If you decide to develop a project for the construction of a wind turbine, it is very useful to have a "technological map" and know the basic principles. One such diagram that is very easy to follow is the diagram developed by the European Wind Energy Association (EWEA).

EWEA was founded in 1982 as a professional association of individuals involved in research and development in the field of wind energy. It is also an organization trading in wind energy products (contact details in Appendix 6).

The main provisions and stages of the development of the wind turbine construction project were determined by the EWEA with the participation of a number of organizations in order to ensure the correct and thorough implementation of the wind energy project. However, these provisions are of a general nature and can only give a rough idea on this topic. Since the development of a wind project is a very complex undertaking, an individual approach is required when conducting research in each specific case.

It must be remembered that the general provisions apply to all wind energy projects, and the scope of work of the contractor and the environmental impact assessment will depend on the type, size and location of the object.

The sequence of work in the development of a wind turbine deployment project contains the following seven main stages:

  1. choice of wind turbine location;
  2. feasibility study of the project;
  3. determination of the cost of the project;
  4. design;
  5. building;
  6. exploitation;
  7. demolition and restoration of the landscape.

Each stage requires consideration of the following aspects:

  • technical and commercial;
  • Environment;
  • dialogue/consultation.

Alcohol content of warm beer 07.05.2024

Beer, as one of the most common alcoholic drinks, has its own unique taste, which can change depending on the temperature of consumption. A new study by an international team of scientists has found that beer temperature has a significant impact on the perception of alcoholic taste. The study, led by materials scientist Lei Jiang, found that at different temperatures, ethanol and water molecules form different types of clusters, which affects the perception of alcoholic taste. At low temperatures, more pyramid-like clusters form, which reduces the pungency of the "ethanol" taste and makes the drink taste less alcoholic. On the contrary, as the temperature increases, the clusters become more chain-like, resulting in a more pronounced alcoholic taste. This explains why the taste of some alcoholic drinks, such as baijiu, can change depending on temperature. The data obtained opens up new prospects for beverage manufacturers, ... >>

Major risk factor for gambling addiction 07.05.2024

Computer games are becoming an increasingly popular form of entertainment among teenagers, but the associated risk of gaming addiction remains a significant problem. American scientists conducted a study to determine the main factors contributing to this addiction and offer recommendations for its prevention. Over the course of six years, 385 teenagers were followed to find out what factors may predispose them to gambling addiction. The results showed that 90% of study participants were not at risk of addiction, while 10% became gambling addicts. It turned out that the key factor in the onset of gambling addiction is a low level of prosocial behavior. Teenagers with a low level of prosocial behavior do not show interest in the help and support of others, which can lead to a loss of contact with the real world and a deepening dependence on virtual reality offered by computer games. Based on these results, scientists ... >>

Traffic noise delays the growth of chicks 06.05.2024

The sounds that surround us in modern cities are becoming increasingly piercing. However, few people think about how this noise affects the animal world, especially such delicate creatures as chicks that have not yet hatched from their eggs. Recent research is shedding light on this issue, indicating serious consequences for their development and survival. Scientists have found that exposure of zebra diamondback chicks to traffic noise can cause serious disruption to their development. Experiments have shown that noise pollution can significantly delay their hatching, and those chicks that do emerge face a number of health-promoting problems. The researchers also found that the negative effects of noise pollution extend into the adult birds. Reduced chances of reproduction and decreased fertility indicate the long-term effects that traffic noise has on wildlife. The study results highlight the need ... >>

All ultrabooks with Windows 8 - touchpads 20.09.2013

During Intel's annual developer forum, senior president Kirk Skaugen said that 70% of ultrabooks (thin laptops that meet Intel's specifications) currently sold at retail are equipped with touch screens. After that, he added that soon 100% of ultrabooks sold will have capacitive displays.

Windows 8 touch ultrabooks fall into three main categories: standard folding devices, hybrid solutions with swivel screens, and devices that turn into real tablets with detachable keyboards. The first and last category are the most common.

Although ultrabooks still occupy a smaller share of the Windows laptop market, there has been a recent surge in sales of touchscreen mobile PCs. Stephen Baker, vice president of industry analysis at NPD, said, "In August, touchscreen laptops fared better than any other month."

In August, touch devices accounted for 30% of all Windows 8 laptops in August, he said. According to NPD, this is a big increase from the first three months of the year, when touch solutions accounted for only 10% of Windows 8 laptops sold. In August, sales picked up markedly thanks to a good number of touchscreen laptops under $500. Mr. Baker is also increasingly optimistic about the growing popularity of touchscreen laptops during the Christmas sales season.

Intel is actively promoting touch screens, realizing that only such devices can fully unlock the potential of the new Windows 8 interface and, accordingly, increase device sales. In January, Intel introduced new requirements for ultrabooks based on the latest generation of its Haswell chips, which included the requirement for a touchscreen.

"Intel has added touch support to the ultrabook specification, so by definition an ultrabook today should have a touchscreen," said IDC analyst Bob O'Donnell. He also added that while the outlook for retail sales of touch notebooks is now increasingly bright, the share of such devices in the notebook market has remained below 10% for almost a year. Mr. O'Donnell stressed: "Yes, numbers are improving quite rapidly now, but previous slow growth could force IDC to lower its forecasts for the year."
