To obtain perfume, the mixtures below are dissolved in 1 liter of wine alcohol (80 °) and 1 drops of ammonia are added to 5 liter of fragrance. Ready fragrances are poured into brown bottles and allowed to settle for several days, first in a warm room, and then in the cellar.

Heliotrope

  • Heliotropin 2,3 g;
  • Vanillin 0,4 g;
  • Coumarin 0,25 g;
  • Musk tincture 2,5 g;
  • Geranium oil 10 drops;
  • Benzaldehyde 10 drops.

Lilac

  • Terpineol 22,5 g;
  • Vanillin 0,75 g;
  • Geranium oil 10 drops;
  • Palm oil 10 drops;
  • Jasmine oil 20 g;
  • Bergamot oil 20 g.

Mignonette

  • Geranium oil 2 g;
  • Orange flower oil 2 g;
  • Jasmine oil 2 g;
  • Tolu balm 2 g;
  • Orange oil 15 drops.

For cheaper varieties of perfumery, aqueous decoctions of fragrant leaves, roots and other parts of plants without wine alcohol or with a small content of it are used. By properly mixing individual decoctions and adding essential oils or artificial aromatic substances dissolved in a small amount of wine alcohol, many varieties of pleasant and strong-smelling perfumes can be made. Instead of expensive musk, a solution of musk grass seeds is used as a fixative. This solution is prepared as follows. 100 g of crushed seeds are placed in 1 liter of boiling water, mixed thoroughly and left for approximately 1 hour at 40 ° C, then left for several days in a sealed container and filtered. In the same way and in the same proportion (1:10 or even 1:20) you can make decoctions of patchouli, sandalwood or cedar, vetiver root, lavender flowers, coriander seeds and fresh rose flower petals. If you want to make cheap perfumes free from wine alcohol or with a weak content of wine alcohol, without resorting to decoction, use one of the following methods:

Essential oils are dissolved in a small amount of ethyl alcohol, this solution is poured into the required amount of boiling water, mixed, covered well and allowed to cool. Then wine alcohol is added and left completely at rest for three weeks, after which it is filtered through magnesia carbonate or through asbestos wool.

Dissolve odorous substances in wine alcohol, add cold water, shake well, add a little magnesia carbonate while stirring and let the mixture stand at rest for three weeks, after which the composition is filtered, as indicated in method 1. It is recommended to add a little salicylic acid during boiling in order to preserve the solution. The water used in this operation should be as free as possible from lime and iron; otherwise, it must first be distilled or boiled several times.

Here are some practical recipes for compiling cheap perfumes.

patchouli water

500 g of patchouli leaves are boiled for an hour in a closed vessel in 5-7,5 liters of water, allowed to settle and filtered through a cloth. Then 250 g of abelmosh decoction (musk grass seeds) are added to this liquid, then 2,5-5 g of patchouli oil dissolved in 100 g of wine alcohol, and finally, for preservation, 50 g of salicylic acid or its aqueous solution. Then the mixture is allowed to boil again, placed in a well-seasoned dish, 150-250 g of kaolin earth or 50 g of magnesia carbonate are added, mixed well and left in a carefully sealed form for 4 weeks. Then filtered through magnesium carbonate and stained with brilliant green.

Iris water

Iris water with a pleasant, violet-like odor is prepared as follows: 460 g of orris root powder is thoroughly boiled in a sealed container with 2 kg of distilled water; after cooling, place the decoction in a bowl and add 2 g of salicylic acid dissolved in a small amount of water. The resulting solution is left to stand with daily shaking for 14 days, after which the clear liquid is drained from the sediment.

Musk water

20 g of artificial musk is carefully triturated with 5 g of dry potash into a fine powder, boiled in a sealed container with 2 kg of distilled water, 5 g of salicylic acid are added after cooling and filtered after three days of standing.

Machine for thinning flowers in gardens 02.05.2024

In modern agriculture, technological progress is developing aimed at increasing the efficiency of plant care processes. The innovative Florix flower thinning machine was presented in Italy, designed to optimize the harvesting stage. This tool is equipped with mobile arms, allowing it to be easily adapted to the needs of the garden. The operator can adjust the speed of the thin wires by controlling them from the tractor cab using a joystick. This approach significantly increases the efficiency of the flower thinning process, providing the possibility of individual adjustment to the specific conditions of the garden, as well as the variety and type of fruit grown in it. After testing the Florix machine for two years on various types of fruit, the results were very encouraging. Farmers such as Filiberto Montanari, who has used a Florix machine for several years, have reported a significant reduction in the time and labor required to thin flowers. ... >>

Advanced Infrared Microscope 02.05.2024

Microscopes play an important role in scientific research, allowing scientists to delve into structures and processes invisible to the eye. However, various microscopy methods have their limitations, and among them was the limitation of resolution when using the infrared range. But the latest achievements of Japanese researchers from the University of Tokyo open up new prospects for studying the microworld. Scientists from the University of Tokyo have unveiled a new microscope that will revolutionize the capabilities of infrared microscopy. This advanced instrument allows you to see the internal structures of living bacteria with amazing clarity on the nanometer scale. Typically, mid-infrared microscopes are limited by low resolution, but the latest development from Japanese researchers overcomes these limitations. According to scientists, the developed microscope allows creating images with a resolution of up to 120 nanometers, which is 30 times higher than the resolution of traditional microscopes. ... >>

Air trap for insects 01.05.2024

Agriculture is one of the key sectors of the economy, and pest control is an integral part of this process. A team of scientists from the Indian Council of Agricultural Research-Central Potato Research Institute (ICAR-CPRI), Shimla, has come up with an innovative solution to this problem - a wind-powered insect air trap. This device addresses the shortcomings of traditional pest control methods by providing real-time insect population data. The trap is powered entirely by wind energy, making it an environmentally friendly solution that requires no power. Its unique design allows monitoring of both harmful and beneficial insects, providing a complete overview of the population in any agricultural area. “By assessing target pests at the right time, we can take necessary measures to control both pests and diseases,” says Kapil ... >>
