The refinement consists in lowering the resonant frequency of the speaker and compression under the dome, as well as shielding the back from pressure with a small volume. The main and most difficult work is the core drilling of the magnetic system. ALPHARD surprises with good build quality, low price and ease of design for rework, especially in this case. When assembling the speaker, centering is not needed, everything falls into place.

Unscrew 4 screws on the front:

Carefully remove the cover. Most likely, it will be removed along with the diffuser, which we also remove.

After disassembly, we have 3 parts:

Magnetic system

An absorber is glued on the core, which must be removed

Diffuser with coil

Overlay.

There is oil in the gap of the magnetic system, which we also remove with the help of cotton wool wound on a toothpick.

As a result, we have two magnetic systems, which will undergo further development.

Before drilling, you need to seal the gap well to avoid chips from entering when drilling. Here I used tape with silicone at the core, but the sawdust still got in. It is better to fill the edge of the gap with silicone, and glue it on top. The silicone can then be easily removed in one piece. The hole must be made about 10 mm. Drill carefully, avoiding strong overheating of the magnetic system.

Drilled, removed all chips and dust. Make sure the gap is clean.

Now you need to put the absorber. Cotton wool, well fluffed, was used here. We put a little in the hole.

Now under the diffuser itself.

Now we collect everything in the reverse order.

It turned out like this.

Now it is necessary to protect the back of the speaker from the pressure of another (if it is installed in a common housing, for example with a woofer / midrange speaker). I made this with a can of Pringles chips. It is slightly larger than the diameter of the magnet, so it just fits. I used glue with a hot glue gun. We glue it to the magnet, but so that the speaker can be disassembled later. I spilled glue on the outside and inside. And pasted over the remnants of self-adhesive to strengthen the walls. The back part was made of 16 mm chipboard, glued with the same glue. Inside put a well-fluffed cotton wool.

I will not describe my experience, it is different for everyone. I can only say that the work was not in vain. The resonant frequency has dropped. The sound has become better, and it is noticeable, the sibilance has decreased, the sound has become lighter and more abrupt, and most importantly, more natural.
