Family vacations are becoming more and more popular: hiking, Sunday long walks out of town with children.

But after all, babies get tired quickly, and you can’t scold them in your arms for a long time, even if these are strong daddy’s hands.

That is why, I think, many will be interested in the proposed universal folding stroller-backpack

How much joy comes into the house with the advent of a child! However, there are also many worries and difficulties, and at first young parents have to deny themselves many hobbies. But avid tourists can not sit at home, and a year later they go hiking with the whole family. Of course, a young traveler cannot overcome long distances with his own legs, but, sitting in a comfortable chair behind his father, he will gladly take a walk in the forest, pick mushrooms, pick berries, and even hike along a long route. Unfortunately, commercially available baby carriers are not very comfortable for both child and adult, and folding strollers are not suitable for even a short walk along forest paths.

In comparison with them, the portable stroller-high chair, manufactured and tested by us in multi-day trips, has a number of important advantages for the tourist: it folds easily (when assembled, it will fit in any backpack, bag), and weighs only 2 kg. On a good road, on asphalt, a child can be transported in it, as in a regular stroller, and on hiking trails, carry a baby on your back or on your chest. In the latter case, a place for a backpack is released behind the back.

The main elements of the stroller: 1 - fabric headrest, 2 - seat belts, 3 - canvas seat with plywood base, 4 - stand, 5 - reinforced footrest pull, 6 - waist support, 7 - support arc, 8 - shoulder straps

The basis of the design is a folding stroller manufactured by the industry for carrying bags. To convert it into a portable chair, the hinged upper and lower frames must be connected in the center with a steel tube. A seat sewn from a tarpaulin with a plywood base lined at the bottom and at the back is put on the upper frame. The thrust of the reclining stop of the stroller, which has now become a footboard, is replaced by a stronger one - also from a steel tube.

The headrest for the baby is a tarpaulin ring, put on a slightly extended handle. For ease of carrying from the back of the stroller, a simple stop is installed below - a metal frame with a narrow plywood plate, sheathed with foam rubber and tarpaulin. Its rod corresponds to the inner diameter of the tube of the lower frame, so the stop can be easily removed if necessary. Shoulder straps from the backpack are attached to the base of the stroller.

For additional safety of the child, the chair is equipped with seat belts with carabiners.

The existence of an entropy rule for quantum entanglement has been proven 09.05.2024

Quantum mechanics continues to amaze us with its mysterious phenomena and unexpected discoveries. Recently, Bartosz Regula from the RIKEN Center for Quantum Computing and Ludovico Lamy from the University of Amsterdam presented a new discovery that concerns quantum entanglement and its relation to entropy. Quantum entanglement plays an important role in modern quantum information science and technology. However, the complexity of its structure makes understanding and managing it challenging. Regulus and Lamy's discovery shows that quantum entanglement follows an entropy rule similar to that for classical systems. This discovery opens new perspectives in the field of quantum information science and technology, deepening our understanding of quantum entanglement and its connection to thermodynamics. The results of the study indicate the possibility of reversibility of entanglement transformations, which could greatly simplify their use in various quantum technologies. Opening a new rule ... >>

Mini air conditioner Sony Reon Pocket 5 09.05.2024

Summer is a time for relaxation and travel, but often the heat can turn this time into an unbearable torment. Meet a new product from Sony - the Reon Pocket 5 mini-air conditioner, which promises to make summer more comfortable for its users. With it, users can enjoy coolness anytime, anywhere by simply wearing it around their neck. This mini air conditioner is equipped with automatic adjustment of operating modes, as well as temperature and humidity sensors. Thanks to innovative technologies, Reon Pocket 5 adjusts its operation depending on the user's activity and environmental conditions. Users can easily adjust the temperature using a dedicated mobile app connected via Bluetooth. Additionally, specially designed T-shirts and shorts are available for convenience, to which a mini air conditioner can be attached. The device can oh ... >>

Energy from space for Starship 08.05.2024

Producing solar energy in space is becoming more feasible with the advent of new technologies and the development of space programs. The head of the startup Virtus Solis shared his vision of using SpaceX's Starship to create orbital power plants capable of powering the Earth. Startup Virtus Solis has unveiled an ambitious project to create orbital power plants using SpaceX's Starship. This idea could significantly change the field of solar energy production, making it more accessible and cheaper. The core of the startup's plan is to reduce the cost of launching satellites into space using Starship. This technological breakthrough is expected to make solar energy production in space more competitive with traditional energy sources. Virtual Solis plans to build large photovoltaic panels in orbit, using Starship to deliver the necessary equipment. However, one of the key challenges ... >>

Ultra-clean diamond wafers with up to 25 EB of data 07.05.2022

One of the types of diamond point defects makes it possible to use it as a quantum bit for organizing calculations or storing data.

This can be hindered by the imperfection of the technology for growing ultra-pure diamond disks, which has become a challenge for scientists. The Japanese accepted the challenge and were able to find an interesting solution to the problem.

If at any site of the diamond crystal lattice one of the carbon atoms is replaced (bonded) by a nitrogen atom, then such a violation of the diamond crystal structure will be called a nitrogen-substituted vacancy in diamond or an NV center. Such a point defect has quantum properties that can be easily controlled by light, magnetic fields, or other influences even at room temperature. In particular, the NV center can be used to record and store data.

A feature of diamond structures with NV centers is that there should not be too much nitrogen. Therefore, for the practical use of diamond data carriers, it is necessary either to produce very large disks with admissible nitrogen impurities (so to speak, “smear” nitrogen over a large area), or to grow the purest diamonds with a strictly controlled amount of impurities, which is technically much more difficult.

Until now, ultrapure diamonds have barely exceeded 4 mm2 in area, which is extremely small. However, Japanese researchers at Saga University and Japan's Adamant Namiki Precision Jewelery have managed to develop a technology to grow ultra-pure diamond wafers with a diameter of 2 inches (5 cm). Theoretically, each such disc can store up to 25 EB of data, which is equivalent to recording a billion 25 GB Blu-Ray discs on one diamond medium.

The secret of success lies in the special structure of the substrate on which the diamond disc was grown. This is usually a flat, flat surface. During the growth process and in its early stages, ultra-pure diamond on such a surface often broke under its own weight. To prevent cracking, the scientists proposed a stepped substrate surface that would distribute the weight of the growing diamond more evenly. The new substrate made it possible to grow a very, very pure diamond with a diameter of 5 cm and a purity of 3^10-9. But the scientists did not rest on this and now they plan to grow a diamond twice as large in diameter.
