Artificial leather for touch emulation 15.04.2024

In a modern technology world where distance is becoming increasingly commonplace, maintaining connection and a sense of closeness is important. Recent developments in artificial skin by German scientists from Saarland University represent a new era in virtual interactions. German researchers from Saarland University have developed ultra-thin films that can transmit the sensation of touch over a distance. This cutting-edge technology provides new opportunities for virtual communication, especially for those who find themselves far from their loved ones. The ultra-thin films developed by the researchers, just 50 micrometers thick, can be integrated into textiles and worn like a second skin. These films act as sensors that recognize tactile signals from mom or dad, and as actuators that transmit these movements to the baby. Parents' touch to the fabric activates sensors that react to pressure and deform the ultra-thin film. This ... >>

The attractiveness of caring men 14.04.2024

The stereotype that women prefer "bad boys" has long been widespread. However, recent research conducted by British scientists from Monash University offers a new perspective on this issue. They looked at how women responded to men's emotional responsibility and willingness to help others. The study's findings could change our understanding of what makes men attractive to women. A study conducted by scientists from Monash University leads to new findings about men's attractiveness to women. In the experiment, women were shown photographs of men with brief stories about their behavior in various situations, including their reaction to an encounter with a homeless person. Some of the men ignored the homeless man, while others helped him, such as buying him food. A study found that men who showed empathy and kindness were more attractive to women compared to men who showed empathy and kindness. ... >>

Controller Renesas R9A02G011 15.04.2016

Renesas Electronics announced the release of the USB Power Delivery (PD) controller, designated R9A02G011. This controller, which replaced the uPD720250 model, complies with the USB PD 3.0 specification. According to the manufacturer, R9A02G011 can be used not only in smartphones and PCs, but also in other cases where DC power is needed, such as computer peripherals, robots, power adapters, projectors and other consumer electronics devices.

Recall that the USB Power Delivery 3.0 specification provides for the ability to supply power up to 100 W via USB by increasing the voltage to 20 V and the current to 5 A. For comparison, the capabilities of the original USB version were limited to a power of 7,5 W (5 V, 1,5 .3.0 A). This allowed us to significantly expand the scope of USB in terms of powering devices and charging batteries. By using an off-the-shelf controller that complies with the USB PD XNUMX specification, developers can reduce device design costs and speed it up.

The R9A02G011's flash memory, oscillator, power-on initialization circuits, and other blocks reduce the number of external components and reduce the size of the printed circuit board. The R9A02G011 chip is available in a 32-pin QFN package. In addition to the controller itself, the manufacturer plans to offer reference samples of solutions based on it.

Evaluation samples of R9A02G011 are now available. Serial production should begin in May. The planned output is 1 million pieces per month.
