Any amateur designer is first of all interested in how much work to be done, what parts and assemblies he will have to do himself, so that, as they say, the car will go. Therefore, I will immediately list: the following main components were assembled or manufactured differently - a gearbox in a block with a differential, a power drive for the rear wheels and their suspension housings, a body frame, and a brake mechanism. At the same time, I used some parts from the S3B motorized carriage: I took the engine cooling system, differential, cardan joints, springs and friction dampers of the rear suspension from it.

I would call the built car a mini-motor tractor, because its base is only 1850 mm, the track is 1100 mm, and the base is the IZH motorcycle. During the alteration, a three-wheeled structure was obtained, similar in scheme to the Ant cargo scooter.

The engine left the regular one, but added forced airflow: removed the left crankcase cover and replaced it with a fan from S3B with its casing.

The transmission from the engine to the rear wheels is carried out through the "reducer - differential" block.

the duralumin case for the block was cast by simple casting into the ground. In the manufacture of the gearbox, some gears and shafts from the IZH gearbox with a switching mechanism and a differential from a motorized carriage were used. Workers - three gears: two forward (two-stage) and one reverse (single-stage). Gear ratios for high-speed transmission 1,14, for reduced working - 2,55, reverse - 2,41. Traction force from the engine is transmitted by a roller chain directly to the secondary shaft of the gearbox: the first gear on the intermediate shaft is removed. To drive the chain, two sprockets from the secondary shaft of the gearbox for 18 teeth were used - a gear ratio of 1; tractive effort from the gearbox to the rear wheels - from the output shafts of the differential (with cardan nirs from S3B) through cardan shafts, couplings, shafts of intermediate supports and their drive sprockets (also 18 teeth), roller chains. For safe operation and protection against contamination, the chains are placed in casings. The sprockets are also covered with housings and rubber boots. Bearings of intermediate supports are installed in special housings.

Shaft fastening is keyed. The rear wheels have regular driven sprockets with brake drums: the gear ratio on the sprockets "leading - driven" is 2,33. All roller caps are also standard - P-4. Finger couplings, from the M-72 motorcycle. To adjust the tension of the chains, the possibility of some movement of the gearbox unit and intermediate supports is provided.

Sufficiently soft depreciation is achieved due to the elastic suspension of the rear axle on springs from a motorized carriage with friction dampers and rubber buffers.

Suspension cantilever, with triangular "paws" of pipes. Its axle-bolts pass through the lugs of the underbody frame, and the wheel axle is installed in the suspension housing and is pressed against the stop by the fastening screw. The body consists of box-shaped parts: a base and a clamping bar, welded to the "legs" on one side, and bolted together on the other.

The driven sprocket of the rear wheel is mounted directly on the axle - on a bronze bearing - and is connected with the fingers (like a clutch) to the inner disk of the wheel hub, in which the corresponding windows are drilled for this. In addition, it, like the outer disc, has holes for reinforced knitting needles Ø 5 mm. The hub rotates on two bearings; the knot ends with a nut with a check.

The frame of the tractor consists of two parts interconnected by studs: the front one from IZH-49 and the rear underbody - homemade. The latter is a three-dimensional structure of longitudinal and transverse beams, as well as racks. It is welded, from pipes; the curved side beam is supporting - a support for the intermediate shafts of the power transmission with a drive sprocket is installed on it on a scarf. Lugs and corners are welded to the frame for fastening the gearbox unit, the intermediate axle of the brake rods, the rear wheel suspension, the silencer, the position lights, the hinge of the semi-trailer hitch, and the body locks.

The front fork of the tractor is standard. Front brake drive manual; on the rear wheels with regular brake drums - foot rods.

A tipping body with a load capacity of 200 kg can be installed on the frame. The tractor is also capable of towing a two-wheeled semi-trailer with a load of up to 600 kg. The frame has a special hinge for their attachment.

Data transmission using fast neutrons 21.11.2021

Traditional radio communications are based on electromagnetic radiation, but scientists from Lancaster University (UK) and the Jozsef Stefan Institute (Slovenia) in their new project were able to transmit data in digital format, using fast neutrons as a basis.

As part of the study, the scientists measured the spontaneous emission of fast neutrons emitted by californium-252, a radioactive isotope produced by nuclear reactors. Next, they modulated the neutron field, that is, the flux of free neutrons, by encoding the simplest information elements: words, the alphabet, and randomly selected numbers. The neutron flux hit the detector, and the output data was decoded on a laptop, with the help of which the encoded information was restored.

To check the system's performance, a double-blind test was conducted, in which the value received on the random number generator was encoded without prior notification of the senders, after which the signal was transmitted and decoded. All data transfer tests were 100% successful.

Lancaster University professor Malcolm Joyce commented on the project: "We are demonstrating the potential of fast neutron radiation as a wireless communication medium for applications where electromagnetic data transmission is either impossible or inherently limited." He clarified that fast neutrons have an advantage over electromagnetic waves, which are weakened when passing through various obstacles, including metal ones.

This technology can be useful in cases where electromagnetic waves do not work and cable laying is not recommended: reactor containments or metal vaults and bulkheads in offshore structures. Neutron communications will also come in handy in emergency situations when traditional communications do not work.
