Hi all. Now we will talk about the power amplifier working in the classroom D. We have already discussed the theory on this issue, it's time to move on to practice. The amplifier is quite powerful - 240 W (though with a harmonic coefficient of 10%). But first things first. So, the amplifier is made on a Philips chip - TDA8924. The microcircuit is relatively new, therefore, relatively expensive. Well, not cheap - this, of course, depends on what to compare with (in a pun).

The main features are as follows

Supply voltage +/-12...+/-30
Current consumption no signal, mA 100
Output power (maximum), W:
in stereo 120
in mono mode 240
Efficiency% 90

The microcircuit also has protection against short circuit at the output, thermal protection and protection of acoustics from "boom-bang" when turned on and off. In general, it is quite difficult to burn it. Well, of course, the comrade manufacturer is thoroughly disingenuous when he sets such output power values. The thing is that they are given taking into account the coefficient of harmonic distortion - 10%, which is complete bedlam. But, nevertheless, the amplifier is worth taking a closer look at, moreover, even soldering it. And let's talk about real power values a little lower, after we look at the diagram.

The circuit provides two options for switching on the amplifier - both stereo and mono in a bridge circuit. It is especially convenient, in my opinion, to use this amplifier for a subwoofer - it will not seem like a fool to anyone. Speaking of stupid. Agree, 10% is too much. However, with a decrease in the harmonic coefficient, the output power also decreases, but fortunately for us it is not catastrophic. At a perfectly acceptable 0,5%, the amplifier delivers 4 watts to a 70 ohm load in stereo mode and 200 watts in mono mode. By the way, in stereo mode, it can also be connected to a 2-ohm load, then it will give 95 watts at the same 0,5% distortion. The transition from stereo to mono is carried out as follows: reconnect the acoustics, close the jumpers JP3 and JP4 and remove the components R3, R4, C3, C4 and C6. Power is connected to the amplifier as follows:

All this can be mounted on one board, the dimensions are relatively small, especially since the heatsink for the microcircuit needs a purely symbolic one. You can forget about a kilogram of aluminum hanging on the flange of a microcircuit, as is the case with conventional amplifiers. All inductors that are used in this circuit can be bought ready-made. L1-L4 are chokes rated for 4-5A current. L1 and L2 of the amplifier - 10 μH inductances, designed for a current of 6-7A.

Now the list of components is quite voluminous, but of the same type:

C5, C6 330
C7, C11, C17, C20, C8, C12, C18, C22 100

Machine for thinning flowers in gardens 02.05.2024

In modern agriculture, technological progress is developing aimed at increasing the efficiency of plant care processes. The innovative Florix flower thinning machine was presented in Italy, designed to optimize the harvesting stage. This tool is equipped with mobile arms, allowing it to be easily adapted to the needs of the garden. The operator can adjust the speed of the thin wires by controlling them from the tractor cab using a joystick. This approach significantly increases the efficiency of the flower thinning process, providing the possibility of individual adjustment to the specific conditions of the garden, as well as the variety and type of fruit grown in it. After testing the Florix machine for two years on various types of fruit, the results were very encouraging. Farmers such as Filiberto Montanari, who has used a Florix machine for several years, have reported a significant reduction in the time and labor required to thin flowers. ... >>

Advanced Infrared Microscope 02.05.2024

Microscopes play an important role in scientific research, allowing scientists to delve into structures and processes invisible to the eye. However, various microscopy methods have their limitations, and among them was the limitation of resolution when using the infrared range. But the latest achievements of Japanese researchers from the University of Tokyo open up new prospects for studying the microworld. Scientists from the University of Tokyo have unveiled a new microscope that will revolutionize the capabilities of infrared microscopy. This advanced instrument allows you to see the internal structures of living bacteria with amazing clarity on the nanometer scale. Typically, mid-infrared microscopes are limited by low resolution, but the latest development from Japanese researchers overcomes these limitations. According to scientists, the developed microscope allows creating images with a resolution of up to 120 nanometers, which is 30 times higher than the resolution of traditional microscopes. ... >>

Air trap for insects 01.05.2024

Agriculture is one of the key sectors of the economy, and pest control is an integral part of this process. A team of scientists from the Indian Council of Agricultural Research-Central Potato Research Institute (ICAR-CPRI), Shimla, has come up with an innovative solution to this problem - a wind-powered insect air trap. This device addresses the shortcomings of traditional pest control methods by providing real-time insect population data. The trap is powered entirely by wind energy, making it an environmentally friendly solution that requires no power. Its unique design allows monitoring of both harmful and beneficial insects, providing a complete overview of the population in any agricultural area. “By assessing target pests at the right time, we can take necessary measures to control both pests and diseases,” says Kapil ... >>

SHARP Updates AQUOS LCD TV Lineup with 6 Models 12.02.2004

Sharp has announced six new Aquos series LCD TVs assembled on LCD panels from its sixth generation line in Kameyama.

Delivery times for new products vary depending on the model. The first TVs will go on sale on February 11, the last - in March. The presented TV models have an LCD panel with 3,15 million dots (1366x768), aluminum speakers. Among the interfaces mentioned are a PC-Card slot, a DVI-I port, two D-ports, two i.Link ports.

The line is represented by 37, 32 and 26-inch models, each of which has two varieties - with speakers located under the TV, and with speakers placed on the sides. In May of this year, Sharp is preparing to introduce a 45-inch TV model in the lineup. The 37-inch model with speakers under the TV is about $6,630, the 32-inch model is just over $5,000, and the 26-inch model is about $3,980.

Be that as it may, but the price of the 37-inch model is still too high for users, so the main effort of the company is to reduce the price per inch to $94.
