Safe Operation

1. General requirements for labor protection

1.1. General safety requirements are set out in the Instruction "General safety requirements for professions and types of work in furniture production".

1.2. Characteristics of dangerous and harmful production factors

1.2.1. Moving machines and mechanisms, moving parts of production equipment, moving products, blanks, materials.

Source of factors: moving conveyor belt.

Effect of the factor: the possibility of getting hands between the conveyor belt and the body of the coating machine.

1.2.2. Increased dust and gas content in the air of the working area.

Sources of the factor: non-working local suction at varnish filling machines; open containers for paints and varnishes; drying already finished parts outside shelters.

Effect of the factor: the possibility of poisoning workers with toxic substances that are part of paints and varnishes.

1.2.3. Chemicals that penetrate the skin and mucous membranes.

Sources of factors: irritating substances contained in finishing materials.

Effect of the factor: harmful effects on the eyes, skin of the hands and other parts of the body.

1.2.4. Explosion and fire hazard.

Sources of occurrence of factors: explosive concentration of vapors of paints and varnishes; sparking.

Action factor: the possibility of injury in an explosion, fire.

1.3. Personal protective equipment: cotton robe; cotton apron with bib; respirator; goggles with indirect ventilation; antistatic shoes; technical rubber gloves.

2. Safety requirements before starting work

2.1. Conduct an external inspection of the equipment and make sure that there are no foreign objects in the workplace, mechanical damage to the conveyor belt hoses.

Check the serviceability of starting devices; trolleys-whatnots for transporting parts; check the correct operation of local suction and supply and exhaust ventilation.

2.2. Make sure that the blocking of the finishing materials supply system with ventilation action is available and in good condition.

When the ventilation is turned on, the supply of finishing materials to the heads of the varnishing machines should stop.

3. Safety requirements during work

3.1. Alternating work on the coating machine with nitrocellulose and polyester varnishes is not allowed.

3.2. If smudges of varnish are found on the conveyor belt, remove them with a clean rag moistened in acetone, using a respirator and rubber gloves.

3.3. Cover the varnish or initiator spilled on the floor with sand, then collect the sand in a bucket with a non-ferrous metal scoop and take it to the designated place. Wash the floor with soap and water.

3.4. Take out cans from under the finishing materials to a specially designated place, without accumulating them near the car.

3.5. When working with the initiator, prevent its contamination and contact with finishing materials.

3.6. Make sure that the containers with paints and varnishes are tightly closed both during adjustment and during work on coating machines.

4. Safety requirements in emergency situations

4.1. Turn off equipment.

4.2. Post a table about the malfunction of the machine or equipment and report this to the direct management.

4.3. In the event of a fire or extinguishing a flame, use a nearby fire extinguisher.

4.4. The victim or bystander must notify the appropriate work manager of each accident or poisoning.

4.5. The worker must be able to provide first aid. Such assistance is provided immediately, directly at the scene and in the following sequence: first you need to eliminate the energy source of injury (switch off the engine, stop the mechanism, remove the victim from under the car, a heavy object, etc.).

Assistance should begin with the most significant that threatens life or health (in case of severe bleeding, apply a tourniquet, and then bandage the wound; if a closed fracture is suspected, apply a splint; with open fractures, first bandage the wound and then apply a splint; in case of burns, apply a dry bandage ; in case of frostbite, gently rub the affected area using soft or fluffy tissues). If spinal injury is suspected, transport the victim only in the supine position on a rigid base.

4.6. After providing first aid, the victim should be sent to the nearest medical facility.

5. Safety requirements at the end of work

5.1. Rinse heads, trays, filters, lids on tanks. Flushing should be carried out in a respirator and rubber gloves.

5.2. Washing heads with different components of polyester varnish is not allowed to be carried out with the same acetone.

5.3. Clean the machine with tools made of non-ferrous metal.

Artificial leather for touch emulation 15.04.2024

In a modern technology world where distance is becoming increasingly commonplace, maintaining connection and a sense of closeness is important. Recent developments in artificial skin by German scientists from Saarland University represent a new era in virtual interactions. German researchers from Saarland University have developed ultra-thin films that can transmit the sensation of touch over a distance. This cutting-edge technology provides new opportunities for virtual communication, especially for those who find themselves far from their loved ones. The ultra-thin films developed by the researchers, just 50 micrometers thick, can be integrated into textiles and worn like a second skin. These films act as sensors that recognize tactile signals from mom or dad, and as actuators that transmit these movements to the baby. Parents' touch to the fabric activates sensors that react to pressure and deform the ultra-thin film. This ... >>

Petgugu Global cat litter 15.04.2024

Taking care of pets can often be a challenge, especially when it comes to keeping your home clean. A new interesting solution from the Petgugu Global startup has been presented, which will make life easier for cat owners and help them keep their home perfectly clean and tidy. Startup Petgugu Global has unveiled a unique cat toilet that can automatically flush feces, keeping your home clean and fresh. This innovative device is equipped with various smart sensors that monitor your pet's toilet activity and activate to automatically clean after use. The device connects to the sewer system and ensures efficient waste removal without the need for intervention from the owner. Additionally, the toilet has a large flushable storage capacity, making it ideal for multi-cat households. The Petgugu cat litter bowl is designed for use with water-soluble litters and offers a range of additional ... >>

The attractiveness of caring men 14.04.2024

The stereotype that women prefer "bad boys" has long been widespread. However, recent research conducted by British scientists from Monash University offers a new perspective on this issue. They looked at how women responded to men's emotional responsibility and willingness to help others. The study's findings could change our understanding of what makes men attractive to women. A study conducted by scientists from Monash University leads to new findings about men's attractiveness to women. In the experiment, women were shown photographs of men with brief stories about their behavior in various situations, including their reaction to an encounter with a homeless person. Some of the men ignored the homeless man, while others helped him, such as buying him food. A study found that men who showed empathy and kindness were more attractive to women compared to men who showed empathy and kindness. ... >>

Photoelectronic memory based on a colony of bacteria 08.05.2020

Biologists at the University of California San Diego have found that colonies of bacteria that form biofilms act like neurons and have a collective memory.

Scientists have shown that bacteria are able to encode memory using membrane potential - the difference in electrical potential due to the difference in charges on the outer and inner side of the cell membrane. On the basis of a similar principle, memory is carried out in the human brain.

During the experiment, the researchers used Bacillus subtilis cells, which were irradiated with blue laser light for five seconds. It turned out that light provokes a change in the membrane potential, in which ions leave the cell and then enter it back. In this way, the bacteria go from polarized to depolarized state and vice versa, and this effect persists for a long time even after the cessation of laser exposure.

It is not yet known whether bacteria actually use this form of memory in any way, the scientists said. At the same time, the discovery may support the idea that some neural processes may have the same evolutionary history as interactions between bacteria.
