A series of tripartite

Synonyms: bident, goat horns, dog man, tovstushka, etc.

An annual herbaceous plant with opposite branches up to 30-100 cm in height, of the Asteraceae family (Compositae).

Leaves are short-petiolate, opposite, mostly tripartite, 3-7 cm long.

The flowers are yellow tubular, collected in baskets, 6-15 mm wide. The fruits are wedge-shaped compressed achenes with one longitudinal rib. Achenes are seated along the edge with setae facing downwards; at the top of the achenes there are 2 awns with setae. The length of the achene is 5-8 mm, the width is 2-3 mm.

Flowering from late June to September, fruiting in late October.

Range and habitats. Distributed in Eastern Europe, Siberia, Central Asia, the Caucasus and the Far East.

It grows along damp river banks, along reclamation canals, near ponds and lakes, in swamps, in ditches, where it often forms thickets. Scattered in meadows, as a weed in gardens and fields.

Chemical composition. The grass contains traces of essential oil, mucus, tannins, bitterness and alkaloids, carotene and ascorbic acid.

A series of tripartite

Application in medicine. Grass succession has diuretic and diaphoretic properties, improves digestion, normalizes impaired metabolism. Medicinal properties of preparations of a series, to a certain extent, apparently, are due to the presence of ascorbic acid and manganese, which are important in the physiological transformations of substances. Manganese ions in the composition of enzyme systems affect the processes of hematopoiesis, blood clotting, and the activity of the endocrine glands. Oily extracts of herb succession, containing significant amounts of carotene, insoluble in water, but highly soluble in fats, have anti-inflammatory and wound-healing properties. Tannins, up to 66% of which are polyphenols, give the plant pronounced bactericidal properties.

Prolonged, immoderate use of a series can lead to the opposite results, especially in children's practice - to an increase in nervous excitability and irritability, stool disorders, a drop in blood pressure, and weakness.

In Western folk medicine, the sequence was used as a diuretic, diaphoretic, for respiratory diseases, scrofula and metabolic disorders, scurvy, blood diseases, scabies, lichen, sluggish digestion, toothaches.

In Tibetan medicine - for anemia, atherosclerosis, anthrax, in Chinese medicine - as an antipyretic and for tuberculosis. In scientific medicine, the string is used as a diaphoretic for colds, as a diuretic for diseases of the genitourinary organs, in children's practice for baths with diathesis. Apply general and local baths of the following composition: herbs of succession, oak bark and chamomile, 1 tablespoon each. Infuse in 1 liter of cold water for 10-12 hours, bring to a boil, filter and pour the entire amount of infusion into 10 liters of warm water (temperature 37-38 ° C). There are reports of the use of a series of tripartite in the treatment of patients with psoriasis.

Infusion of herb succession. 20 g of herbs are crushed to a particle size of not more than 5 mm, placed in a vessel (enamelled, porcelain or stainless steel), poured over 200 ml of water at room temperature, closed, heated in a boiling water bath with frequent stirring for 15 minutes, removed, cooled at room temperature for 45 minutes, filter, add water to 200 ml. Take 1 tablespoon 2-3 times a day.

Other uses. From the leaves and flowers of the series, a bright yellow, cream and brown dye is obtained for dyeing silk and woolen fabrics.

Used in veterinary medicine.

Autumn supporting honey plant, gives a small amount of nectar and pollen. One inflorescence releases 0,1283-0,3108 mg of nectar. Nectar productivity of 100 flowers in the conditions of the south of the Far East is 13,0-15,0 mg. Bees visit it willingly only in the free period.

cultivated and wild plants. Legends, myths, symbolism, description, cultivation, methods of application

The tripartite string (Bidens tripartita) is a perennial plant of the Asteraceae family, which can reach a height of 60 to 150 cm. It naturally grows in wetlands, on the banks of reservoirs and along ravines.

Tips for growing, harvesting and storing a series of tripartite:

Cultivation:

  • The tripartite succession can be grown from seed, which is best sown in spring or autumn.
  • The soil should be well-drained, moist and nutritious.
  • The plant loves a sunny place, but can also grow in partial shade.
  • Planting seeds should be carried out at a depth of about 1 cm with a distance between plants of 20-30 cm.
  • It is important to water the plant regularly and prevent the soil from drying out.
  • During the growing season, it is necessary to feed with plant fertilizers.
  • A series of tripartite does not require special care. It is necessary to keep the soil moist and remove weeds so as not to impede the growth of the plant.
  • A series can be used to create decorative flower beds or as a honey plant.

Workpiece:

  • The best time to collect the sequence is the flowering period. Cut off the top of the stem along with the flower.
  • Dry in the shade in a well-ventilated place, laying out in a thin layer on a paper or cloth material.
  • Store in glass or wooden containers in a cool and dry place.

Storage:

  • The sequence can be stored for no more than 2 years. Store in a cool, dry and dark place away from direct sunlight.

New method for creating powerful batteries 08.05.2024

With the development of technology and the expanding use of electronics, the issue of creating efficient and safe energy sources is becoming increasingly urgent. Researchers at the University of Queensland have unveiled a new approach to creating high-power zinc-based batteries that could change the landscape of the energy industry. One of the main problems with traditional water-based rechargeable batteries was their low voltage, which limited their use in modern devices. But thanks to a new method developed by scientists, this drawback has been successfully overcome. As part of their research, scientists turned to a special organic compound - catechol. It turned out to be an important component that can improve battery stability and increase its efficiency. This approach has led to a significant increase in the voltage of zinc-ion batteries, making them more competitive. According to scientists, such batteries have several advantages. They have b ... >>

Alcohol content of warm beer 07.05.2024

Beer, as one of the most common alcoholic drinks, has its own unique taste, which can change depending on the temperature of consumption. A new study by an international team of scientists has found that beer temperature has a significant impact on the perception of alcoholic taste. The study, led by materials scientist Lei Jiang, found that at different temperatures, ethanol and water molecules form different types of clusters, which affects the perception of alcoholic taste. At low temperatures, more pyramid-like clusters form, which reduces the pungency of the "ethanol" taste and makes the drink taste less alcoholic. On the contrary, as the temperature increases, the clusters become more chain-like, resulting in a more pronounced alcoholic taste. This explains why the taste of some alcoholic drinks, such as baijiu, can change depending on temperature. The data obtained opens up new prospects for beverage manufacturers, ... >>

More wives - fewer children 05.06.2011

American demographers analyzed fertility data for the years 1830-1894 for the state of Utah, where at that time members of the Mormon sect were officially allowed to have polygamy.

The leader of the sect himself had 55 wives. Data were collected on 186 adults and 630 of their children. It turned out that the more wives a Mormon had, the smaller the number of children born to each of them.

This phenomenon - the drop in the fertility of many females when they are fertilized by the same male - is called the "Bateman effect" after the English geneticist who discovered it in Drosophila in the middle of the last century. Later, the Bateman effect was also found in one of the breeds of sheep, and now it turns out that this rule is also observed in humans.
