A feature of the amplifier is the synchronous (with a signal) power supply of the stage on the operational amplifier with varying voltages and the use of mode B in the output stage.

Economy Amplifier

The main parameters:

  • Rated frequency range, Hz.......10...50000
  • Rated output power at a load with a resistance of 8 ohms (with a harmonic coefficient of 0,2%), W.......10
  • Rated input voltage, V ....... 1
  • Input impedance, kOhm.......5
  • Quiescent current, mA.......15

The amplifier contains a signal voltage amplification stage on the operational amplifier A1 and an output stage on transistors V5-V8.

In the absence of a signal, transistors V5-V8 are closed, which is the reason for the low current consumed by the amplifier. In this case, the voltage at the connection point of the zener diodes V3, V4 and the resistor R10 * is zero, and at the power supply terminals of the operational amplifier it is maintained equal to the nominal supply voltage by the stabilizers on the transistors V1, V2.

With the appearance of a signal at the input, the voltage at the connection point of the zener diodes changes by the value of the output signal. As a result, it is possible to obtain a significantly higher signal voltage from the operational amplifier than with a conventional power supply. Resistor R10 *, connecting the zener diodes to the output of the amplifier, reduces the maximum voltage at the inputs of the operational amplifier (for direct current, they are connected to a common wire, as can be seen from the diagram, so a common-mode change in supply voltages is equivalent to connecting a common-mode signal source to them).

The amplifier is not afraid of input overloads and short circuits in the load. If this happens, then the gain of the operational amplifier will decrease sharply (as a result, the output voltage will also decrease), and its output current (and therefore the output current of the entire amplifier) will be limited by resistor R6.

The gain of the amplifier is determined by the ratio of the resistances of the resistors R3 and R2 of the OOS circuit (K = 1 + R3 / R2). The latter reduces the output impedance of the amplifier, improving its performance in the low-frequency region, and stabilizes the voltage at the load - loudspeaker B1.

Setting up the amplifier consists in checking the constant voltage at the load (it should be close to zero) and selecting the resistor R10 *. For the time of adjustment, it is convenient to replace it with a variable one (with a resistance of 2,7 ... 3,3 kOhm). By applying an alternating voltage from the audio frequency signal generator to the input of the amplifier, the resistance of the resistor is reduced until the maximum possible undistorted output signal is obtained on the oscilloscope screen. It is not recommended to excessively reduce the resistance of the resistor R10 *, as this will lead to a decrease in the stability of the amplifier (it can go into trigger mode). With a significant (more than ± 0,1 V) difference in the output voltage from zero, resistor R1 should be selected.

Machine for thinning flowers in gardens 02.05.2024

In modern agriculture, technological progress is developing aimed at increasing the efficiency of plant care processes. The innovative Florix flower thinning machine was presented in Italy, designed to optimize the harvesting stage. This tool is equipped with mobile arms, allowing it to be easily adapted to the needs of the garden. The operator can adjust the speed of the thin wires by controlling them from the tractor cab using a joystick. This approach significantly increases the efficiency of the flower thinning process, providing the possibility of individual adjustment to the specific conditions of the garden, as well as the variety and type of fruit grown in it. After testing the Florix machine for two years on various types of fruit, the results were very encouraging. Farmers such as Filiberto Montanari, who has used a Florix machine for several years, have reported a significant reduction in the time and labor required to thin flowers. ... >>

Advanced Infrared Microscope 02.05.2024

Microscopes play an important role in scientific research, allowing scientists to delve into structures and processes invisible to the eye. However, various microscopy methods have their limitations, and among them was the limitation of resolution when using the infrared range. But the latest achievements of Japanese researchers from the University of Tokyo open up new prospects for studying the microworld. Scientists from the University of Tokyo have unveiled a new microscope that will revolutionize the capabilities of infrared microscopy. This advanced instrument allows you to see the internal structures of living bacteria with amazing clarity on the nanometer scale. Typically, mid-infrared microscopes are limited by low resolution, but the latest development from Japanese researchers overcomes these limitations. According to scientists, the developed microscope allows creating images with a resolution of up to 120 nanometers, which is 30 times higher than the resolution of traditional microscopes. ... >>

Air trap for insects 01.05.2024

Agriculture is one of the key sectors of the economy, and pest control is an integral part of this process. A team of scientists from the Indian Council of Agricultural Research-Central Potato Research Institute (ICAR-CPRI), Shimla, has come up with an innovative solution to this problem - a wind-powered insect air trap. This device addresses the shortcomings of traditional pest control methods by providing real-time insect population data. The trap is powered entirely by wind energy, making it an environmentally friendly solution that requires no power. Its unique design allows monitoring of both harmful and beneficial insects, providing a complete overview of the population in any agricultural area. “By assessing target pests at the right time, we can take necessary measures to control both pests and diseases,” says Kapil ... >>

Found a hormone that restores heart tissue 14.10.2022

Scientists at Michigan State University were able to prove in a study that the neurotransmitter oxytocin can help heal damaged tissue in the heart after a heart attack.

The recovery mechanism is based on the fact that the cells of the epicardium, the outer transparent membrane of the heart, can migrate inside the heart muscle. There they turn into cardiomyocytes, that is, muscle cells responsible for the contraction of the heart, which the body cannot easily replace in case of damage.

In the epicardium, there are special cells that can transform into a kind of stem cells that can form heart muscle tissue.

However, under normal conditions, this effect in humans cannot compensate for the massive death of cardiomyocytes that occurs during a heart attack. This is what zebrafish are capable of, which can completely regenerate various organs, including the heart, which restores three-quarters of its lost cells.
