Phimosis - this is a narrowing of the foreskin of the penis with the impossibility of removing the head. At the age of up to 1 year for boys, this is a physiological norm, so you should not try to remove the head on your own by pulling the foreskin. This can lead to rupture of the penile frenulum and bleeding, as well as the development of purulent inflammation and the need for surgery.

If phimosis does not go away after a year, it is treated surgically at the age of 2 years.

When to see a doctor

If the boy develops acute urinary retention.

If you notice purulent inflammation of the foreskin.

If the redness of the foreskin does not go away, but only intensifies.

If the child has physiological phimosis, then when the baby is one year old, it must be shown to the urologist.

If suddenly the baby's scrotum turns red and swollen on one side.

If during swaddling, when touching the scrotum, the child cries, becomes restless, do not hesitate, but urgently contact a urologist, as the boy may have an acute disease of the scrotum. It can lead to necrosis (necrosis) of the testicle, and then the doctor will not be able to help - the dead testicle will need to be removed.

What to do before the doctor arrives

If the foreskin is reddened, give the child warm baths with a weak solution of potassium permanganate (potassium permanganate) or chamomile decoction.

Artificial leather for touch emulation 15.04.2024

In a modern technology world where distance is becoming increasingly commonplace, maintaining connection and a sense of closeness is important. Recent developments in artificial skin by German scientists from Saarland University represent a new era in virtual interactions. German researchers from Saarland University have developed ultra-thin films that can transmit the sensation of touch over a distance. This cutting-edge technology provides new opportunities for virtual communication, especially for those who find themselves far from their loved ones. The ultra-thin films developed by the researchers, just 50 micrometers thick, can be integrated into textiles and worn like a second skin. These films act as sensors that recognize tactile signals from mom or dad, and as actuators that transmit these movements to the baby. Parents' touch to the fabric activates sensors that react to pressure and deform the ultra-thin film. This ... >>

The attractiveness of caring men 14.04.2024

The stereotype that women prefer "bad boys" has long been widespread. However, recent research conducted by British scientists from Monash University offers a new perspective on this issue. They looked at how women responded to men's emotional responsibility and willingness to help others. The study's findings could change our understanding of what makes men attractive to women. A study conducted by scientists from Monash University leads to new findings about men's attractiveness to women. In the experiment, women were shown photographs of men with brief stories about their behavior in various situations, including their reaction to an encounter with a homeless person. Some of the men ignored the homeless man, while others helped him, such as buying him food. A study found that men who showed empathy and kindness were more attractive to women compared to men who showed empathy and kindness. ... >>

HDR10+ High Dynamic Range Open Video Standard 01.05.2017

Samsung Electronics and Amazon Video have unveiled a development called HDR10+. This is an updated open standard for adding dynamic metadata to a video stream to improve the contrast of a television image and expand its dynamic range.

HDR10+ adds the Dynamic Tone Mapping extension to the HDR10 standard. HDR10 uses static metadata that does not change during playback, regardless of the brightness of certain scenes. As a result, quality suffers in some cases. For example, if the movie as a whole is quite bright, but it has a few scenes shot in the dark, they will be substantially darker than the director intended.

In the case of HDR10+, dynamic metadata corrects the situation, allowing an HDR-enabled TV to change brightness as you transition from one scene to another, or even as you move from one frame to another. The result is improved image quality that is closer to the director's original intent. In any case, this is how the source describes the advantage of HDR10+.

All 2017 Samsung UHD TVs, including Quantum Dot QLED TVs, support HDR10+. In the second half of the year, Samsung promises to release a firmware update for 2016 models that will add HDR10+ support.

Of course, it is necessary to introduce HDR10 + into the process of production and encoding of video products. Samsung and Amazon Video are doing this together, working with film studios and TV companies.
