  • make sure that there are no other vessels in the way of movement and give a warning signal;
  • do not leave the car with the engine running;
  • avoid sharp turns when moving through the water area.

3.2. When operating the mechanisms of the boat, do not be distracted from your duties.

3.3. When people enter and exit the boat and from the boat, make sure that the gangway is securely moored and that the gangway itself is in good condition.

3.4. It is allowed to enter and leave the boat only when the boat is completely stopped and securely moored to the berth.

3.5. Before leaving the vehicle, turn off the ignition or cut off the fuel supply, make sure that the boat is securely moored to the pier.

3.6. Refuel the boat with fuel in accordance with the safety rules established by fueling stations.

3.7. Use a special device to pour gasoline. It is forbidden to suck gasoline by mouth through the hose.

3.8. When transporting passengers, the latter must be instructed on safety measures when staying on the waters.

4. Safety requirements in an emergency

4.1. If a passenger falls overboard the boat, stop the boat, throw a lifebuoy and do everything possible to lift the passenger on board the boat and provide first aid to the injured.

4.2. In the event of a fire due to a malfunction of the boat's electrical equipment, leaks in the power system, accumulation of dirt and oil on the engine, and other violations of the boat's operation, the driver must:

  • stop the boat
  • take measures to evacuate the passengers on board;
  • take measures to extinguish the fire, using a fire extinguisher and other fire extinguishing means - sand, tarpaulin.

5. Safety requirements at the end of work

5.1. Moor the boat to the pier in the designated area.

5.2. Move control levers to neutral position

5.3. Stop the engine

5.4. Clean machine parts and work equipment.

5.5. Wash your face and hands with warm soapy water and take a shower.

5.6. Close the cabin with a key and hand over the boat to the watchman.

Artificial leather for touch emulation 15.04.2024

In a modern technology world where distance is becoming increasingly commonplace, maintaining connection and a sense of closeness is important. Recent developments in artificial skin by German scientists from Saarland University represent a new era in virtual interactions. German researchers from Saarland University have developed ultra-thin films that can transmit the sensation of touch over a distance. This cutting-edge technology provides new opportunities for virtual communication, especially for those who find themselves far from their loved ones. The ultra-thin films developed by the researchers, just 50 micrometers thick, can be integrated into textiles and worn like a second skin. These films act as sensors that recognize tactile signals from mom or dad, and as actuators that transmit these movements to the baby. Parents' touch to the fabric activates sensors that react to pressure and deform the ultra-thin film. This ... >>

Petgugu Global cat litter 15.04.2024

Taking care of pets can often be a challenge, especially when it comes to keeping your home clean. A new interesting solution from the Petgugu Global startup has been presented, which will make life easier for cat owners and help them keep their home perfectly clean and tidy. Startup Petgugu Global has unveiled a unique cat toilet that can automatically flush feces, keeping your home clean and fresh. The device connects to the sewer system and ensures efficient waste removal without the need for intervention from the owner. Additionally, the toilet has a large flushable storage capacity, making it ideal for multi-cat households. The Petgugu cat litter bowl is designed for use with water-soluble litters and offers a range of additional ... >>

The attractiveness of caring men 14.04.2024

The stereotype that women prefer "bad boys" has long been widespread. However, recent research conducted by British scientists from Monash University offers a new perspective on this issue. They looked at how women responded to men's emotional responsibility and willingness to help others. The study's findings could change our understanding of what makes men attractive to women. A study conducted by scientists from Monash University leads to new findings about men's attractiveness to women. In the experiment, women were shown photographs of men with brief stories about their behavior in various situations, including their reaction to an encounter with a homeless person. Some of the men ignored the homeless man, while others helped him, such as buying him food. A study found that men who showed empathy and kindness were more attractive to women compared to men who showed empathy and kindness. ... >>

Efficient batteries 13.02.2013

Scientists from the SLAC National Accelerator Laboratory and Stanford University have set a world record for energy storage efficiency. This was achieved using a special electrode design that resembles the yolk of an egg.

The new sulfur-based cathode can store 5 times more energy than the best current commercial lithium-ion batteries. In addition, modern lithium-ion batteries typically retain about 80% of their original capacity after 500 charge/discharge cycles. In turn, the new technology maintains high battery efficiency even after 1000 charge/discharge cycles. Thanks to this, it became possible to create a new generation of batteries: capacious, light and more durable. They can be used in portable electronics and electric vehicles.

Scientists know that, in theory, sulfur can store many more lithium ions, and therefore much more energy, than current electrodes. However, there are two problems with the use of sulfur in batteries. So, when lithium ions are absorbed by the electrode during discharging, they bond with sulfur atoms and create intermediate compounds that limit the capacity of the battery. At the same time, the influx of ions causes an increase in the volume of the cathode by about 80%. This will crack any protective coatings on the electrode surface and shorten the life of the battery.

The new technology involves the creation of a cathode of nanoparticles with a diameter of 800 nanometers. They are a tiny particle of sulfur surrounded by a hard shell of porous titanium dioxide, like an egg yolk in an eggshell. Between the "yolk" and the "shell" there is an empty space that allows the sulfur to expand unhindered. During discharge, lithium ions pass through the shell and bind with sulfur, which expands and fills the void between the "yolk" and the "shell" without breaking the hard shell. In this case, the shell protects sulfur from the formation of intermediate compounds.

During the experiments, the new battery retained 70% capacity after 1000 charge / discharge cycles, which, even without optimization, matches and even exceeds that of the most advanced commercial batteries. Currently, scientists are planning to experiment with adding other materials, in particular silicon, inside the "shell".
