Safe Operation

1. General requirements for labor protection

1.1. Persons who are at least 18 years of age, trained and certified in the prescribed manner, who have passed a medical examination and on-the-job instruction, who have a photo ID for the right to perform this type of work, who have passed a knowledge test on safety rules in the gas industry, are allowed to pump out unevaporated LPG residues from underground tanks. farm.

1.2. Personnel must comply with the internal labor regulations, fire safety rules and this manual.

1.3. Persons authorized to pump out unevaporated LPG residues from underground tanks must know the Rules for the design and safe operation of pressure vessels and the Safety Rules in the gas industry as they relate to the transportation, storage and use of cylinders filled with gas in production conditions.

1.4. Workers carrying out work on pumping out LPG must wear special clothing required by regulations. At the same time, workwear and other personal protective equipment must be clean and free of oil stains.

1.5. The schedule for maintenance and pumping out of unevaporated LPG from underground tanks is approved by the chief engineer of the enterprise.

1.6. For persons involved in the technical operation of the gas facilities, job descriptions, production instructions, instructions for safe work methods and fire safety should be developed.

2. Safety requirements before starting work

2.1. Obtain a work permit for carrying out gas hazardous work.

2.2. Put on the appropriate overalls, safety shoes.

2.3. Inspect the workplace, free it from foreign, combustible materials.

2.4. Inspect and make sure that devices and equipment for pumping LPG and cleaning underground tanks are in good condition.

2.5. Prepare the necessary tools, fixtures, gaskets.

3. Safety requirements during work

3.1. An underground tank must be free of gas, unevaporated residues and carefully treated before carrying out an internal inspection.

3.2. Treatment of tanks from LPG should be carried out by steaming them and purging with an inert gas or filling with warm water. The processing time of the vessels is determined by the manager depending on the temperature of the coolant.

3.3. Processing of tanks should be carried out after disconnecting them from the gas pipelines of the vapor and liquid phases using plugs.

3.4. Depressurization of the tank without first reducing the pressure to atmospheric, as well as the use of air degassing is not allowed.

3.5. The quality of the degassing should be checked by analyzing air samples taken from the bottom of the vessel. The concentration of liquefied gas in the degassing sample must not exceed 20% of the lower flammable limit of the gas.

3.6. Sediments removed from the tanks must be kept moist and immediately removed from the plant site for disposal in a specially designated area.

3.7. Water after washing and testing of tanks should be discharged into the sewer only through settling tanks, which exclude the ingress of LPG into the sewer.

3.8. Pollution from sedimentation tanks should be taken to places specially designated by the sanitary and epidemiological service.

3.9. Measures for the treatment of wastewater and the removal of explosive and flammable products should exclude the formation of an explosive concentration of LPG in the sewerage system.

4. Safety requirements in emergency situations

4.1. When receiving a thermal burn, if the victim's clothes caught fire. You need to quickly throw any dense fabric on it or bring down the flame with water.

4.2. In case of small-sized burns of the 1st and 2nd degree, a sterile bandage should be applied to the burnt area of ​​the skin and the victim should be sent to a medical institution. Notify the work manager. In case of severe and extensive burns, the victim must be wrapped in a clean cloth or sheet without undressing him, covered warmer, and calm until the doctors arrive.

5. Safety requirements upon completion of work

5.1. After completion of work, carefully check the condition of the workplace.

5.2. Check for flammable waste.

5.3. Wash your hands with soap and take a shower.
