AC motor - an electrical machine in which the energy of a rotating electromagnetic field is converted into rotational or translational motion.

The operation of AC motors is based on the process of electromagnetic induction, which occurs when a conductive medium moves in a magnetic field.

As a conducting medium, a winding is usually used, consisting of a sufficiently large number of conductors interconnected in an appropriate way. The magnetic field in the electric motor is created either with the help of permanent magnets or exciting windings, which are flowed around by currents. Electric motors are reversible, that is, they can work to convert electrical energy into mechanical energy, and vice versa, in the generator mode.

Electric motors consist of a protective housing, in which there is a stationary hollow cylindrical stator, recruited from separate plates of electrical (magnetic) steel isolated from each other. On the inner side of the stator, in the grooves, there are turns of the excitation winding made of copper wire. Inside the stator there is a movable rotor rotating on a shaft, also consisting of steel plates, also insulated from each other with a heat-resistant varnish. In the grooves of the rotor are the turns of the copper winding. The stator winding is connected to an alternating current source.

AC motors are divided into synchronous и asynchronous, depending on the ratio of rotational speed to frequency.

AC motors have a rated duty that corresponds to continuous duty, intermittent duty, intermittent duty, or intermittent duty. Also, electric motors have nominal parameters.

In the manufacture and selection of electric motors, their operating conditions and climatic conditions are of great importance, depending on which different types of electric motors are used, which have design features that make them suitable for operation in various conditions.

When choosing an electric motor, it is necessary to take into account the coefficient of their efficiency, and it is also necessary to take into account the loss of electrical energy in the conductors that feed the electric motor.

Asynchronous motors are used in industry, for example, for drives of crane installations for general industrial purposes, as well as various cargo winches and other devices required in production.

It can be said that AC motors are of great importance for most types of industry.

Machine for thinning flowers in gardens 02.05.2024

In modern agriculture, technological progress is developing aimed at increasing the efficiency of plant care processes. The innovative Florix flower thinning machine was presented in Italy, designed to optimize the harvesting stage. This tool is equipped with mobile arms, allowing it to be easily adapted to the needs of the garden. The operator can adjust the speed of the thin wires by controlling them from the tractor cab using a joystick. This approach significantly increases the efficiency of the flower thinning process, providing the possibility of individual adjustment to the specific conditions of the garden, as well as the variety and type of fruit grown in it. After testing the Florix machine for two years on various types of fruit, the results were very encouraging. Farmers such as Filiberto Montanari, who has used a Florix machine for several years, have reported a significant reduction in the time and labor required to thin flowers. ... >>

Advanced Infrared Microscope 02.05.2024

Microscopes play an important role in scientific research, allowing scientists to delve into structures and processes invisible to the eye. However, various microscopy methods have their limitations, and among them was the limitation of resolution when using the infrared range. But the latest achievements of Japanese researchers from the University of Tokyo open up new prospects for studying the microworld. Scientists from the University of Tokyo have unveiled a new microscope that will revolutionize the capabilities of infrared microscopy. This advanced instrument allows you to see the internal structures of living bacteria with amazing clarity on the nanometer scale. Typically, mid-infrared microscopes are limited by low resolution, but the latest development from Japanese researchers overcomes these limitations. According to scientists, the developed microscope allows creating images with a resolution of up to 120 nanometers, which is 30 times higher than the resolution of traditional microscopes. ... >>

Air trap for insects 01.05.2024

Agriculture is one of the key sectors of the economy, and pest control is an integral part of this process. A team of scientists from the Indian Council of Agricultural Research-Central Potato Research Institute (ICAR-CPRI), Shimla, has come up with an innovative solution to this problem - a wind-powered insect air trap. This device addresses the shortcomings of traditional pest control methods by providing real-time insect population data. The trap is powered entirely by wind energy, making it an environmentally friendly solution that requires no power. Its unique design allows monitoring of both harmful and beneficial insects, providing a complete overview of the population in any agricultural area. “By assessing target pests at the right time, we can take necessary measures to control both pests and diseases,” says Kapil ... >>

WEpod unmanned buses 29.09.2015

Already this autumn, unmanned electric minibuses will be tested on the roads of Holland. If successful, electric passenger cars will be used in all Dutch cities in spring 2016.

Unmanned minibuses WEpod EZ-10 will appear on the roads of Holland in November this year and, if successfully tested, will be introduced into the transport infrastructure. WEpod is designed to carry six people, and will run between cities at a speed of 25 km/h. You can pay for travel directly from home using a mobile application.

WEpod uses electricity as fuel, so it is absolutely environmentally friendly. Also, the bus is equipped with a GPS system, radars, sensors and cameras that do not allow the bus to go astray or have an accident. In order to prevent emergency situations, the movement of buses will be controlled remotely from special command centers.
