Drilling machine from a drill. home workshop I suggest that lovers make a desktop homemade drilling machine using a hand drill. A hollow rack-pipe is mounted on a solid base, a rod is movably installed inside it. On the one hand, a gear rack is cut into it to drive the vertical feed, and on the other, a platform is selected for connecting the bracket with the guide bar through the longitudinal groove of the rack. A hand drill and an electric motor are mounted on the bracket. The drive of the drill from the engine is carried out by a V-belt transmission. The vertical feed of the assembly is provided by a mechanism assembled in a separate housing. The external dimensions of the machine depend on the selected length of the rack and the dimensions of the base; vertical feed stroke for the specified dimensions - 100 mm. Learn more about machine parts. The base is a steel plate measuring 320x320x8 mm. A hole d 35 mm is drilled in it - under the stand and four threaded in the corners - for the legs. A thick-walled steel pipe with an outer d of 35 mm and an inner 23 mm was used as a stand. At one end, an M35 thread is cut for mounting on the base. On the other, a longitudinal groove 14 mm wide is milled (under the bracket guide bar) and a rectangular window for mounting the vertical feed drive gear. Four radial holes M5 are intended for mounting on the rack of the vertical feed mechanism housing.
The L-shaped bracket is bent from a steel plate measuring 355x50x5 mm. Its horizontal shelf has two M6 holes - for the engine bracket and a hole d 15 mm - for a shortened drill handle. A hole d 9,1 mm was drilled in the vertical shelf for the lower stop of the drill and three d 8,2 mm for connecting through the guide plate to the rod. The procedure for attaching the drill to the bracket is as follows. The drill handle is sawn off at a distance of 5-10 mm from the base. A stop rod is screwed in place of the side handle. Having installed a drill with a lower stop in the holes d 15 mm and d 9,1 mm of the bracket, it is welded, carefully controlling the parallelism of the longitudinal axis to the vertical axis of the bracket shelf. The vertical feed rod is a steel rod d 23 mm, 340 mm long. Its toothed rack with m = 1,5 is cut to a length of 140 mm, and the platform milled from the opposite side is wide enough to connect the bracket guide rail. The feed mechanism housing is fixed to the stand with four M5 screws. In its bored socket d 30 mm, a gear-shaft of the feed mechanism is installed, coupled with the gear rack of the rod. The handle hub is connected to the shaft with a pin. For the convenience of working on the machine, the rod in the rack is spring-loaded. The lower stop of the spring is a blind fixing nut of the rack. The design used an electric motor brand DO-50M. Its power is 50 W at a nominal speed of 1420 rpm. When installing an engine of another brand, the choice of the required rotation speed of the working tool is carried out by selecting the diameters of the V-belt drive pulleys or installing stepped pulleys.
