Glomerulonephritis. Medical care for a child

glomerulonephritis - a disease of the kidneys, namely the renal glomeruli. Most often they are sick in children from 3 to 12 years. The older the child, the greater the likelihood that acute glomerulonephritis will become chronic. The cause of the disease is a viral or bacterial infection, especially pneumonia, scarlet fever, tonsillitis, chronic tonsillitis, influenza and other respiratory infections. But even chicken pox and mumps can trigger the development of glomerulonephritis.

The disease begins 2-3 weeks after the infection. The development of glomerulonephritis is based on immunological disorders.

Glomerulonephritis often leads to the involvement of many organs and systems of the body in the pathological process: cardiovascular, digestive, nervous, immune, etc. That is, the disease is severe and serious, therefore it is treated in a hospital, and at least 1,5-2 months.

Symptoms of the disease

7-14 days after a viral or streptococcal infection, the child develops weakness, fatigue, thirst with a decrease in appetite. Decreased or completely stopped urine output.

Sometimes the initial period of the disease is accompanied by a rise in body temperature, headache, nausea, and vomiting.

On the face of the child, and later on the legs, lower back, swelling occurs. This is the earliest and most common sign of glomerulonephritis. Their severity in children is different: from moderate swelling on the face to widespread swelling throughout the body. In infants, they are often located on the lower back and sacrum.

Subsequently, the pallor of the child becomes noticeable, a dull aching pain in the lower back appears. And this pain is bilateral.

Urine becomes red, brown and even black-brown.

When emergency medical attention is needed

If you notice any of the above symptoms, call your doctor immediately.

First aid is not required, as the disease is treated under the supervision of a physician.

ATTENTION!

After treatment of glomerulonephritis, children should be under the supervision of a pediatric nephrologist for 5 years, monthly passing urine for analysis. Such children are exempted from strong physical exertion.

New Generation of 14nm Intel Processors 02.04.2016

Intel has announced a new family of Xeon E5-2600 v4 processors (E5-26xx v4, specially designed for flexible cloud infrastructures. The top chip contains 22 cores. The line includes 27 models in total. All of them are based on the 14-nm process technology.

"The new processors have the potential to help businesses, cloud service providers and telcos achieve higher performance, benefit from every new server, and accelerate their transition to software-defined infrastructure."

The Intel Xeon E5-2600 v4 processors are designed for dual-socket servers, dual-socket workstations, and communications equipment. Depending on the model, the processor contains from four to 22 cores. There are 27 models in total (PDF).

Almost all new models support Intel Turbo Boost 2.0 and Intel HT technologies. The electrical power of the chips varies from 50 to 160 watts. LLC cache size varies from 10 to 55 MB, one server can contain up to 24 DIMMs (DDR4 2400 MHz). All chips are made using 14nm technology. Their cost ranges from $213 to $4115 per piece in a batch of a thousand units.

The new processors are equipped with Intel Resource Director Technology (Intel RDT), which enables deeper analysis and control over shared platform resources for more granular control. This improves infrastructure efficiency and reduces total cost of ownership (Total Cost of Ownership - TCO). In addition, there are new options for monitoring processor cache memory, RAM bandwidth, and new cache allocation options.

The technology is able to "see" what kind of load individual threads, applications or virtual machines have on the system, and, for example, allocate processor cache memory, giving priority to more important virtual machines, containers and applications.

The new Xeons have improved data protection. For example, the addition of support for the ADCX/ADOX and PCLMULQDQ command sets made it possible to reduce the time of initiating secure sessions based on the RSA, ECC, and Secure Hash Algorithm (SHA) encryption algorithms by up to 70%.

The Xeon E5-2600 v4 processors have a built-in random number generator for generating encryption keys and a built-in random binary sequence generator for use by third-party software solutions.
