The generator provides stability (up to 30 MHz) sufficient for an amateur SSB transceiver. The generator circuit is shown in the figure.

Transistors V1 and V2 are connected in a common base circuit. The gain of the cascade on transistor V2 is close to unity, since its load is the low resistance of the emitter junction of transistor V1. The large collector junction resistance of transistor V2, included in the emitter circuit of transistor V1, creates a deep negative current feedback. Due to this, the output resistance of the cascade on the transistor V2 increases many times over and amounts to a few megaohms.

Such a high output impedance allows you to include the entire LC circuit in the collector circuit. A large load resistance allows you to get a high overall gain of the cascades (up to 1000) and establish a weak feedback (through the C4C6 divider), which reduces the effect on the emitter circuit of the transistor V2.

Stable smooth range generator up to 30 MHz

The output voltage is taken from the connection point of the transistors, low-resistance and well decoupled from the circuit. Therefore, the load has little effect on the generation frequency.

The generator used MLT-0,125 resistors, capacitors C3, C7, C8 - K10-7, C1 - KPVM-1, C2 - KSOT-1, C4 - KPK-MP. C6 - KD-2. C5 - CD-1.

For the frequency range of 28...29.7 MHz, a coil on an annular core of size K7x4x2 made of 7VCh ferrite was used. containing 9 turns of wire PELSHO 0.47.

The effective RF voltage at the output was 0,2 V. This voltage is sufficient to operate the mixer on germanium diodes. If the voltage needs to be increased, the D814A zener diode should be replaced with a higher stabilization voltage. An increase in the output voltage can also be obtained by reducing the resistance of the resistor R5.

After a ten-minute warm-up, the frequency drift of the generator (by 28 MHz) was 800 Hz for five minutes, and for the next five minutes - less than 100 Hz. After a half-hour warm-up, the generator frequency was in the range of inaudible beats for 10 minutes. In the absence of external electric and magnetic fields, the signal was almost sinusoidal.

Artificial leather for touch emulation 15.04.2024

In a modern technology world where distance is becoming increasingly commonplace, maintaining connection and a sense of closeness is important. Recent developments in artificial skin by German scientists from Saarland University represent a new era in virtual interactions. German researchers from Saarland University have developed ultra-thin films that can transmit the sensation of touch over a distance. This cutting-edge technology provides new opportunities for virtual communication, especially for those who find themselves far from their loved ones. The ultra-thin films developed by the researchers, just 50 micrometers thick, can be integrated into textiles and worn like a second skin. These films act as sensors that recognize tactile signals from mom or dad, and as actuators that transmit these movements to the baby. Parents' touch to the fabric activates sensors that react to pressure and deform the ultra-thin film. This ... >>

Petgugu Global cat litter 15.04.2024

Taking care of pets can often be a challenge, especially when it comes to keeping your home clean. A new interesting solution from the Petgugu Global startup has been presented, which will make life easier for cat owners and help them keep their home perfectly clean and tidy. Startup Petgugu Global has unveiled a unique cat toilet that can automatically flush feces, keeping your home clean and fresh. This innovative device is equipped with various smart sensors that monitor your pet's toilet activity and activate to automatically clean after use. The device connects to the sewer system and ensures efficient waste removal without the need for intervention from the owner. Additionally, the toilet has a large flushable storage capacity, making it ideal for multi-cat households. The Petgugu cat litter bowl is designed for use with water-soluble litters and offers a range of additional ... >>

The attractiveness of caring men 14.04.2024

The stereotype that women prefer "bad boys" has long been widespread. However, recent research conducted by British scientists from Monash University offers a new perspective on this issue. They looked at how women responded to men's emotional responsibility and willingness to help others. The study's findings could change our understanding of what makes men attractive to women. A study conducted by scientists from Monash University leads to new findings about men's attractiveness to women. In the experiment, women were shown photographs of men with brief stories about their behavior in various situations, including their reaction to an encounter with a homeless person. Some of the men ignored the homeless man, while others helped him, such as buying him food. A study found that men who showed empathy and kindness were more attractive to women compared to men who showed empathy and kindness. ... >>

The energy of a falling water drop 08.02.2020

City University of Hong Kong (CityU) has created a power generator based on a promising new method of converting water energy and featuring high efficiency using a FET-like structure.

Water, covering about 70% of the Earth's surface, is fraught with a huge potential for energy not used by man. The limitations of current technology do not allow efficient conversion into electricity of the low-frequency kinetic energy that is present in waves, tides, and even raindrops.

The CityU team spent two years of research to overcome the problem of low efficiency. As a result, the instantaneous energy density of their droplet generator DEG (Droplet-based Electricity Generator) can reach 50,1 W / m2, which is thousands of times higher than similar devices without the FET structure.

The efficiency of energy conversion has also increased significantly. A single drop of 100 microliters of water dropped from a height of 15 cm onto the surface of a plate of PTFE electret material allows DEG to generate over 140 volts, enough to light a hundred small LED lamps.

The device consists of two electrodes: aluminum and ITO coated with a PTFE film. The PTFE/ITO electrode is responsible for charge generation, storage and induction. When a drop of water hits and spreads over the PTFE/ITO surface, it connects both electrodes and forms a closed electrical circuit that releases the stored charge in the form of an electric current.

Scientists hope that the results of their research will help find an answer to the global problem of lack of renewable energy and will contribute to the sustainable development of the world. In the long term, the new design could be applied to a variety of surfaces where liquid contacts solid matter, from the hull of ferries, to umbrellas, or even the inside of water bottles.
