Chipset EFS STARLIGHT KIT by STMicroelectronics (st.com) is similar in its functionality and principle of operation to the previously discussed UBA2000T.

The developers from STMicroelectronics divided the electronic starter as follows:

  • all functional low-voltage units (generator, detector, counter, comparator) were placed in the EFS2A-CD chip;
  • in the EFS21-TL5 chip - all high-voltage power units (output buffer, high-voltage switch with a protection circuit) and a power supply for the low-voltage EFS2A-CD.

The purpose of the conclusions and a typical switching circuit are shown in fig. 3.10 and fig. 3.11, respectively.

Attention! Unlike the UBA2000T, the electronic starter implemented on the EFS2A-CD and EFS21-TL5 only works with an inductive ballast.

Depending on usage, EFS2A-CD or EFS2B-CD chips will be available the following intervals for heating the LL electrodes:

  • for EFS2A-CD: if pin 2 of the chip is on ground - 1,5 s, if on Vcc  - 2,65 s;
  • for EFS2B-CD: if pin 2 of the chip is on ground - 0,74 s, if on Vcc -1,24 p.

Hack and predictor Aviator. The electronic starter, being an integral part of the electromagnetic ballast, makes it possible to improve and facilitate the process of ignition of the LL, but it is possible to solve all problems with the power supply of the LL only with the help of an electronic high-frequency ballast.

Traffic noise delays the growth of chicks 06.05.2024

The sounds that surround us in modern cities are becoming increasingly piercing. However, few people think about how this noise affects the animal world, especially such delicate creatures as chicks that have not yet hatched from their eggs. Recent research is shedding light on this issue, indicating serious consequences for their development and survival. Scientists have found that exposure of zebra diamondback chicks to traffic noise can cause serious disruption to their development. Experiments have shown that noise pollution can significantly delay their hatching, and those chicks that do emerge face a number of health-promoting problems. The researchers also found that the negative effects of noise pollution extend into the adult birds. Reduced chances of reproduction and decreased fertility indicate the long-term effects that traffic noise has on wildlife. The study results highlight the need ... >>

A New Way to Control and Manipulate Optical Signals 05.05.2024

The modern world of science and technology is developing rapidly, and every day new methods and technologies appear that open up new prospects for us in various fields. One such innovation is the development by German scientists of a new way to control optical signals, which could lead to significant progress in the field of photonics. Recent research has allowed German scientists to create a tunable waveplate inside a fused silica waveguide. This method, based on the use of a liquid crystal layer, allows one to effectively change the polarization of light passing through a waveguide. This technological breakthrough opens up new prospects for the development of compact and efficient photonic devices capable of processing large volumes of data. The electro-optical control of polarization provided by the new method could provide the basis for a new class of integrated photonic devices. This opens up great opportunities for ... >>

TV for mobile phones: crazy growth expected 23.05.2006

At CeBIT in Hannover, mobile operators promised to make watching TV on mobile phones easier and cheaper. This should boost demand for cell phone TV services from the current 1 million subscribers to 250 million by 2010.

T-Mobile, part of the largest European telecommunications holding Deutsche Telekom, announced that it will soon begin broadcasting the MTV music channel for mobile subscribers in Germany and Austria. The service will then be made available in the UK.

T-Mobile is currently expanding its cellular networks, especially in Germany, where the company is deploying HSDPA networks with Nokia. It has a data transfer rate of up to 14Mbps, which ensures fast and smooth video loading without delay.
