Safe Operation

1. General safety requirements

1.1. Personnel not younger than 18 years of age, who have undergone training, additional instruction, and a medical commission, are allowed to work in quarries.

2. Responsibilities of staff before starting work

2.2. The contractor should consider the following precautions before starting mining and excavation of the quarry:

3. Safety requirements during work

3.1. Before carrying out any maneuver with an excavator, the driver must make sure that there are no people in the work area, and there are previously undiscovered trees, stones, and unknown objects in the face.

3.2. It is forbidden to clean, lubricate and repair mechanisms during operation.

3.3. When the excavator is in operation, it is forbidden to carry out any other work and be by unauthorized persons within a radius equal to the boom plus 5 m. Only the driver and those members of the team, without whom the machine cannot be serviced, are allowed to be on the excavator. The presence of unauthorized persons is prohibited.

3.4. Loading of soil into dump trucks should be carried out from the side of the rear or side board. It is forbidden to carry the bucket over the driver's cab. It is forbidden for an excavator operator to load soil into a dump truck that does not have a protective armored shield over the cab, as well as when the driver is in the cab.

3.5. During breaks in work, the excavator boom should be moved away from the face, and the bucket should be lowered to the ground. Clean the bucket and adjust the brakes with the bucket lowered to the ground.

3.6. The speed of movement of vehicles along the quarry is set by the head of the quarry and should not exceed 20 km / h.

4. Safety requirements in emergency situations

4.1. In case of heavy snowfall, heavy rain, fog, when the place of work of the excavator is poorly visible, if a malfunction is detected that prevents the safe performance of work, the driver is obliged to suspend work and notify the work manager.

4.2. In case of an accident or an accident, it is necessary to turn off the engine, turn on the brake, provide first aid to the victim, inform the work manager.

5. Safety requirements after completion of work

5.1. Check all mechanisms.

5.2. Move the excavator from the quarry to the base or leave it in a safe place in the quarry.

5.3. Place the boom along the axis of the excavator, pull the bucket closer to the cab.

5.4. Report all comments to the manager.

5.5. Wash your hands with soap and take a shower.
