TOURIST ADVICE
Sauna in a hurry. Travel Tips To build camping sauna not too difficult. It keeps heat very well, it is light and spacious in it, and it is more pleasant to bathe here than in a steam room from an ordinary tent, which has long been known to tourists, and over many years of operating experience, the bathhouse has shown its best side. To make such a sauna, buy two 3x5 m polyethylene awnings for tents in a sports store, cut a fabric panel about 1,5x3 m in size, and also pick up ropes for joining the frame elements. Well, boulders for the stove and poles - the future frame - are looked for on the spot. The sauna begins to be built from the oven. This is the most time-consuming and responsible part of the work. On the bank of a river or other reservoir, where materials for a furnace can be found, they look for a flat area about 2x2 m in size. On one of its sides, a square with a side of a meter is laid out from flat stones - the foundation. The side walls of the fireboxes are installed on it - oblong rectangular boulders located at a distance of 20 ... 30 cm from each other. Their length should be 40 ... 50 cm and height 30 ... 40 cm. It is not so easy to find such plates, so the walls of the fireboxes can be laid out from smaller boulders. This is not even bad - the gaps between the stones will create better conditions for burning and heating the stove. Stone slabs are placed on top of these boulders so that a hole (something like a chimney) remains above the central part of the fireboxes, through which the flame will penetrate into the upper part of the furnace. Subsequent layers of stones are also placed so that a central hole remains. The masonry is crowned by a small slab covering the central hole. Here you can put dishes for heating water. The finished stove should have a conical shape and not reach the ceiling of the sauna 40 ... 50 cm. During the construction of the stove, the rear openings of the fireboxes are closed with boulders. Experience has shown that it is best to build a furnace with two fireboxes. So, the stove is laid out. Now it is necessary to kindle a fire in the fireboxes and maintain it for 2 ... 3 hours. It should be remembered that when the furnace is first heated, some of the stones will crack. They are torn apart by the moisture that has turned into steam, which was contained in them. And although most often this happens inside the oven, you still need to be careful. The frame of the sauna is knitted simultaneously with the laying out of the stove, although in principle this can be done already in the process of melting. The stove is fenced with additional racks so that the awning does not come into contact with it. The binding of the frame elements is done with ropes. The wire is not suitable for this, it heats up a lot and melts the film. There should be no knots and sharp protrusions on the frame that can easily pierce the heated film. When the furnace warms up enough, ash is removed from the fireboxes, its remains are filled with water. Ashes and dust are washed off the stove with a small amount of water. A fabric panel is thrown on top of the frame (in principle, windbreakers or other clothing can be used instead), which protects the film from the heat of the oven and prevents it from being damaged by the frame. Next, both polyethylene awnings are pulled onto the frame. Their edges are pressed with stones; at the junction, the edges are overlapped by 30 ... 40 cm. In this zone, they are pressed by a rope thrown over the frame, at the ends of which loads (small stones) are tied. The sauna is also equipped with a kind of door, representing an owl lowered awning with a slightly larger supply of film than on the side walls. Even in an incompletely closed sauna, the air heats up very quickly. It remains to stock up on a broom. In the bath at the same time placed 3 ... 4 people. And one heating of the stove is enough for 10-15 people to take a good steam. Of course, it is advisable to put such a sauna where you often or for a long time rest. A well-made frame and oven will serve you for more than one season from spring to autumn. During the next rest, you will only need to heat the stove and cover the frame with an awning.
