The purpose metal coloring is the ability to give a more beautiful appearance to the metal surface and protect it from possible exposure to atmospheric influences. Staining can be done mechanically or chemically. In the first case, the metal is simply covered with paint or varnish.

Under the chemical coloring of a metal is meant an artificial change in the color of the surface of a metal or alloy with the help of various substances that enter into a chemical combination with the metal.

Such staining can be obtained:

Under the influence of atmospheric conditions, for example, a patina is formed on bronze monuments, the color of copper coins (the natural color of metals). Beautiful natural patinas on ancient bronze and copper are especially valued and known.

With the help of a thin layer of another metal applied to the metal surface to be painted (silver plating, gold plating, nickel plating, platinum plating, etc.), and this layer can be obtained as a result of the interaction of various salts with the metal to be painted or using electric current (galvanic coloring of metals ).

By changing the color of the surface through chemical action (oxidation, patination, bluing, etc.).

Coloring ennobles the metal and makes it suitable for many purposes, for example, for making fine mechanisms, artistic products, etc.

Machine for thinning flowers in gardens 02.05.2024

In modern agriculture, technological progress is developing aimed at increasing the efficiency of plant care processes. The innovative Florix flower thinning machine was presented in Italy, designed to optimize the harvesting stage. This tool is equipped with mobile arms, allowing it to be easily adapted to the needs of the garden. The operator can adjust the speed of the thin wires by controlling them from the tractor cab using a joystick. This approach significantly increases the efficiency of the flower thinning process, providing the possibility of individual adjustment to the specific conditions of the garden, as well as the variety and type of fruit grown in it. After testing the Florix machine for two years on various types of fruit, the results were very encouraging. Farmers such as Filiberto Montanari, who has used a Florix machine for several years, have reported a significant reduction in the time and labor required to thin flowers. ... >>

Advanced Infrared Microscope 02.05.2024

Microscopes play an important role in scientific research, allowing scientists to delve into structures and processes invisible to the eye. However, various microscopy methods have their limitations, and among them was the limitation of resolution when using the infrared range. But the latest achievements of Japanese researchers from the University of Tokyo open up new prospects for studying the microworld. Scientists from the University of Tokyo have unveiled a new microscope that will revolutionize the capabilities of infrared microscopy. This advanced instrument allows you to see the internal structures of living bacteria with amazing clarity on the nanometer scale. Typically, mid-infrared microscopes are limited by low resolution, but the latest development from Japanese researchers overcomes these limitations. According to scientists, the developed microscope allows creating images with a resolution of up to 120 nanometers, which is 30 times higher than the resolution of traditional microscopes. ... >>

Air trap for insects 01.05.2024

Agriculture is one of the key sectors of the economy, and pest control is an integral part of this process. A team of scientists from the Indian Council of Agricultural Research-Central Potato Research Institute (ICAR-CPRI), Shimla, has come up with an innovative solution to this problem - a wind-powered insect air trap. This device addresses the shortcomings of traditional pest control methods by providing real-time insect population data. The trap is powered entirely by wind energy, making it an environmentally friendly solution that requires no power. Its unique design allows monitoring of both harmful and beneficial insects, providing a complete overview of the population in any agricultural area. “By assessing target pests at the right time, we can take necessary measures to control both pests and diseases,” says Kapil ... >>

3D printing with materials of different colors and properties 02.02.2014

Stratasys, a specialist in 3D printers and consumables, has announced a significant achievement in this area. The new model - Objet500 Connex3 - according to the developer, is the first and so far the only 3D printer on the market, which combines the ability of color printing and printing with materials with different properties.

The Objet500 Connex3 printhead is capable of forming an object using three base materials at the same time. This makes it possible to arbitrarily combine the properties of strength, flexibility and transparency in one print session. Obtaining a finished object with a complex combination of properties and colors, according to the manufacturer, significantly reduces time by eliminating the assembly and painting phase.

As in the case of conventional color printers, a mixture of base colors is used to obtain other colors. The latter are materials from VeroCyan, VeroMagenta and VeroYellow. These colored materials complement PolyJet's line of protopolymer materials, which already includes materials with different properties: rubbery, rigid, transparent, resistant to elevated temperatures. The Objet500 Connex3 Color Multi-material 3D Printer can also be used with six new Tango rubber-like materials in a variety of colors (including clear).

The Objet500 Connex3 Color Multi-material 3D Printer builds objects layer by layer using eight print heads. The minimum layer thickness is 16 microns. Print area dimensions - 490 x 390 x 200 mm.
