Bicycle cart for two surfers. Personal transport
Directory / Personal transport: land, water, air
Comments on the article
Surfers are very convenient to transport on the roof of the car, mounted on the trunk. And what about those who have not yet acquired such a vehicle and have so far only a bicycle. We suggest using a simple trailer trolley. For its manufacture, you will need two bicycle wheels, metal strips 5x30 mm and threaded rods - for lodgements.
The trolley is similar to a gig and has a saddle device with which it is attached to the bike rack. Its frame is made up of ... the surfers' bodies themselves, and the centerboard wells and holes for attaching the fins serve to connect all parts of the structure with the help of studs. The base is assembled from lodgements with rivets or bolts: the necessary parameters are specified in accordance with the cross section of the sailboards in the centerboard area, and the nest for laying the masts is made according to their diameters. The bending of the seat of the saddle device depends on the size of the bodies at the place where the fin is attached, and the distance between them depends on the width of the bicycle trunk.
Bicycle trolley for two surfers (click to enlarge): 1 - mast, 2 - surfer's body, 3 - gnk, 4 - cradle of the base of the trolley, 5 - cradle of the saddle device, 6 - bike rack (rearranged higher), 7, 11 - studs M6, 8 - M6 wing nuts, 9 - bicycle wheel, 10 - rubber shock absorbers, 12 - M6 nut, 13 - bracket (metal bar d 6 mm)
The loading of surfers and their fixation is carried out as follows: first, they lay the hulls on the cradles of the trolley with the bottom to each other, and then the masts into the nest so that their ends hang slightly behind. A stud is passed through the centerboard wells and tightened with wing nuts. With another pin - through the holes for attaching the fins - they pull together the body-frames and the saddle device. They put the latter on the trunk and connect it with brackets.
Rubber gaskets are glued to the parts that are in contact during movement or shock absorbers are placed. It is especially necessary to ensure the safety of the carbonated surfaces of the surfers' bodies.
Two sets of sailboards can be transported on the trolley at once.

The existence of an entropy rule for quantum entanglement has been proven
09.05.2024
Quantum mechanics continues to amaze us with its mysterious phenomena and unexpected discoveries. Recently, Bartosz Regula from the RIKEN Center for Quantum Computing and Ludovico Lamy from the University of Amsterdam presented a new discovery that concerns quantum entanglement and its relation to entropy. Quantum entanglement plays an important role in modern quantum information science and technology. However, the complexity of its structure makes understanding and managing it challenging. Regulus and Lamy's discovery shows that quantum entanglement follows an entropy rule similar to that for classical systems. This discovery opens new perspectives in the field of quantum information science and technology, deepening our understanding of quantum entanglement and its connection to thermodynamics. The results of the study indicate the possibility of reversibility of entanglement transformations, which could greatly simplify their use in various quantum technologies. Opening a new rule ... >>

Energy from space for Starship
08.05.2024
Producing solar energy in space is becoming more feasible with the advent of new technologies and the development of space programs. The head of the startup Virtus Solis shared his vision of using SpaceX's Starship to create orbital power plants capable of powering the Earth. Startup Virtus Solis has unveiled an ambitious project to create orbital power plants using SpaceX's Starship. This idea could significantly change the field of solar energy production, making it more accessible and cheaper. The core of the startup's plan is to reduce the cost of launching satellites into space using Starship. This technological breakthrough is expected to make solar energy production in space more competitive with traditional energy sources. Virtual Solis plans to build large photovoltaic panels in orbit, using Starship to deliver the necessary equipment. However, one of the key challenges ... >>
Random news from the Archive Mystery of natural mushroom factory solved
01.05.2012
Researchers at the University of Bristol have unraveled the mystery of a mushroom 'natural factory' that could help develop new drugs.
In 1942, scientists first isolated an aromatic compound known as stypitic acid from mushrooms. By 1945, the structure of this substance had been studied, but it turned out to be so unique that it revolutionized organic chemistry.
Stipitatic acid is very unusual. It shows properties similar to the aromatic six-membered rings of benzene, but is a seven-membered carbon rings known as tropolones. Until now, it was a mystery how fungi synthesize such a substance using biological processes, because chemists managed to produce tropolone rings only with the help of complex chemical reactions in the presence of nickel and platinum.
Using a combination of genetic and chemical methods, scientists have for the first time identified the genes responsible for the production of tropolones in mushrooms. The researchers blocked the synthesis process at various stages and thus restored the pattern of synthesis at the molecular level.
Stipitatic acid is the basis of a number of fungal compounds that can be used to make antidepressants, antimalarials, and antibacterials. The discovery of the biosynthetic process for tropolone could lead to the creation of cheap and efficient methods for the production of new drugs.
Currently, scientists plan to use genetic engineering to create mushrooms capable of producing new medicinal compounds.
