In No. 6 for 1981, "M-K" talked about how members of the design circle of agricultural modeling of the Chernihiv region, after an excursion to the collective farm apiary, designed an installation for thermal anti-mite treatment of bees. Having built it, the guys took up the solution of the next problem. At the same collective farm apiary, they observed how the beekeeper pierces holes in the hive frames with an awl under the wire to fix the honeycomb. An awl is an awl: some strips cracked, in others the holes were tightened and the wire could not be pulled through them.

Here, on the spot, the circle members were given the task of mechanizing this process. Three days later, everyone brought their own variants of devices for drilling holes in the beehive frames. We collectively reviewed them, after which we compiled a generalized installation diagram, and then working drawings of a four-spindle universal machine. By the way, it turned out to be possible to use it for sharpening tools.

The unit was built and tested. The results exceeded all expectations. We submitted an application to the Committee for Inventions and Discoveries and received a copyright certificate.

Our drilling machine with four spindles is mounted on a base welded from a steel angle with a section of 30X30 mm. A collet chuck for drills is seated at the outer end of each spindle, and V-belt drive pulleys fixed with keys at the opposite end.

The drive of the machine is from a single-phase electric motor, on the axis of which a hub with an abrasive wheel is fixed, it also serves as a drive pulley for the working spindles.

Holes in the hive frames are drilled without prior marking. The accuracy of work is ensured by the guide angle and the support platform installed on the base. The frame is laid on them and smoothly fed by the side plate to the rotating spindles with spade drills.

Computer games are becoming an increasingly popular form of entertainment among teenagers, but the associated risk of gaming addiction remains a significant problem. American scientists conducted a study to determine the main factors contributing to this addiction and offer recommendations for its prevention. Over the course of six years, 385 teenagers were followed to find out what factors may predispose them to gambling addiction. The results showed that 90% of study participants were not at risk of addiction, while 10% became gambling addicts.
