the triggered thyristors in the on state. Moreover, if any other button is mistakenly pressed when dialing a number, this will lead to the operation of the key on the element of the D1 chip. 3 which will ensure the appearance of a log 0 at the input D1. 1/6 - the key will open and the partially correct code will be reset.

With the correct dialing of the number, a current will flow through the resistors R6 R7 and the transistor VT1 will open. This will energize the electromagnet YA1. And so that the electromagnet is not energized for a long time after the operation of the element D1. 2, together with the charge circuit of the capacitor R11 C1, allows you to limit the duration of its operation to an interval of 24 s. The time is determined by the value of the capacitor C1. As soon as the voltage at the input D1 2/12 in the process of charging the capacitor reaches the threshold of the key, it will give the log "0" to the control D1.1, which will reset all thyristors to their original state.

The device can operate when the supply voltage changes within a wider range than indicated in the diagram, but its value is selected based on the value necessary for reliable operation of the applied electromagnet. When setting up the circuit, it may be necessary to select the values of the resistor R7 and capacitor C1.

Transistor VT1 has a high gain and can be replaced by two conventional ones included in the circuit shown in Fig. 2. 21. Thyristors can be used with any last letter in the designation. Capacitors are used K50 35 for an operating voltage of 40 V, and any resistors will fit.

The SB1 button is used to remotely open the lock indoors and must be rated for a current of 3 A.

All elements of the circuit, except for the transformer, VD5 VD8 diodes and YA1 electromagnet, are located on a single-sided printed circuit board, fig. 2.

For the convenience of changing the code and connecting the circuits from the dialing buttons, M2,5 screws are installed on the board (as shown in the figure), to which the desired wire is fixed. If you install an additional 16-pin connector (X2, Fig. 2. 23) with a replaceable code-setting plug, then changing the code will take a few seconds (if you prepare the plug with jumpers installed for the desired combinations of code numbers in advance).

One of the elements of the microcircuit is not used and it can be used to limit the required time for typing the code, which further complicates the selection of the code. An example of such a connection D1.4 is shown in fig. 2.24.

Artificial leather for touch emulation 15.04.2024

In a modern technology world where distance is becoming increasingly commonplace, maintaining connection and a sense of closeness is important. Recent developments in artificial skin by German scientists from Saarland University represent a new era in virtual interactions. German researchers from Saarland University have developed ultra-thin films that can transmit the sensation of touch over a distance. This cutting-edge technology provides new opportunities for virtual communication, especially for those who find themselves far from their loved ones. The ultra-thin films developed by the researchers, just 50 micrometers thick, can be integrated into textiles and worn like a second skin. These films act as sensors that recognize tactile signals from mom or dad, and as actuators that transmit these movements to the baby. Parents' touch to the fabric activates sensors that react to pressure and deform the ultra-thin film. This ... >>

Petgugu Global cat litter 15.04.2024

Taking care of pets can often be a challenge, especially when it comes to keeping your home clean. A new interesting solution from the Petgugu Global startup has been presented, which will make life easier for cat owners and help them keep their home perfectly clean and tidy. Startup Petgugu Global has unveiled a unique cat toilet that can automatically flush feces, keeping your home clean and fresh. This innovative device is equipped with various smart sensors that monitor your pet's toilet activity and activate to automatically clean after use. The device connects to the sewer system and ensures efficient waste removal without the need for intervention from the owner. Additionally, the toilet has a large flushable storage capacity, making it ideal for multi-cat households. The Petgugu cat litter bowl is designed for use with water-soluble litters and offers a range of additional ... >>

The attractiveness of caring men 14.04.2024

The stereotype that women prefer "bad boys" has long been widespread. However, recent research conducted by British scientists from Monash University offers a new perspective on this issue. They looked at how women responded to men's emotional responsibility and willingness to help others. The study's findings could change our understanding of what makes men attractive to women. A study conducted by scientists from Monash University leads to new findings about men's attractiveness to women. In the experiment, women were shown photographs of men with brief stories about their behavior in various situations, including their reaction to an encounter with a homeless person. Some of the men ignored the homeless man, while others helped him, such as buying him food. A study found that men who showed empathy and kindness were more attractive to women compared to men who showed empathy and kindness. ... >>

Imec Reference Antenna Module for 60 GHz Access Points 17.10.2018

To increase the volume of transmitted data, communication systems are beginning to conquer the millimeter wave band, in particular, the band around 60 GHz, which does not require frequency licensing to operate. He is open. Today, the 60 GHz 802.11ad standard is used to transmit data over very short distances (up to 10 meters, but in practice - almost close). For example, it turned out to be very relevant for headsets with immersion in virtual reality. A new 60 GHz 802.11ay standard is being prepared, which will expand the communication range from 10 to 300 meters. Also, the 60 GHz band can be used in 5G cellular networks to organize local subnets.

Phased antenna arrays (PAR) have been and remain one of the important components of millimeter-wave transceivers. The PAR can be used to control the antenna lobes, providing the maximum data rate over multiple channels with the best efficiency. In combination with RF power amplifiers, this is a rather expensive element of the transceiver system, which can be made cheaper with the help of unified reference modules. Pharrowtech, a business unit spun off from Imec as part of the institute's commercial incubator, has developed exactly such a module for distribution through OEM channels.

This is a module in the form of a compact active phased antenna array of 256 elements with 128 power amplifiers. The solution is assembled from "available" serial components and is presented as one of the most inexpensive among analogues. At the same time, the AFAR directivity angle is extremely wide, and the transmission range is unprecedentedly large. The solution is designed to create fixed access points for homes and service repeaters in the 60 GHz range to provide Internet to residents of rural areas, megacities and suburban areas.

Imec believes that 60GHz wireless technology will help close the need for high-speed digital communications even where cable Internet is offered. Deploying wireless points is faster and cheaper than laying cable, and moving to the 60 GHz band will solve the problem of increasing throughput.
