Perennial herbaceous drought-resistant plant 10-40 cm high. The stem is flower-bearing, furrowed, covered with short white glandular hairs, and along the edge with long hard cilia. The leaves fit tightly to each other in the form of a spherical rosette (like a cabbage head), fleshy, juicy, covered with stiff hairs. Blooms in July - September. The flowers are yellow or greenish-yellow, small, create complex umbellate inflorescences. The grass contains vitamins C, group B, a lot of lactic acid and other organic acids. In nutrition, they use young grass, fresh leaves. They taste like Brussels sprouts. They cook cabbage soup, borscht, make salads, vinaigrettes. Fresh grass is eaten with honey, sugar. Young Salad. Rinse the leaves with cold water, boil in salted water with sugar. Drain the water, chop the leaves, add chopped green onions, apple slices, mix.
