В steppe and desert regions you can support your strength by "small" hunting for lizards, turtles, snakes, as well as insects and small rodents.

In lizards, the muscles of the back of the legs are suitable for food. Snakes must be gutted and decapitated before eating. There are many ways to cook snake meat:

without removing the skin, cut the meat into small bushes and bake on coals;
remove the skin, wind the snake on a stick, bake over the fire.

All snakes and lizards store fat in the abdominal cavity in the form of ribbon-like or round formations that can be used for frying food. Sometimes there are also large, soft-shelled eggs or smaller yolks, all of which are also eaten.

Turtle meat is excellent food. The turtle can be cooked right in its shell, pre-coated with a layer of clay and laid with its back on hot coals. You can first kill the turtle by immersing it in boiling water for 2-3 minutes, and then, having opened the shell, cut out the dense muscles, but this method leads to large losses of the product.

Insects, in particular grasshoppers or locusts, are good to fry, after tearing off the wings and legs. In some African countries, it is a delicacy and sells well with beer.

If you come across a pond with frogs, it will not be difficult to catch them. Frogs eat hind legs with large femoral and calf muscles. The paws are cut off at the base, it is better to peel off the skin. Tasty meat can be fried, boiled and eaten raw.

Rodents are treated in the same way as all mammals, i.e. bleed, gutted, skinned, then boiled or stewed. Very small rodents can be baked without skinning, just then, before eating, you should clean the meat from burning with a knife.

Attention! Do not try to catch sedentary rodents in desert areas, as they tend to be sick with tularemia.

American scientists conducted a study to determine the main factors contributing to this addiction and offer recommendations for its prevention.
