Comments on the article
Stretching is a tear or tear in a ligament, muscle, or tendon that is accompanied by pain, swelling, muscle contraction and tension, limited mobility in the joints, and bruising. You need to be able to distinguish sprains from fractures or bruises, since help for these injuries should be completely different. However, with signs of severe sprain, you should consult a doctor to rule out a bone fracture.
Signs of stretching
The injury site is very sore, swelling.
Mobility is partially or completely lost at the site of injury.
Pain at the site of injury does not subside within two days after the injury.
Two days after the injury, the motor activity of the injured limb is not restored.
First aid
1. Lay or seat your child in a comfortable position.
2. Elevate the injured limb above the level of the heart to reduce swelling.
3. Apply a cold compress to the painful area for 10-15 minutes. This will reduce swelling and pain.
4. If the limb continues to swell, change cold compresses every 20-30 minutes until the swelling begins to decrease.
5. Give your child a pain reliever, tablet or syrup, if needed.
6. If the area of the ankle or knee joint is injured, bandage the joint tightly so as to limit its movement (crosswise), and apply cold. If swelling or pain in the joint gets worse, check with your doctor, as these may be signs of a cracked or broken bone.
7. If the shoulder, elbow or wrist is injured, secure the arm with a bandage and tie the bandage to the torso.
8. When the pain subsides and the swelling subsides, ask the child to move the injured limb. Do not allow the child to use weight on the injured limb until the pain on weight bearing has gone completely. With mild sprains, it takes 7-10 days, with severe ones - 4-6 weeks.

Artificial leather for touch emulation
15.04.2024
In a modern technology world where distance is becoming increasingly commonplace, maintaining connection and a sense of closeness is important. Recent developments in artificial skin by German scientists from Saarland University represent a new era in virtual interactions. German researchers from Saarland University have developed ultra-thin films that can transmit the sensation of touch over a distance. This cutting-edge technology provides new opportunities for virtual communication, especially for those who find themselves far from their loved ones. The ultra-thin films developed by the researchers, just 50 micrometers thick, can be integrated into textiles and worn like a second skin. These films act as sensors that recognize tactile signals from mom or dad, and as actuators that transmit these movements to the baby. Parents' touch to the fabric activates sensors that react to pressure and deform the ultra-thin film. This ... >>

The attractiveness of caring men
14.04.2024
The stereotype that women prefer "bad boys" has long been widespread. However, recent research conducted by British scientists from Monash University offers a new perspective on this issue. They looked at how women responded to men's emotional responsibility and willingness to help others. The study's findings could change our understanding of what makes men attractive to women. A study conducted by scientists from Monash University leads to new findings about men's attractiveness to women. In the experiment, women were shown photographs of men with brief stories about their behavior in various situations, including their reaction to an encounter with a homeless person. Some of the men ignored the homeless man, while others helped him, such as buying him food. A study found that men who showed empathy and kindness were more attractive to women compared to men who showed empathy and kindness. ... >>
